Human right to immigrate to US

The United States should not be allowed to trample the rights of human beings by preventing them from immigrating to The United States. The United States is a nation by immigrants and for immigrants. If you're a human being, then you're allowed to immigrate to the United States whenever and however you want. The term "illegal immigrant" was invited by racists.

Donald Trump needs to take a long hard look at a history book because he obviously does not understand this. There's a reason why the 9th Circuit struck down his obviously racist order; the 9th Circuit understands human rights. Hopefully this clown is impeached.

We have laws restricting the terms in which people can immigrate. These did not start with Donald Trump.

We also used to own slaves.

Nowhere in the US Constitution or Bill of Rights as well as following amendments does it give anyone a right to immigrate to the US. It is a privilege granted via laws granted by Congress and enforced by Customs and Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. While the State Department will issue visas, it is Customs that checks them at entry points to the US, be it a border (with Border Patrol help) or airports.

And? I dont see how that is pertinent to 21st century immigration.

Islam is a religion. Not a race. The ban also doesn't include every Muslim majority country. If you live or are from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Egypt, and many others. There was no travel ban imposed. If you disagree with Trump's order, no problem. But try to make more informed statements. Instead of copying and pasting a rant from someone's social media post.

There is pretty much no country, that doesn't have a procedure of taking in immigrants. Some countries, even force you to forfeit the citizenship of your country of birth.

We even welcome Trumps immigrant wife and Mr. Drumpf who also comes from immigration and decided to change his name. Im guessing he wanted to hide his German side.

But everywhere else, you need to apply and wait to be accepted to immigrate to the nation.

The travel ban wasn't going to stop terrorism and immigrants need to come to the US legally.

I think we need to cut immigration some (we are at record levels). But, I think instead of building a wall around Mexico we should consider lowering legal immigration levels.

Most of the perpetrators of 9/11 were Saudi, don't see Saudi Arabia included in the ban, Pakistan is a Muslim country and who was comfortably living in Pakistan for several years ? What is probably the more likely bigger issue, is how someone's views and culture. Will fit in American society. If you want to throw people off a building. For simply having a belief or lifestyle you disagree with. Then America is not the place for you. Likewise, when you immigrate to another country. You have to submit to that nation's govenrmemt, laws, and culture. Trying to change aspects of your migrated country, because it lacks things you liked about your country of origin. Is not gonna fly.

That's why it will never happen. Best not to commit political suicide BEFORE you get elected.

Agreed, America should ban religion. Force people to denounce their religion before they can become a citizen. Exile those that refuse.

Its a shame that there's so much assumption that bias, is the reason immigrants and refugees get rejected. Many records have been destroyed or lost during the Syrian civil war. So there's an inherently high risk with taking someone, who could be lying about their identity and past. And if someone accepted decides to screw up. Best believe the immigration officials who passed them, is getting thrown under the bus. No matter how progressive said politicians claim to be in public. Happens all the time to parole boards across the country.

The days of just taking anyone in America and elsewhere, are long over. Our urban areas have grown to the point, that they cannot support a big continual influx of immigrants. Which is where migrants tend to flock to. And contrary to popular belief. There were immigrants that were rejected and sent back to their country, during the days Ellis Island was open. Usually for medical reasons. Which meant a lot of families over the years, were forced to be separated.

Immigration is not a human right. It's a privilege that one earns and can very easily lose.
