On CBS This Morning, Bernie announced he will run! #FeelTheBern <3
Steal those votes, Bernie! Let's go for a repeat of 2016! WOOOOOOOOO!
*In all seriousness, didn't we learn from 2016's mistakes? Bernie lost the endorsement, this caused people to feel burned (as opposed to "Berned"), and they either voted for Trump to spite Clinton, or voted for a third party. A sort of "if I can't have the person I want then you can't have my vote"
Also, while I hate to practice ageism, Sanders is 77 years old. That's how old my dad is. My dad is a super smart guy and I am sure Bernie is too, but at that age...you start to forget things. You get short-tempered (Bernie is notoriously cranky as it is), and frankly I just don't know if one's brain is elastic enough at that age to deal with being president.

I won't argue against the ageism comment, because there isn't much getting around the idea that health and mentality can be concerning for octogenarians. That said, president Hamberders is 72 and clinically obese. If we assume, heavens forbid, he wins in 2020 and makes it to 2024, he'll be older and probably less healthy than Bernie is right now by the time he's done.
As for the other point, I can almost assure you Bernie running now will not result in a repeat of 2016. 2016 was a critical mistake in suppressing popular candidates to force forward an entrenched and close-chested candidate with nearly no appeal outside the party. That is true. And also coupled with innerparty drama, overestimating their chances in important states, and foreign interference.
My prediction is that the DNC is actually going to go for mass appeal this time around, and will run a pretty legit primary by comparison. I would expect nearly every candidate so far to play it right and step down or accept results if needed. Except for maybe Schultz who is a complete tool, but that's besides the point.
free to do it. don't see him capturing as many followers as last time around.
last time: "oh this guy is fresh and new and i like his ideas"
this time: "ok, we get it bernie"

Sanders´s age is going to be a big hurdle for him. Especially with the candidates who are running against him, which for some have a similar platform.
But now we just need Biden, Clinton and a few more to announce and we have a full house.
As my thread yesterday mentioned, Trump has shown me pretty much any idea is possible, including Bernie's. We have 22 trillion in debt and our president has blown up the deficit in good economic times so the rich could get richer. If he can do that then we can have Bernie's medicare for all, student loan forgivness, and other stuff that costs money, but actually benefits people beyond just the wealthy. And we will tax the rich to help pay for it, don't like it? I don't like your choice for president either and you didn't care about my opinion back in 2016.

I think it's more along the lines of, "Several others are supporting Medicare for All and climate change reduction, so what sets you apart at this point? Hopefully several things or we're probably going to go with a younger person who supports roughly the same things that you already do.
I'm starting to like Bernie. He used to praise the most ridiculous regimes (Cuba, USSR, Venezuela) but in recent years, he's distanced himself from that and gotten comfortable with the Scandinavian countries and Canada. It's almost like he's gone reverse senile.

If he's going to make any headway, he needs to give the US a more in depth look at how he plans to achieve all this economic reform other than just, "I mean, it's a good idea."

That's all Trump did, and he won.
EDIT. I'm being serious when I say that.
Already received over $4 million from about 150,000 donors since his announcement. I don't think bernie will have much trouble holding onto, and even gaining more support.

The thing I think is still settling in about Trump is that he doesn't get graded on the same curve as the rest of the field. A lifetime public servant like Bernie Sanders would never be able to get away with what Donny John gets away with.
This is going to be a circus to watch, probably worse than the Republicans in 2015-2016.
I personally don't see Bernie recapturing the votes cause everyone switch sides with Hillary and not to mention, his age is a very concern, same thing with John McCain's age during his Presidency run.
Will Bernie Bros (or candidate X Bros) choose to not vote when their first choice doesn't make it to the general?
I would hope not. How well did 'busting' work out for them last time?

Yeah, 2 more conservative SC judges, massive corporate tax cuts, and years of policy changes in direct conflict with Bernie's major platform issues.
'Planned' lol

It's gonna be great watching the democrat party implode again. I hope he wins because Schultz has said if a marxist wins the dem nomination he will run.

Hows that working out with AOC? The far left "accleration" you basement Bolsheviks are hoping for is doing nothing but further splitting your party.

I'm simply loving these new troll accounts. Just regurgitating the same rhetoric with every post.

"Everything I don't like is a troll".
I'm fine with it. I figure there are just too many contenders this year for the DNC to do anything but back their hands off and let the process reclaim some semblance that it's supposed to be for. I don't think he'll get the nomination but... who knows?

This is akin to being sacked behind the line of scrimmage and claiming it's great because you have more field to work with. Some of those losses will take a generation or more to regain, if at all.
