Not sure how many people listen to the Crooked Media podcasts (Pod Save America, for example) but there is a new one called "Missing America" and part of it delves into how the US success with Ebola could have carried over into success with COVID, but did not due to poor leadership.

It's a good listen, and a great program--brutally honest about how America has lost it's place, but simultaneously hopeful for the future--so I recommend people listen to it.

It was also never a pandemic. It was a warning. Many experts warned of new viruses in the future and that we may see a pandemic. Nobody listened. Not even Kamala, Obama, or Biden.

You are the joke and clearly have no idea what you are talking about. The issue is not comparing Ebola vs Covid-19 and the Obama administration did not create an Ebola plan.

The Obama administration in response to historical issues like SARS, MERS, and the more recent Ebola (which was never a pandemic and did not pose any material risk at the time):

- Proactively created a pandemic planning group

- Developed a generic plan outlining criteria for the gov't to assess any situation, described how the different agencies should work together, and identified response capabilities e.g. DPA, national stockpile, etc.

- Socialized the plan with incoming Trump administration officials

Whereas the Trump administration

1. Immediately disbanded the pandemic planning group on taking office

2. (In the face of an actual pandemic) ignored the planning playbook they were given and put the President's son-in-law in charge of coordinating response which he was totally unequipped to do and creating unnecessary confusion amongst gov't agencies.

3. Spent months alternating between running around confused like the Keystone Cops or simply living in denial because it just a little flu that will go away.

So tell me, which administration reacted as adults in a reasonably organized and thoughtful manner to their situation? And which one was totally disorganized and incoherent in its response? That is what the issue is...not the differences between the two public health threats.
