I'm going with Calvin Johnson. He is an incredible physical specimen. His athleticism, in my opinion, can't be matched. Plus, he has been putting up numbers with guys like Dan Orlovsky, Drew Stanton, and an old Daunte Culpepper.

I have to go with Larry Fitzgerald. The guy is the complete package. He can make catches in any position. Fights for and get large YAC. He is clutch (64yd TD run in SB XLIII anyone?),has a good work ethic, and is a real team player.

Last season he put up 1100+ yards and 6TDs despite having 4 different, sub standard QBs throwing to him. And you only have to look back to the seasons before that where he put up multiple 1000+ yd seasons, and then shattered playoff records in the 2008 season playoff run to the Superbowl.

Andre Johnson is a close second, but i think Fitz is the best. My top 5 are:

1) Larry Fitzgerald

2) Andre Johnson

3) Calvin Johnson

4) Roddy White

5) Reggie Wayne/ DeSean Jackson (couldnt split them).

Coupled with the ability of clutch timeout calls. Truly a playmaker.

I'd say Andre Johnson since he's been soo consistent for so quite a while now. Then I'd put either Larry or CJ second.

It goes Fitz, Andre Johnson, then Calvin Johnson. If Stafford is healthy this season, I think we'll be moving Calvin to the top of the list next year. It's unfortunate that the season where there's so much promise and hype for the Lions to finally compete, there may not even be a real season. :(

I dont feel that Greg Jennings belongs in the top 5. The top 10, sure. But not the top 5.

But he's still fairly young, i wouldnt be surprised if he works his way in there in the next few years.

I disagree. Greg Jennings is a great all-around receiver. He can run the deep routes, and when he gets the ball in his hands he can shake tacklers and get a ton of good YAC. I feel like there are only four other receivers you could make the case for being better than him-the Johnsons, Wayne, and Fitz-and even then I'm not so sure he's the last of those four. I definitely think he's better than Roddy White and Brandon Marshall.

But my point was that I'm surprised to not even see his name mentioned, just like a bunch of other receivers-Wayne (until MIAMI), Miles Austin, Marques Colston, Steve Smith, DeSean Jackson, Wes Welker, and Vincent Jackson. Not that I think any of them are necessarily top three or top five material, I just expected them to be in the conversation.

With a hopefully healthy Stafford next season, CJ could have a career year for a career that has already been everything a Lions fan would want out of him. Not to mention that he caught passes from like 3 different and a couple of rather mediocre QB's last season lol.

Desean only has speed... He doesn't even go over the middle. All the recievers in the conversation for the best (johnson, fitz, megatron) are complete recievers. I'd take maclin over him.

Cris Carter's top five list didn't have Calvin Johnson on it. I can understand if I am one of the few who believes he is the best, but not having him in a top five list is a crime.

Desean Jackson. No disrespect to him, he's a great receiver. But Calvin Johnson has a way more complete game than Jackson.

True, but Desean makes up for that by being by far the most explosive WR in the NFL.

When he starts running routes across the middle and his hands become reliable MAYBE we can put him somewhere around megatron on this list.

Height has nothing to do with being an elite receiver? Both Calvin and Andre Johnson can jump over defenders and catch a ball because they are really tall. That enables them to make a catch on a bad throw. If they do not have that dimension to their game I don't consider them an elite receiver. Sure you can still be a great receiver but I don't see how you could possibly be better than those who can go up and make catches over defenders. Being tall always helps.

Being short doesn't hurt. Going up to get the ball requires a good vertical jump and great timing. Being 6'5 isn't required for going up to get the ball, look at Steve Smith (Panther, not the giant) a few years ago. Now I wouldn't take DeSean over Larry and company, but adds something to his team that the others just can't which makes him special.

I guess that all depends on the system being ran. These things really aren't important at all in philly as they run a very vertical offense. Regardless it's hard to argue with 22 ypc as a number 1 receiver. I could very easily see him in the top 5 in the NFL, I would just also include Calvin.

You're right, height isn't required to make acrobatic catches (see: Steve Largent). However, being tall gives WRs a different advantage. It allows them to bully smaller DBs, be more physical. You aren't going to see Desean Jackson or Steve Largent bullying a DB.

Hahaha, I have seen this so many times. One of the greatest revenge shots ever. Earlier that year, Mike Harden laid down a cheap shot on Largent. And in this game, at the Kingdome, Steve got his revenge. I love this clip.

My top 5 1. DeSean Jackson (biased... he's actually my number 5) 2. Larry (He has that Randy Moss quality to him. "Throw the ball somewhat in my direction and I'll get it by jumping over a few DBs) 3. Andre (honestly... I don't see it, but everyone else can't be wrong) 4. Calvin Johnson (better then Andre IMO) 5. whoever you want.

Most dysfunctional top 5 EVER.

I think TO and Chad 85 have to be in it to be the most dysfunctional.
