Who wants a Sonic Heroes 2? I was going to make a poll, but I can't because I just recently did one. A Sonic Heroes 2 would be great.

Since Sonic Heroes was near-perfect, maybe they should do another. After all, Sonic Heroes is pretty much it's own franchise.

Well, if they were to make a Sonic Heroes 2, I'd like them to make some improvements.

For example, like in every boss battle, each of your characters (speed, fly, and power) should have a role in the battle. Unlike in Metal Madness in which speed formation was useless.

I'd also like for there to be another team which could consist of any characters, maybe it could have Eggman in it together with two new characters or two robots that he built.

Also, I'd like each team to have different stages...one thing I didn't like about the original Sonic Heroes is that each team pretty much had the same stages except they vary in difficulty which kind of bored me after playing the second team.

They might also want to add a unique feature that comes with each character such as Rouge being able to do the Screw Kick or Big being able to do optional fishing in various fishing spots throughout each level, or maybe mach speed areas that can only be entered through using Sonic, or even Knuckles and Rouge being able to climb up walls like in the Sonic Adventure series.

mmm. I don't know. I'd prefer a real 3D platforming game with just Sonic. SSR is going to be cool, but it's not a traditional platformer.

Oh, and I made it a poll for you :)

Thanks for making the poll, sonicphc. I would've done one, but I couldn't because at that time I did one within 24 hours.

No, it wasn't, but it was more dangerous to use.

Platyphyllum

That is a good idea for story mode! But they should have an optional mode where you can choose for a team to play in another team's stage IF the player wishes to.
Alot of work and effort went into making those Sonic Heroes stages. Alot more worh than they did on SA & SA2's stages, because Sonic Heroes had longer and faster stages. I think that's one reason why Sonic Team didn't give each team exclusive stages.

I agree that those abilities should be in the game. And Big's fishing MUST be optional. ^_^

Of course it is. To be back on the topic I really want a second Sonic Heroes because the gameplay was so fun.

1. Oh, I see, I thought you couldn't use speed formation because the characters always said it was useless and I didn't want to risk dying if I tried homing attacking Metal madness :(

2. Yeah, they should have an option to play another team's stage (or maybe even secret areas in the other team's stage that can only be accessed by the other team that isn't the team that the stage started with....er.

I also do see that a lot of work went into Sonic Heroes' stages but with next gen technology, they should be able to fit in some individiual stages for each team with the same size as the ones for the GC right? Or maybe I'm wrong :P

3. Yeah, it should be optional!:P I also have other ideas.:

Amy should be able to use her hammer a bit more usefully (in Sonic Heroes, it took her forever to swing it)
Cream should be able to do an extra Thunder Shoot using Cheese.
Shadow can use his Air Shoes to float in the air and move just for a while.
E-123 Omega should be able to make slow descents using hovering.
Charmy should be able to do damage by stinging enemies.
Espio already had enough extra abilities in Sonic Heroes like throwing shurikens and being invisible
I can't really think of anything for Vector...
Tails should be able to throw dummy rings whenever he wants.

I also have more ideas:

1. Have remakes of the levels from the older Sonic games.

2. Have more missions than just the regular and extra.

3. Have at least 2 new teams.

E-123 Omega should be able to make slow descents using hovering.

Platyphyllum

He does with triangle dive. He even does it by himself.

Charmy should be able to do damage by stinging enemies.

Platyphyllum

He does when the other members are absent.

Tails should be able to throw dummy rings whenever he wants.
Platyphyllum

Yes, but more importantly, he should have his Tail Swipe attack. That was cool! Especially in SA after you got the Rythm Badge.

Wow, um... I seem to be somewhat on the other side regarding the improvements I'd like to see:

1) Only 1 or 2 teams - Sega has the habit of creating few stages and many characters/teams to add replay value. I didn't like having to play each stage at least 8 times (twice for each team), especially when the changes made to it for each team where minimal.
2) Multiple missions for each stage - Instead of having Team Dark kill the 100 enemies, Rose to collect those rings and Chaotix to do a random mission, let them all be Team Sonic missions.
3) Lots of stages - These 14 stages left me desire for more. They did make up with their length. On Super Hard mode I need 8-9 minutes to finish Final Fortress...
4) EVEN longer stages! - ... and I still wanted it to last more.
5) More abilities for characters
6) Bosses can be hit at multiple spots, and each spot has a weakness and a strength (ie. takes half damage from Speed, normal from Flight and double from Power)
7) Character abandoning - When a character dies, you do not lose a life, but instead continue with the remaining. That means that parts of the stage that require the lost character can be completed by any type, but with a greater difficulty (For instance if you lose Tails and there is a pit you need to fly over, then enemies will appear that will require Sonic to home attack them). This means that stages can be completed with every character
8 ) Super Hard mode actually BE what it says. That wasn't even Hard mode.
9) And finally... let us skip the credits if we've already seen them once.

Um, I know. What is it supposed to mean? I created the account in GameFAQs, and since GameFAQs is at least 3 times faster than Gamespot, I use that instead.

I actually like the characters they make. I honestly think everyone would think Sonic is way boring if every game was just Sonic vs. Eggman. The characters give me something to look forward to such as their role in the next Sonic game and such.

Hehe! In SA2, you had to play each stage 5 times! Twice is no big deal.

3) Lots of stages - These 14 stages left me desire for more. They did make up with their length.

Dark_Mits

Well, it had more speed stages than SA and SA2.

4) EVEN longer stages! - ... and I still wanted it to last more.

Dark_Mits

Well, Sonic Heroes is an improvement in that area. Its stages were longer than the other 3D Sonic games.

5) More abilities for characters
Dark_Mits

Not too many, though. Sonic Heroes was fine, excexpt Tails should use his tail swipe atttack.

6) Bosses can be hit at multiple spots, and each spot has a weakness and a strength (ie. takes half damage from Speed, normal from Flight and double from Power)
Dark_Mits

They already did that in Sonic Heroes. :?

8 ) Super Hard mode actually BE what it says. That wasn't even Hard mode.

Dark_Mits

Yeah, it was. SA2 had "Hard Mode" which wasn't even hard. Sonic Heroes did a much better job with "Super Hard Mode". Sorry if it disappointed you, though.

9) And finally... let us skip the credits if we've already seen them once.
Dark_Mits

No big deal, use the controller to reset the game.
Still, that is good idea.

1) Um, 8 is bigger than 5

6) Not quite. The attack damage was always the same. It wasn't like "on this part of the boss flight does 2X while Speed does 1/2 damage." Speed was always 1,2, or 3 based on level X the number of people who followed when using a homing attack. Flight was always 1,2, or 3 based on level unless you got unlocky and a level 3 attack did 2. Power was always 3, 6, and 9.

Hehe! In SA2, you had to play each stage 5 times! Twice is no big deal.
I liked the secondary missions, since they were different for each team. However the first mission was always "Reach the end", with some changes to the stage (starting/ending point, enemies, platforms). I think 5 missions per stage is ideal. Finish the stage, defeat all enemies, finish stage without getting hit (maybe I'm too hard on this here), a random mission different for each stage (like Chaotix's missions), and finish stage under (insert time).

Yeah, it was. SA2 had "Hard Mode" which wasn't even hard. Sonic Heroes did a much better job with "Super Hard Mode". Sorry if it disappointed you, though.
It still wasn't THAT hard though. It felt a tiny little harder than Team Dark.

No big deal, use the controller to reset the game. Still, that is good idea.
You could?!?! I have the PC version and I'm almost certain it isn't mentioned in the manual. I'll go check it again...

And, yeah, power does triple much damage. That was Power's main advantage basically.

Another point that came to mind. Make Flight last longer and be able to fly higher.

Make it so fight's gauge is a time based thing rather than distance based, as it makes more sense for a character to get tired over time than to be able to fly infinitely until he's moved so far.

One flaw I noticed was that while you're flying you can only go as high as you can fly, even if you hit a spring-like thing (IE: Frog Forest fruit) that should propel you high upwards.

Indeed! Not only is it more... realistic, it also does not permit you to stay suspended in air for too long. I thought of even more elaboration on this idea: Make it a fatigue gauge. It depletes normally when Tails is not moving but flying, deplete at a lesser rate when he is descending and faster when ascending or moving.

Yeah, they should make a secone one. It's a fun game when I played it. And if they do, they should make it for Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3. But then again, they should also make current system like PS2, Gamecube, and Xbox.

No big deal, use the controller to reset the game. Still, that is good idea.
You could?!?! I have the PC version and I'm almost certain it isn't mentioned in the manual. I'll go check it again...

Dark_Mits

I'm referring to the GameCube version. The best version.

Make it so fight's gauge is a time based thing rather than distance based, as it makes more sense for a character to get tired over time than to be able to fly infinitely until he's moved so far.

sonicphc

I kinda liked that, though. It gave you more time to think about your next move, or wait for certain moving platforms that you missed. Personally, I don't care if it seems un-realistic. A flying fox with 2 tails is unrealistic, but I love it and think it's cool.

One flaw I noticed was that while you're flying you can only go as high as you can fly, even if you hit a spring-like thing (IE: Frog Forest fruit) that should propel you high upwards.

sonicphc

I noticed that too! Good point!

Yeah, the gamecube version is the best. The Xbox version is okay, but the PS2 version is terrible.

Um, I think the PC version is even better than the console versions. If you are referring to the graphics or audio quality, the PC has resolution of up to 1280x1024 with options to set the quality from LOW (PS2 maybe) to HIGH (better than GC, I've seen screenshots) and the framerate from 15fps to 60fps (which if you have a fast PC you won't experience slowdowns) and the clipping from NEAR (PS2?) to FAR(GC?), and the volume for the BMG and SE (sound effects). I don't know about the gameplay and glitches since I haven't tried any other version, the only problem I've encountered is with the camera sometimes looking at a strange angle (like pointing on the ground) but I rarely run into any such issues and they are remedied by just jumping or switching formation (they occur like once every 10 stages and they seem to occur only when I do the triple-attack with Knuckles). Not to mention the customisation that can be done through hacks (see Sonic CulT forums).

Oh, my bad. Yeah, customization is great, but uhh... buying a fast PC is more expensive than buying a GameCube.

Of course. Seriously, I opt for console over PC since PC has to boot up, get checked for viruses, crash when you use stupid built-in programs to their full potential *cough*moviemaker*cough*. It's a handy machine and all, but I may wanna browse the web for codes, FAQs, or other stuff while playing my console game. (Yeah, I'm glad I can do that since my tube TV is right next to my LCD desktop in my room.) Now that's really handy!

Yeah, yeah, I know. I wasn't gonna make a 2,000-page-list or anything. LOL!

But I don't have much to say about a Sonic Heroes 2. Sonic Heroes is cool enough on its own, so I don't care if a second one is released or not. However, it is more than worthy of a sequel.

SH2 would be a good idea. But I am a huge fan of the Adventure series and I think SA2 was really underrated.

Yeah, but it'd have to faster than SA2. Maybe even faster than SA.

That game is somewhat disappointing to me, but it was still great.

Definitely. Shooting and hunting really slowed both down (and I'm not even considering Amy and Big). Hm, maybe I should revive the Sonic Adventure 3 topic and add a poll to it too.

They even created Sonic The Hedgehog. I think it is only a matter of time before we see Sonic Adventure 3. Maybe in 5, maybe in 20 years.

That's cuz it was the best 3D Sonic game. Sonic Team actually did it right that time.
