Almost every country in the world will be expected to have something like a vaccine passport, and it makes sense, at least for the next few years. Every business where there's a large collection of people in confined spaces should have the right to ask for a vaccine passport.

I heard stories about the commie bastard Florida governor making vaccine passports illegal. This new law has pissed off the cruise industry and they're threatening to leave.

There's no need to tip toe around the uneducated fools mainly on the right but few on the left as well. Give then the finger and tell them too bad. If they don't like it they can stay locked up in their homes

Nothing. The right just wants to cry. Whenever you go overseas you may be required certain vaccines against disease. This is no different.

@LJS9502_basic: exactly, its the same thing as requiring hep B vaccine to travel to certain countries. It just looks like politics and it's dumb that biden is even making concessions for those idiots that refuse to get vaccinated. It looks like biden is tip toeing around the issue but there's no need to do so. Requiring vaccinates for flights and cruises is a no brainer. Other businesses should decide for themselves but all their employees should at least have vaccines if there's a lot of contact with people.

Already people are faking vaccine cards. I think we need a more official reliable form of it.

What's wrong with it is that a specific collection of the population is being really irrational about getting a vaccine despite increasingly clear evidence that it's the only way to derail the covid spread.

They get pissy because they forced to face the fact that there might be consequences for refusing to be a functional member of society.

We need ID to pretty much do anything, so just extend that to the ID process (similar to like a donor tag).

If it is used for cross border travel then it is fine. They should not be used for anything internal to a country and that is the use case that many people disagree with, including people on the left.

@SUD123456: it would be tough to do for other things but I would make it mandatory for any student coming to campus, for domestic flights, cruises, concerts, clubs, sporting events, etc. I would exempt grocery stores, shopping malls.

What's wrong with vaccine passports?

Easy to answer. EVERYTHING! It is my right to get the vaccine or not. I should not be forced into getting something just so I can do things in my own country. If you have the vaccine why does it matter if I don't get it? No private business has any right to know what I have done medically period!

The vaccine should never be forced on ANYONE!

Please explain how a vaccine passport would force you to get a vaccine. Are you also obligated by law to travel to other countries?

Also you're wrong. A business does have the right to required medical records if they so choose before serving you. Anti-vaxxer is not a protected demographic.

People will have restricted movement within their own country or restrictions on events within their own country. And in many countries there is still a significant shortage on vaccines.

No one is taking your right to decide whether to take a vaccine or not. However, society DOES have a right to protect itself. Which means your decision comes with consequences. You have NO right to inflict your bad decisions on others and the DO have a right to be protected from YOU.

I know. I don't see the big deal in providing proof you're not contagious before interacting is a potential dangerous situation. One individuals rights are not more important the rights of others.

At the moment I would say that the issue is that there are certain age groups that the vaccine has still not been made available to such as people younger than 16.

Once that's cleared up though I would say that there's absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Nope. False analogy. Allowing someone to vote doesn't harm others. Try again but think first.

We cannot reach herd immunity if the population doesn't adhere and the virus then mutates and the vaccine isn't as effective. Dude, this has been stated over and over. Pay better attention but not to Fox. :)

Please quit making up lies. I do not watch any media news. All media TV news is complete biased trash and I do not watch it. So spreading falsehoods is not a good look to make a point.

I can form my own opinions, and I am not getting the vaccine. I think we will be just fine.

I have no idea what Fox even talks about. Are they really telling people not to get the vaccine? I honestly don't think any news source should say if you should get it or not. They should have experts come on their programs and make recommendations, but if a news outlet is truly saying that without experts, they are in the wrong period.

I am selfish and still the answer is NOPE!

I have not watched Fox news in YEARS! Why the $%^$ do you think you have any right to say what I do and what I don't do? I noticed Fox view was getting really skewed so I stopped watching it before Trump was ever elected. The shit they were saying about Obama, was complete BS how they treated some of those stories about Obama. Even though I didn't care for Obama I didn't like how Fox treated him.

I SAID I WAS SELFISH! Do you even read?

Atm I got problems with it, when the vaccine is in such shortage, at least here in Europe. I got no issues with other countries requiring it if you want to visit though.

They are maybe 2-3 weeks away from those passports here. I might get my first vaccine in 8-12 weeks. I can't call today and make an appointment to get it.

It was not a question. You flat out lied, your words:

"Stop lying, nobody buys you don’t watch fox. And yes they do, they spout anti mask and vaccine nonsense everyday."

Just something I noticed from the left. If you are not on your side you automatically assume that person is on the right and watches Fox. It doesn't make a shit what it is. I have noticed this from my friends that are more left leaning also. I have voted independent in the last 3 presidential elections.

But hell I have even been told by people in the left that if you vote Independent you are voting for Trump. Hell people have said that to me on this very forum. So like WTF!

@Xabiss: You would think after our last discussion you would figure out what a lie is. How is asking how is something not selfish not a question? Seems like one.

People don’t believe you because you cite their talking points. That is also not a lie, we just don’t believe you.

What you said about the left is a lie, most don’t assume that. You also assumed everyone who thinks you are right wing and watch fox is left wing. That is not true.

Hell, I have seen the right do the same only worse. I have been called a communist atheist who watches CNN and hates America. Why? Because I don’t like Trump. The right does that alot, I’ve seen you do it.

FYI, I’m not a communist, atheist nor do I watch CNN or hate America.

I don't know where it stops here. Europe/EU is exporting more than it uses on its own people it seems. Some weeks ago 21 million doses where found in Italy, marked for export. More than twice the doses Italy had received at that time I think.

You assume and I can do that same and I have never called you out like that. But you have assumed a lot of things about me and called me a liar on multiple occasions on multiple posts. I dont like being called a liar so from here on out don't respond to me and I will not respond to you. Easy enough because you literally make things go off topic and you add nothing to the actual post.

They are making up rules on the fly when it comes to vaccines so that’s why I am not rushing out to get it. They put it out before knowing if it was safe for pregnant women, and they have recently been mixing different t brands for first and second doses (if your first was a moderna and they ran out by the time you need your second shot they will give you an astra zeneca) even with the astra Zeneca, some countries have banned it but somehow it is safe for other countries. The whole operation is too fly by night. Btw I’m not a right winger whatsoever.

Covid isn’t safe for you. I’d take the chance.

Statistically speaking, it's not that dangerous for him either. Unless he's over 70, or has serious pre-existing health conditions.

Statistically safer than the risks of the vaccine? That should be the question. As far as I’ve researched, I’ll place my money on the vaccine.

I understand his trepidation about the continuing shifting sands about these vaccines, but medicine is an imperfect discipline with inherent risks no matter what you do or how long you wait. This doesn’t just apply to vaccines.

It’s a game of relativity, not absolutism.

Where does it stop? The Paroit Act in 2001 was supposed to be for our security now it is used against the citizens. What about the next crisis will you need papers from the government to trave within the US. Sounds like Communist Russia. We lost a number of our rights all in the name of safety during this pandemic which if the government has their way will never end.

The US has done vaccine passports before when smallpox was a thing. It's not unprecedented, nor is it a big deal.

Lots of democrats voted yes for it also. Lets not pretend. Yes, it was more republicans, but it was pretty bipartisan.
