Have you ever read political comments on facebook? The press is not involved.

Have you ever gone to work? Do you have friends in both political parties? Chances are at whatever gathering you are at, people aren't strangling each other. FB posts are trash - people can write mean stuff when its anonymous or hidden behind a keyboard. But I dont see people make comments or act like that in public. At least not in the armageddon fashion that some people try to push. Yes, some people can be childish, but the vast majority of this country seem to be decent folk that can tolerate differences.
