I am so, so sorry, guys. I am sorry for calling you guys out for the hypocrisy slide you guys slip 'n slide on.

*Phew* who knew that saying sorry after killing innocent children was all it took for forgiveness, I guess that spares me from the wrath of all your bullshit.

I hope you guys can forgive me for being disgusted in your nonchalant attitudes on this matter.

If you guys can forgive the death of children, I hope you guys can forgive me.

Again, sorry.

@ivangrozny: I have to apologize to you, because I can't agree with you since you're Canadian.

The hive-mind of the Faux-Proggresives have called me back to the arrogant layer.

I tried to make sense with the moral rationality that killing innocent people is bad, even if done by accident. I tried to make rationality that if this was under Trump's watch we'd be on page 10+ of this thread at this point, but I'm afraid your thread won't make it past page 3 at this rate.

I am sorry but I have to rescind my words in this thread, because it's more immoral to criticize the Faux-Proggresives than it is to be mad at the death of children.

I am sorry.

Tell me, why shouldn't a country do what's in the best interests of its people? If the people elect government to represent them, and government puts the interests of other nations above their own, then they're not exactly doing their jobs, are they? You piss and moan about the US military, but if we left NATO, focused on our own borders, you'd be whining that we weren't doing enough for our allies.

@jaydan: To be fair Trump had a lot of drone attacks with civilian casualties and nobody gave a damn either. Silver lining and all that, right? With all the division going on, murdering foreign civilians seems to be something that both sides can agree it's basically ok, that's the price of freedom.

7 children murdered in a drone attack, on a urban zone, against a civil target, but hey it's an honest mistake. They already said they're sorry, get over it. Case closed.

In no way this kind of event, and subsequent acceptance from westerns, contribute to the radicalisation of those affected.

@LJS9502_basic: Again, I am sorry, give me forgiveness.

One of the most American things I can possibly do is my right to free speech; it is #1 in fact. We have the right to criticize our own country without consequences. I come from a place of disappointment yet desire for a better tomorrow.

Opposition politics sure is a bitch, you know, and all I've seen since 2016 is endless crossfires of nothing but opposition politics from all sides of the spectrum.

I gravely worry this will be the downfall of our country if we don't get our shit together.

I'll be critical of the left today, because I mostly identify with the left, aka I believe I can put the most sense in the left since I relate the best.

I'll admit, I have not paid attention to the TC until this thread. I don't have a clue what kind of reputation he has on this board, but I can see clearly he's struck a nerve with a lot of you.

But holding grudges against the TC is not why I'm here, I'm here on behalf of some of the responses I see in this thread.

Arrogance rings true when some people have nothing better to say than "**** your corrupted country so we don't have to talk about ours" or anything along those lines rings oh so true.

Opposition for the sake of than discussing real problems that can lead to fixing shit, doesn't get anything done as much as pouring more gasoline into the fire.

I want you to be better, I want me to be better; I want everyone to be better, but none of this will happen for as long as we look at things from only one perspective and perpetually insist that's the only perspective at all.

@ghost_of_phobos: Refer to my post above cause that applies to you as well. I'm getting tired of this "no u" grade of opposition politics I've been seeing nonstop since 2016. WE ARE ALL GUILTY.

And for the record, Trump got impeached twice, an unprecedented historical event. And yet the two reasons that got him impeached weren't even the only triggers which we tried to get him impeached for. We tried to get him impeached over war crimes, but alas what ended what ended up biting him in the ass was an insurrection, and what was the first one again...a porn star? Jog my memory because my brain is mush at this point due to all the stupid Trump put our country through.

You've only noticed that since 2016? I've been following politics since the 1990s. It's not new. Clintons killed civilians in Serbia to appease their middle eastern allies, Bush Sr wasn't much better. None of this is new.

@jaydan: It's "no u" response. You said if this was the other guy this thread would be 10 pages long, I just pointed out that nobody cared about it back then either. Because plenty of civilians were murdered by drone attacks during his mandate too.

@eoten: 2016 onward is a different chapter in American politics. Yes we can go down the pipeline and point out all the heinous things other U.S. presidents have done, but I'm choosing this current chapter since it is - current - so things don't get too convoluted. 2016 was the start of a new era.

@ghost_of_phobos: for the record, I am not okay with the killing of innocent lives, whether it's a current or past president.

The thing about Biden, is he's the anti-Trump candidate after all, more than any policy of his anyone's ever supported: he was the Anti-Trump choice.

There's reason why the two must be scrutinized together.

I'm not gonna dig through old threads just to prove you a point, but I can tell you I've had enough field days and outrage over Trump and I've seen how Trump news gets the page counts going. People were obsessed with him after all.

Biden on the other hand, I get a big sense of a "it was wrong, but so be it" attitude from the same people. What gives?

Some of you should check your thought process.

Intentional act - of course it was intentional. They hit what they fired at.

Unintended consequences - Nonsense. These are expected consequences. You can't fire a hellfire missile at what you think is a major car bomb parked in a residential area without expecting collateral civilian casualties.

You expect civilian casualties and that goes into the calculus of whether to fire or not. You 'justify' it in the name of the greater good. How much worse would it have been if it was actually a righteous act, if there were actually major secondary explosions from a car full of explosives?

The people that authorized this expected civilian casualties and you are delusional if you think otherwise.

Mistake - more like utter incompetence. They had no idea who they were targeting. They had no idea what to even look for. They simply picked a car parked in relative proximity to what they thought in the past might have been a terror safe house and then started following it around for hours. They never ID'd the car or driver. They simply made a series of assumptions on the basis of nothing.

The whole thing is the result of two incompetent decisions. The first was failing to secure Abbey Gate and letting a suicide bomber walk right up to your soldiers.

The second was letting your anger and desire for retribution lead you down an imbecilic path leading to what is effectively a war crime.

But it's OK because the US apologized. No it is not. It is terrible policy to fire hellfire missiles in residential civilian areas. Period.

Aah, it seems the clown who said he's tell China in advance if Trump was up to anything, Mark Milley, was involved in the airstrike who described the airstrike as "righteous" even though it hit an aid worker, not a militant.

I didn't cherry-pick, I got a literal screen-cap of the definition.

Are you a person? You are a noun. You are the noun definition of Nationalist, at least that's what you personally announced in this thread.

How is it: after you personally announced you are a Nationalist in this thread, and me saying "Okay, you are a Nationalist. This is the definition" a personal attack? You called your own shots, but hey if you feel truly hurt over your own labels, feel free to report yourself.

What site did you use? Based on the quoted section, appears it was taken from here. But then it appears ", especially to the exclusion or detriment of the interests of other nations" was omitted from your definition in the post. Which would be rather bizarre to omit from a definition.

Ironic. If I'm a true Trump supporter, wouldn't it be more characteristic for me to spat election fraud or deny the insurrection as nothing more than "passionate Trump supporters"? I have never done anything even as close to a murmure to such fallacies. When's the last time I denied vaccines or linked you to Fox News?

Hmmmm, you got nothing.

I would not be surprised at all if I happen to be the only person in this entire thread that has personally met Bernie Sanders in real life and given him real support. That's what all you keyboard warriors are lacking: the ability to actually go outside and do shit that you believe in. Keep bookmarking them news articles for the next time you feel the need to keyboard warrior.

Steveo wasn't the one running his mouth in here, that was jayden. And that above is the first description you see, further proving the other definition was indeed cherrypicked. Want more sauce?

Nationalism | Definition of Nationalism by Merriam-Webster

1: loyalty and devotion to a nationespecially : a sense of national consciousness (see CONSCIOUSNESS sense 1c) exalting one nation above all others and placing primary emphasis on promotion of its culture and interests as opposed to those of other nations or supranational groups

Nationalism is no one thing, it has different branches and trains of thought. He just cherrypicked whatever fit the narrative he set out for me and ran with it. In this case it just means I really don't give a **** about what nations think and put what is best for this one above what is best for others. I will always pick what is in the best interests of my home over some clump of dirt I don't live on.

@thenation: I never said Stevo was the one trolling. I was clearing up your omission.

You said stevo pointed it out, he did not. I didn't omit anything, that was what is the first thing says. The other was cherrypicked.

The US and allies have killed more innocent people than ISIS and the Taliban combined, according to the United Nation’s report.

I just want to point out that the "what is nationalism" talk is one of the silliest debates I've seen here.

Oh look, New York Times doesn't hesitate to pounce on an opportunity to use misleading statistics to crap on the US and defend ISIS. What else is new?

@eoten: Oh look, Eoten doesnt hesitate to attack a source without saying how or why the numbers are wrong or provide a counter source. What else is new?

Do better. How are their numbers misleading? How are they defending ISIS? Back your words up.

Oh, wow, that makes it all better.

Will America admit to all its other war crimes for the last 80 years?

I shouldn't have to disprove a source I've disproven in the past as being uncredible propaganda peddlers. The fact you think they have credibility despite how many lies they are caught in says more about you at this point. And why is it inaccurate? It's easy to bullshit with statistics and stupid people fall for bullshit statistics. ISIS targets civilians, the US does not. ISIS uses civilians as human shields and operate out of civilian buildings for protection, the US does not. When fighting a group of pussies who hide behind women and children, the likeliness of collateral damage is much greater.
