Athletes you've met

My P.E. teacher in elementary played 5 seasons in the NFL, and had played in the superbowl with the Dolphins (29 I think), Bradie James was signing autographs, my consular in middle school played 4 seasons in the MLB including the 1997 World Series (which was a loss) and when I was a baby I was on the same flight as Deion Sanders lol. That's about it. My dad on the other hand is lucky as ****. He met Drew Brees while Drew was in college (something about golf, need to ask him about it), has played gof with 3 members of the PGA tour (Hunter Mahan, Chad Campbell, and Todd Hamiltion, all before they turned pro) and also played Hockey, baseball, and football aganist Tom Glavine when they were both kids.

I saw Marcus Trufant in a restaurant, but I didn't want to bug him so I didn't actually meet him. Same situation with Bill Russell,and other Seahawks who I recognize from time to time.

Went to elementary, junior high, and high school with Nate Washington (WR Titans)

Met Charles Woodson in his hometown of Fremont, OH while passing through

Dontrelle Willis, Jeremy Bonderman (Pitchers, Detroit Tigers)

Most famous was Walter Payton. He spoke at an event I went to when I was about 13, I got to shake his hand. This was about a year before he passed.

I met Lawrence Taylor at a country club in Newport News, VA. Super nice guy, based on that short interaction.

Julius Erving, Doc Rivers, Dwight Howard, Tracy Mcgrady, Grant Hill, Shawn Kemp, Mike Miller, Darrell Armstrong, Bo Outlaw, etc. just from going to Orlando Magic games and attending some of the old yearly offseason scimmages they used to hold at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville every year...

Tim Tebow, Joakim Noah, Al Horford, Corey Brewer and a lot of other Gator athletes because they go/went to UF...

I've been going to the Jacksonville Jaguars training camps/otas/scrimmages for the past 3 seasons. Been able to get a lot of autographs and have short conversations with the players. Notable include Maurice Jones Drew, David Garrard, Mike Sims Walker, John Henderson, Rashean Mathis, Coach Jack Del Rio, and several others. I jumped with joy like a little girl when Maurice Jones Drew signed my cap. In high school, I was friends with several of the athletes that went to Unis on scholarships. If anyone of them turn out famous yeah....

i ran into dana barros at my local mini golf place, and actually hung out with bj raji a bunch of times before he made it big. i was at the las vegas airport and seen kenyon martin, never actually met him though, he just walked right past me :P

The closest I've gotten is the Indianapolis Colts cheerleaders. lol I did get to touch their superbowl trophy, though.

Brandon Roy, Wesley Person, Ha Seung-Jin, Ruben Patterson and Raef Lafrentz have all lived in the same housing area as me.

Only really metRoy and Seung-Jin, but I knew where all the others lived.

I got to go on a trip to Florida this past March Break, and met the entire Toronto Blue Jays team (minus a couple players). So I hung out with Roy Halladay and the entire bullpen, in the dugout with the players, met Cito Gaston, Brad Arnsberg (pitching coach), got got to go around the clubhouse with Dustin McGowan, meet players I didn't expect to, and got some gear (players gear and gloves). Plus I met other Canadians Jason Bay when Toronto played Boston that day, and Joey Votto the next day when they played the Reds. It was a great experience.

Oh, also Darcy Tucker, Vesa Toskala, Jonas Gustavsson, and my cousin plays for the Flyers; Ryan Parent, all of the NHL.

I've shaken hands with the legend himself, Michael Jordan. In a bar in Palm Springs, CA back in 2005-2006, couldn't believe it was him. My friend and I both went up to him, told him he was the reason we started playing basketball, and shook hands with him. Still can't believe it was him. To be just another random night at a bar and end up meeting the player you idolized growing up was mind-blowing.

Herschel Walker came to my high school a while ago.
