They wouldn't need to profile based on race if the population is uniformly based on a particular race. It all goes back to a provision in the Great Society Program where unmarried mother get paid approximately $1,500 Per month Per child. This led to the break up of the Black families in the inner cities. Until the family unit in the black community is restored the Blacks will continue on the down word spiral they are on. White Privilege is an excuse to cover their failings. No law can be legislated that will change their condition until they rectify their current life style. Only they can make the change.

They're culture had a worse starting point, they were 25% single vs something like 4% of whites. Now its like 70/40. The cultural issues are in both groups they were just accelerated in the black community.

This is incorrect. These statistical facts are not racist. It shows how one race has adopted certain cultural norms that are more behavioral issues. They have an 'underclass culture'. This isn't something that is dependent on their race so while we can sort the criminal individuals by many categories and race is just one of them. But these statistics aren't linking race as the cause of the issues in any way.

You don't understand the difference between racism and sorting criminals in a statistical manner to see the overlapping differences in individuals.

This is irrelevant. There may be fallout because of racism but when the barriers to entry for black people have been evened out its on them to actually do the work and make the sacrifices needed to be successful. Other races don't have this perception of discrimination so their poor are just that... poor.

I've suggested it multiple times. Its on the black community to actually revitalize morals and responsibility in their community instead of blaming all their issues on racism... and for white people to stop treating them as victims of slavery, they are just poor people that have a bad culture. Today no one cares about their race.

When black immigrants can come to this country and make 30% more than the average native black person, go to college, and become successful, you have to ask yourself, are people really discriminating any more? If they are its definitely not based on race so whats the issue? Not to mention there are successful black Americans usually don't believe in racism and interact with white people on a regular basis.

Illustrating behavioral attributes of a particular community is different than saying another race is inferior because of the race. No one is saying that race is causing the issues here, in fact many white people suffer from similar issues. Except that what we have done by constantly saying things like 'white privilege' is to undermine white peoples opinion about the problem and to excuse 'black failure' as a result of a community being broken vs white people holding them back.

Someone granted me earlier, white privilege is financial privilege. Which basically means it has nothing to do with race. The only reason the term white privilege exists is to undermine white people's opinion regardless of financial privilege.

Why are these 'valid' answers. Why do you feel like there has to be some external influence on a particular group of people that grew up where mostly independent from another group of people and had a different culture to start with and have a different culture now.

Do you not know how culture works? Do you know that black people weren't of European decent and have an different culture? And their culture grew through slavery and segregation independently?

Do you know the irish have a different culture, and some very early irish americans were slaves?

Do you know there are differences in culture with Spanish people?

How bout different cultures between north/south, and even then those can be split down even more.

Yes, culture creates a circular dependency on itself... parents teach kids culture, kids enact culture, kids become parents and teach...

And culture is developed independently in communities. No black group of people are identical to other black groups of people, but there are surely american stars that influence different cultures of different races different, and consumerism that tries to push specific culture norms to sell products. So we've become a more uniform culture across america.

That's the nature of culture. A community adopts particular behavioral norms because they do. And its not like we are talking about all black cultures... again I'll point out to the more celebrated jass/blues culture in america.

Basically why culture is different is a dumb question because you fail to understand how culture just developers differently...

No one is denying that their culture didn't have some negative external effects. But the point is they have bad culture NOW where racism isn't an issue like it was 60+ years ago. Not to mention culture is driven internally just as much as its driven externally. And its independent of other cultures in many cases.

We can keep talking about discrimination but... if you can't see the motivations of discrimination between the KKK and police profiling then your part of the issue. Your clouding a group of people that discriminate because of race vs police trying to do their job effectively in high crime areas. Just because there are overlapping facts that the the KKK use to push a narrative doesn't mean the police are discriminating unjustly. If one common trait among many criminals happens to be that they are black in and around a particular area... then profiling black people is just effective policing. You may not like the reality. But if the police stop profiling its not like there are going to be less black criminals in an area...

First. Half of white american's fought for their freedom. Civil rights movements fought against black discrimination through history after. We've even given them lawful privileges to make it easier for them to get into college.

We've nearly eliminated all discrimination based on race being the sole factor and even give them actual privileges. We can't make them make better life choices at this point so its really out of our hands.

First off you'd have to be stupid to not believe whites are unwilling to help. The question is what else can we do now to stop underclass culture... and I'm suggesting not much.

And white privilege has nothing to do with being white, there are black people that make good decisions... and become president, or the host of the daily show, or a jedi in star wars prequels, or a modern philosopher (thomas sowell), or prominent figures in our society.. etc etc. So I'll point out again what does this have to do with white privilege? That label is inherently wrong because its targeting white people that either started out better OR made better choices through out their life. Its not like whites aren't in poverty.

So we can say some people are financially privileged OR they make good choices so their children are financially privileged.

Because its not. I'm not basing my opinion on their blackness but the fact that an overwhelming amount of young people in black communities have adopted an underclass culture and even whites to some extent. There is a growing cultural issue in america that has to be exposed and weeded out. Identity politics and terms like white privilege undermine the root cause of struggling people today.

The fact that when people hear black, like earlier someone mentioned you would lock your doors if there was a black person... or you showing a picture of the wire... we haven't actually been talking about race. We've been talking about a particular subculture in america that originated from black communities and popularized through rap/gang culture.

And again I'd point out you don't seem to understand the difference between racism and underclass culture. Racism again is an inherent belief that one race is inferior to the other.

when viewing these statististics

A racist would say blacks can't help themselves because they are black.

A normal person would say we've negatively impacted black culture, but thats in the past, we've reached a point where blacks have to help themselves if they want to do better.

I've explained to you the difference between racism, culture, and how racists would perceive culture, how we've been using 'blacks' in place 'black culture' in place gang culture... yah there is a bit of prejudace short hand being used in this thread but the reality is we'd be able to distinguish whether or not we should lock the door based more on color... and we do. There are factors that are far more significant when locking your door. Its like the difference between seeing a white guy with Sons of Anarchy vest vs Hell's Angel's...

Yes, and again black culture we are referring to a specific culture which you helped illuminate by pointing out the wire earlier. Which isn't representative of all black communities.

And I've mentioned the culture isn't exclusive to black people when referring to underclass culture. I've tried to separate race from culture but YOU keep trying to bring it back to 'black culture'. I'm Portuguese and my family is poor as shit, I made good decisions and have a good job. My younger cousin got pregnant when she was 14, and my other cousin has been in and out of jail, I work on mass spectrometers.

And they black people treated unfairly in the past. Now they just aren't being successful. You don't have to be financially privileges to succeed in america. And you don't have to be poor to fail.

Do blacks create black culture?

That is both yes and no. So the question isn't how they go there, but whats left reinforcing the culture.

And any influence that white people would like to have on positively changing that culture are shouted down with the idea of white privilege.

Any blacks that would like to positively change the culture are shouted down with uncle tom or coon, and that they aren't black enough (see even they use the term black to mean 'black culture')

I'm not dividing culture up by race. It is divided up because communities are divided up by race, and that leads to racially different cultures.

Have been* is the key word there. Not today. Blacks have legal privilege, whites do not.

Blacks resist white opinions... they are... racist because they see white success through a prism of racism. They attribute success to being white and not making good choices. They reject any person that challenges their perception of reality. When black immigrants make 30% more and go to college, poor people are lifted from poverty, white wealthy people fall into poverty.
