How much did Ole Miss and Ohio State bribe someone to get in the bowls?
They weren't even close to the top teams this season. Miss has it's one win against Florida and Ohio State feasted on the weakest conference in the nation and got spanked the first time they took on a real team.
Ole Miss didn't have to bribe anyone, they finished 2nd in the SEC West. They've won five straight, including one over LSU. They also only lost to Alabama by 4.How much did Ole Miss and Ohio State bribe someone to get in the bowls?

While I agree that Ohio State has no business being in the Fiesta Bowl, calling the Big Ten the "weakest conference in the nation" is downright ridiculous. Hell, it isn't even the worst of the BCS conferences right now.How much did Ole Miss and Ohio State bribe someone to get in the bowls?

What is worse?
The only team that might be a good team is Penn State. Besides that it's a bunch of pretenders and never beens.
Ohio State can't compete on a national level. Michigan State actually allows more points then it scores, Northwestern and Iowa are 1 game away from .500 and Sota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Purdue, Michigan, and Indiana are all past awful with Michigan being the only one that has a plan for how to come back.
The Big 10 is a wreck right now
Cincinnati? I would have liked Texas vs. Alabama :?X360PS3AMD05Hmmm that would be an entertaining game. Too bad the BCS Bowls don't pit teams by BCS rank.
Ole Miss is a good team. Beat Florida, LSU, and Georgia.. Ohh yeah and barely lost to Alabama..
Only thing I have to say is it should be Boise over OSU.
I think Boise St. is a better team than Utah.LongWayDown3Probably but i think alot of who gets in from non BCS confrences has to do with the previous year. I think Boise got in I think Hawaii got in last year because of what Boise had down the previous year. I think Boise is not getting in this year because of what Hawaii didn't do last year
boise state is way better than utah they should get the bcs bowl game rapsrule4Umm No!! Utah and Boise state both deserve bowls.. But I dont get how BOise state is was better then Utah?
They didn't play Georgia. Florida was the only team from the East they beat, they lost to Vandy and South Carolina.Ole Miss is a good team. Beat Florida, LSU, and Georgia.. Ohh yeah and barely lost to Alabama..

And the ACC and Big East are still worse BCS conferences. Not to mention the Sun Belt is probably the worst conference in all of major college football. How much did Ole Miss and Ohio State bribe someone to get in the bowls?

I am pretty sure Northwestern is 9-3, Iowa 8-4. Also, the ACC is weaker, the Big East is and besides USC, so is the Pac-10. Hell, even the SEC looked weaker this year, though they and the Big 12 are clearly the strongest right now.How much did Ole Miss and Ohio State bribe someone to get in the bowls?

lol wrong. The Big Ten was the 3rd strongest behind the B12 and SEC. OSU had the 9th SOS in the nation, having faced 5 ranked opponents, beat 3 of em, and as you know they teams they lost to were ranked #1 and #3. Boise went undefeated and i applaued them, but it was against one of the weakest (Rated 105th i believe) schedules in D-1 football. Utah on the other hand is very deserving, and they were rewarded with a BCS bowl.
Besides, although the buckeyes have had recent troubles in big games, they are still 4-2 overall in BCS bowls, and OSU vs Texas is hard to pass up, be it for rating, money, and the fact they just had a recent home and home (each with a win).
It's kind of funny really, and proof to me people like to jump on hate bandwagons, I never heard how okla. is 0-4 in BCS games, getting blown out in 2 of them. Before florida, OSU was 4-0 in BCS games and considered one of the better big game teams. Oh well, we'll see....I honestly think it will be a fun game to watch. The coaches need to do a better job mix play packages.
I think Boise St. is a better team than Utah.LongWayDown3Yes. Hell Yes. A THOUSAND TIMES OVER HELL YES. BSU is only 3-0 against Utah in the last decade. They're only 13-0 against the MWC. They were not challenged in a game so far this year. The fact that Utah is going to a BCS bowl and BSU is not simply speaks to how idiotic the notion of preseason rankings are. There is absolutely no justification for a 12-0 Boise State team that played one of the most exciting BCS games in recent memory in the 2006 Fiesta Bowl getting the shaft this year. Three undefeated seasons in the last five years and only one BCS bowl invite. The BCS system sucks.
I don't see how anyone can complain about Utah getting in over Boise St. The Mountain West was very strong this season. They went a combined 25-11 in non-conference play and 9-4 against teams from the BCS conferences. Boise St is more deserving than Ohio St, but not more deserving than Utah.Oleg_Huzwog1+ this is right.. OSU is the only team that does not belong over Boise St...
Incase yall forgot Utah was the first to start the Mid Major crashing the BCS school in the games.. Utah is a very talented team and they are fun to watch..
They were not challenged in a game so far this year. .nocoolnamejim
Not challenged in a game this year?
http://boisestate.rivals.com/boxscore.asp?Game=30752
I'd say allowing Oregon to come back to within a touchdown with a redshirt freshman at the helm would be considered a challenge. Oregon gave you more of a challenge then you would know, with our 5th string(considered a redshirt as he wasn't exactly planning on playing all year) quarterback bringing us back to within 5 in the last quarter of the game. You can thank whoever gave Jeremiah Masoli the concussion on the first play of the game for your perfect season and your hopes of a BCS game.
I just want to know how Ole Miss got into a bowl against Texas Tech? Tech is going to blast them. Ohio State deserves a bowl, but they're better matched up against Ole Miss. A Texas-Texas Tech rematch would be great to watch.Yagr_ZeroBecause that's the best bowl game for a Big 12 school and the second best for a SEC school. Jevan Snead has a lot to prove playing back in Texas and while Ole Miss has a very good defensive line, the secondary will need to step up.
I watched this game from beginning to end and never for a minute felt nervous about the final result. Boise went into a prevent defense in the last quarter and the game came close, but that is nothing compared to the string of barely escape wins that Utah had. What did they have? Five wins by less than a single touchdown? Now, I'm not arguing that at the end of the day Utah didn't deserve to go. I AM, however, stating that if Boise St. had started where Utah did in the preseason rankings and Utah where Boise did, then the positions would be reversed and Utah fans would be complaining about being screwed. Just like in 2004.[QUOTE="nocoolnamejim"]

I haven't forgotten that Utah was the first team to go to a BCS game. But back in 2004 when Utah went, Boise was ALSO undefeated THAT season. It makes twice in the last five years that both teams have ended undefeated but Utah has gone instead of Boise. Think about it this way, Boise went on to play a much tougher and much higher ranked Louisville squad that year and ended up with a four point loss if I remember right. Utah went on to play a really lousy Pitt squad that so didn't deserve to be in a BCS game that they changed the qualifications for being in a BCS bowl the following year. Imagine an alternate timeline where Boise State goes to a BCS bowl that year instead of Utah. There is little question that they would have also beaten Pitt. Combined with a victory over Oklahoma in the 2006 Fiesta Bowl and they probably would have started the season higher in the preseason rankings than Utah this year. This means that they'd be playing their third BCS bowl in five years. Yes, this is an alternate timeline, but it adequately serves to show the idiotic way that BCS bowl invites are presently handed out. Again, I'm not saying Utah isn't deserving, but the two things 1) preseason rankings and 2) no playoff are so dumb as a policy for college football as to defy comprehension.1+ this is right.. Explain to me why you think Boise St was more deserving then OSU? I'm not disputing that Boise St is a good team, because they are. However I won't also disupte that they had one of the weakest schedules in D-1 football (108th ranked). Anyone with decent talent could of went undefeated with that schedule, OSU faced 2 Top 5 teams, 2 top 20 teams, and 1 top 25 team. Won 3, and lost to #1 ranked USC, and played #3 PSU down to the wire. Utah didn't have the SOS that OSU had either, but they played some very tough games this year, and as a result are a more pleasing BCS pick.
Say what you want about OSU and it's recent problems, but are still a top five BCS program record wise at 4-2. They simply need to regroup and get a freakin new Off. Cord that can take advantage of their talent. Believe me though, even after what I've said, I also agree they need a playoff model of some sort.

plus everyone talks about the big 12 and how good they are but i guess i am the only person to think they arent really that great. they Oklahoma state, Texas Tech, Texas, and Oklahoma played each other but who else have they really played other than those four teams.... nevada, tcu, western illinois state or something like that.
plus i didn't include missouri because they are the msot overrated team in the big 12 and arent really that good
i'm not saying OSU should be in a bowl game but they are definately more deserving than BSUsquitsquat
Baloney. The only sort of person who would say that is an OSU fan. All the relevant polls (AP, USA Today, Harris, BCS) are unanimous in ranking Boise St ahead of Ohio St.

I object, Kansas and Missouri are bother good teams. Big 12 is the strongest confrence BY FAR.
