These Salt-Right tears are delicious.
Voter Turnout:74.62%
Damn, that is incredible. Nice participation, France, wish my own country showed the same enthusiasm.
@mrbojangles25:
Actually, that's low by French standards. It's usually around about 80-85%. I believe I heard somewhere that it's the second lowest ever, after 1969, when 68.85% turned out to elect centre-right Georges Pompidou over similarly centre-right Alain Poher.
They elected a man who said terrorism is apart of daily life and the french seem to accept that. I won't disagree with the decision not my country. but I've noticed that politics seems more like Britains got talent or American idol whoever is liked more regardless of policies seem to be victorious in election. When it comes to the UKs election for the first time I'll vote for May and the Tories as she has the strongest and most stable party and that's what is needed for brexit. Labour has fallen apart and under Corbyn it'll get worse.
How about them riots......
Like I said earlier in the thread, they seem to be just a bunch of anarchists and left-wing crybabies who hate both Le Pen and Macron. I doubt most French people give a shit about them.
Politics in continental Europe is not binary and black-and-white like it is in America or the UK.
How about them riots......
Ya it´s bad to watch all them riots and alt-right snowflakes demonstrate and destroy shit
Or no wait......
Kinda puzzling when you think about it.
What exactly is puzzling about it?
I assume you're alluding to the protests about Trump but the two really aren't comparable. Macron won the popular vote by a landslide, Trump lost the popular vote. So obviously people would be more pissed about Trump winning.
There weren't any riots in the UK when the conservatives got reelected even though it was the most unrepresentative election in UK history, because despite that the conservatives got a minority of the vote, they did still get the most votes (unlike Trump) and Brexit no riots there, lots of criticism but no riots.
Like others have already said, these alt-right tears are delicious. So much desperation.
@madrocketeer: Macron have already made some reforms, hasn't he? Under Hollande I mean.
Yes, the "Macron Rule," which if I recall correctly, allowed businesses to open longer on weekends. Sounds simple enough, right? The story went that he thought so too, until it was watered down to a shadow of what it was. He thought there were centrists from both the Socialists and the Republicans who were in favour of it, but could not back it because they were constrained by their party machines.
And so, as the story goes, his political journey began.
I have no idea who he is until now. So what he has done and hasn't is unknown to me.
