he should win the mvp. the lakers would be horrible without him. and nash is not a 3 time mvp. no way is he as good as jordan, kareem, bird, magic, etc.romocop33Nothing like listening to a fan. This guy has the week of his life and all the sudden he should win the MVP which is a SEASON LONG award, not a WEEK LONG award. I will agree w/ you that the lakers wouldn't be as good w/out him, but if you look at the numbers over the last couple years the lakers have a better record when playing without kobe than the suns do playing w/out Nash. And to then sum it up by saying that he isn't as good as jordan etc. is just the dumbest thing i've ever heard. He isn't as good as jordan or magic, but the award doesn't measure that, it measures most VALUABLE to their team not the best player. The funny thing about all this is i couldn't care less who wins the award cause i'm not a fan of any of them to the extent to state bias comments, but to give the guy the award based on 4 GAMES, that's a joke

The Suns are horrible when Nash isn't playing, and they are a contender when he's playing. The Lakers are horrible when Kobe doesn't play, and they're the average playoff team when he does play. Scoring alone does not equal MVP, you just ignored everything sixringz1 said.

No he can't but at the same time kobe has never had 20+ assists in a game like nash has done a couple times this year, so your argument fails. They each have their own things, that make them great. they are 2 completely different players so you can't compare the scoring numbers of a 2 guard to the scoring number of a pure point guard. the same way it's not fair to compare the assist numbers of nash to kobe. they each bring different things to the table. Once again, i'm not campaigning for either, i'm just saying what in the world does one week of play have to do with the SEASON award of MVP

Lol stop dissing him cuz he can't catch lol, give him time[QUOTE="LiL_PiNo"][QUOTE="andyboiii"]I wonder what it would be like if Nash had Kwame "Brick Hands" Brown on his teamandyboiii
Â
do you get my point though, Kobe is playing with far less talent
Â
Â
Hell yea I get your point, most of the Lakers are unexperienced, and when you compare them to the Suns... Basically, its a Knife(LAL) vs a Gun(PHX)Kobe Bryant scored 50 today against the New Orleans Hornets. They also won. Can someone say MVP?LiL_PiNo
I can say MVP, Steve Nash or Dirk Nowitzki. How awesome! Kobe scores a lot of points!!! Yes!!! Now I can die in peace knowing that Kobe scores a lot of points!!! Old news! That's great that he has scored 50 or more four games in a row and that his team has won those games (which have been close and the other teams are junk), but that doesn't mean he's the MVP. MVP stands for Most Valuable Player, not Best Player in the NBA (which I'm not convinced Kobe is). So yeah, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!Â

It's true it's unfair to argue the stats between 1 guard and a two guard. Stats are important to picking a MVP, but not as much as how valuable is one player to a team. To me, if Kobe went down, Lakers would be in the running for Greg Oden/Kevin Durant sweepstake. But the Suns? Yes, they look different when they don't have a good PG that makes good passes, but is Nash really essential to a loaded Suns team? I doubt they would have won 50 games at this point, but Suns still would most likely finished with over 50 games with 2nd or 3rd seed in the playoffs. Â

Screw Steve Nash. No no no! Kobe does deserve it, as much as Nash does. But me being a Lakers fan... I want Kobe to win it [QUOTE="andyboiii"]I found this in an espn article, shows a lot of maturity from kobe • He said he does not think he merits MVP consideration this season, because that award should be reserved for a player on a team with one of the NBA's best records. "You have to honor that. When we get to that point, then maybe I'll get some consideration." Yea, kobe has respect. Raja Bell was dissing him, Kobe complimented his skills.
