@GameboyTroy: that's his look for everything lol
I RRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYYYY want Broncos to win, but I don't see how. Like, there is no way Broncos should be in this game.
I wouldn't mind seeing Demarcus Ware get a ring lol.
Ware owns!

Indeed one of the best at what he did. I'm happy for him even though he was a cowgirl.
Meanwhile the cowgirls preferred greg hardy...
Well, time to be depressed for six months.
You can watch the NBA or the NHL or the Summer Olympics if you want.
@GameboyTroy:
You forgot MLB =(
I did that on purpose. He'll say that its boring. People say that its boring. An MLB thread isn't stickied.

It's boring. I watch NBA, but nothing is close to NFL.
How do you feel about the NHL and the Summer Olympics?
So where is everyone at with their teams leading up to free agency?
I can't believe I am saying this, but the Lions need to cut Calvin Johnson and they need to do it QUICKLY. I think it is obvious he doesn't want to play in Detroit anymore if not at all. Regardless of the slight chance there is at keeping him around, is it really worth it to keep a declining player around who is seriously thinking about retiring especially at his salary?
I appreciate what he has done is career and think he will go down as an all-time great, but what he has been doing this off-season is just fucked. If you are going to retire, then retire. I can respect that. But now we sit here months later with no decision from him STILL with free agency just about to start and his camp is sitting there saying it could still be several weeks before he makes a decision...
If the team needs to replace you, they need to know before free agency in case there are some good options worth exploring there. Yet we are on the verge of free agency and Calvin is sitting here saying it will still be SEVERAL WEEKS before a decision? Really? The months since the end of the season weren't enough? Yet we hear that you supposedly told the coaches and people in your family you were going to retire DURING the season and grabbed the ball after the last game of the season? You really don't know if you want to retire?
What I have heard is there is some money thing where Calvin gets more money by not retiring, but by getting cut instead I do believe so this is a ploy to just get more money IMO and the Lions just need to rip the band-aid off. They are in the middle of a rebuild anyways so who cares? The whole point of rebuilding is to end up with a younger team loaded with potential talent, not to hang on fading superstars.
It will be interesting to see how the rebuild goes. I do like that Quinn has really come in and shook things up. He very quietly replaced most of the front office and coaching staff and has already made a big mark on the team. Time will tell if Quinn is the man who can turn the Lions into a consistent winner. I will say I have a lot more faith in him then Millen and his clowns who have been ruining this team since the beginning of the 2,000's...
Why.., what? Even if he is declining, the guy still demands double coverage or the D is toast. He opens up the secondary for everyone else.
For skins, glad they tagged kirk. He hasn't proved anything yet and didn't beat or played particularly well against a single winning team this year.

He is set to make 24 freaking million next year, has been missing games these last couple years because of injury, has flat out not done a damn thing during some of the games he WAS in, but most importantly he apparently can't decide if he even wants to play anymore. Not only that, but if you watch the Lions games he seems to have almost no presence on the field. He also is just a possession receiver now. He gets no YAC anymore and can't get down the field very fast to be much of a deep threat.
If they cut him now they know where they stand roster wise for free agency. If they don't, he still might just fucking retire after the talent pool has been drained in free agency and they will be stuck having to draft a WR in what I don't believe is an amazing WR draft class, but is a draft class deep at OTHER positions they have a need in.
I might feel different if this whole "I might retire" debacle wasn't still going on. The man refuses to make a fucking decision though and free agency is just a few days away. Would rather the team knew what they had going into free agency rather than not.
@LostProphetFLCL: @Chutebox:
No thoughts on Manning retiring?
It was the right move and I am glad he made the right decision. He can now ride off into the sunset a champion and he surely has earned his place in the hall of fame.
Free agent frenzy time!

@Chutebox: I am sure this news will make you happy.
RG3 being released by the Redskins.
Shocker lol
It took them long enough to dump him. Been a huge hindrance for the team IMO.
@LostProphetFLCL: They were hoping for a 7th round trade. But no one was dumb enough
I bet someone will pick him up though. For some reason there was talk of whether the Lions should pick him up as their back-up QB. I say HELL NO!
Who would have thought that Demarco Murray would be with the Titans? What's next? Forte or Lacy signing with the Giants?

Calvin Johnson officially retires.
Thank God this didn't drag on into free agency and he can go out with some respectability.
He is a true legend and a shoe-in for the hall of fame. It is a shame his career had to be shorter but I honestly do think this was the best both for him AND the team. The injuries just took their toll and it has really shone these last couple years. He hadn't been himself on the field and this last year especially there was a whole lot of wondering where his presence was in games. He could go almost a full game with only 1 or two catches at times and even when he caught the ball he wasn't getting any YAC's anymore.
It is just an absolute shame that such a great player never got his hand on a championship, but that's what you get when you play for the Lions...
@LostProphetFLCL: He'll go somewhere that he'll have a chance to start. No way he'll last behind that line in Detroit lol
I gotta admit, it would be pretty damn funny watching RGknee try to deal with that shit!
I would make a bet he wouldn't even last one whole game! lol.
So the Lions use 8 mil of the 11 mil saved by Johnsons retirement on a solid #2 receiver. Good move IMO. Still need to take a WR somewhere in the draft, or they could finally move Theo Riddick to a WR spot like I think they should.
Next year they get a TON of cap space opened up I do believe with Calvins contract gone. Will be interesting to see where they are at this time next year both need wise and what is available in free agency.
@LostProphetFLCL:
Is he a 1st ballot for the Hall of Fame?
I would like to think so but we shall see what happens. I see there potentially being an issue that because of his shortened career his total yards and such will not look as impressive when being compared to guys who could potentially play almost twice as long as he did.
Hopefully that is overlooked and he gets credit for how impactful of a player he was during most of his short career. He was essentially Stafford's saving grace and is probably the major reason Stafford was able to get his second contract here. IDK if Stafford would have managed to do anything without such an absolute beast of a receiver.
Oh the poor Bronco's.
They won the Super Bowl, their legendary QB retires but hey they have a young buck ready to take the throne right?
Except now Osweiller looks to be signing with the Texan's and the Bronco's are forced to dumpster dive for a QB. Supposedly they are talking to the San Francisco about Krapernick and RGknee is supposed to be visiting the Bronco's.
I am guessing they will be drafting a QB early this draft?
Also, the Lions are supposedly re-signing Ngnata for some reason? He better come cheap, because he had no presence last year and I really would have preferred they looked to the draft for defensive help...
@Chutebox: @LostProphetFLCL: The Broncos get Mark Sanchez for a conditional 2017 draft pick. Wow! That's part 2 of the Broncos QB situation. People are baffled about this.

I saw that. Too damn funny!
My guess? He is the planned back-up and they either go after Kap or they draft a QB early.
Pretty solid couple days for the Patriots. I'm going to miss Chandler Jones but the overall net from the past few days has been:
In:
Jonathan Cooper
Chris Long
Martellus Bennett
60th pick
185th pick
Out:
Chandler Jones
127th pick
At the cost of only a couple million dollars in cap space.
@LostProphetFLCL:
Unless he starts, then this was a bad move on his part.
But it's only 2 years.
At least if he is the back-up (which would make this move a lot smarter on the Borwns part if they intend for him to be the back-up, but LOL at the idea of the Browns actually being smart for a change) he won't have his knee blown out as much!
You don't pay a QB $7.5M a year and plan to only use him as a backup.
They could also maybe be planning for him to be a fill-in while they groom a new QB.
If they don't use their top pick on a QB though then the team is truely idiotic.
