All I know is one thing: You offer me anybody, not just Brees but ANYBODY, in the league for a straight up trade for Ben and I will turn you down. Same goes for Harrison, Hines, and Polamalu. What is every QB's goal? To win the Lombardi trophy. (or it should be) One of these guys has proved he can do it. I'll take him.blackngold29
Wow, you would really rather have Hines instead of Moss? There AT LEAST 5 other WRs I would pick over Ward. Ben instead of P. Manning or Brady?? Troy is one of the top safeties in the league so I can understand that, but I would rather have Ed Reed. I would also rather have DeMarcus Ware instead of Harrison.

I hope you're not serious. I guess Trent Dilfer is better than Dan Fouts right?

Hell no. Give Brees that defense to fall back on.

Hahaha, please look at who made the topic. This is the same guy who ACTUALLY believes that Chris Webber is better then Tim Duncan.

I never said "All Super Bowl winning QBs are better than all non-Super Bowl winning QBs" I just said generally I'd rather have them on my team.

Then why would you rather have them?

give peyton or brady the horrible o line ben has and see how they do, trying to escape defenders on just about every play.

Uh, they have a good line. Ben just holds on to the ball too damn long.

He's not following his own logic in that situation then.

Roethlisberger is a game manager, which is good for what the Steelers need. Put him in a system where he needs to produce though, and I don't think he'd be ranked in the top 20 QB's in the league. Not a knock on him, just that he's in the right system for him and both he and the Steelers are smart for sticking with what's working for them.

Now to address the main question, there isn't a chance in the world he's a better pure QB than Brees. He's simply been in a far superior situation from the second he was drafted.

Because they've proven that they can win the big game. It's like how T.O. is one of the best recievers in the game, but I would never want him on my team becuase he's T.O. It's not because he isn't good, it's that he kills teams.

He has to escape defenders because he holds on to the ball too long. I'm not going to say he's a game manager. Game managers don't put up the numbers he did in 2007. There are at least 3 QBs that are better than him in the league though.

Both are GREAT qb's, but im happy with big ben as the QB of my team and I would never chose Brees over him, he puts very gaudy stats but Big Ben just has that special something that separates him from any qb not named brady that makes him clutch in the big games...

Arians, Steelers' offensive coordinator, came out in the off-season and said that after watching every play from last season he blamed the majority of sacks on the blocking of the RBs, not the O-line. It's kind of difficult to say that Ben holds it too long, judging by what he's accomplished, but I think it was Jaws that said he has to learn to get it out quicker in the future or he will get himself hurt. I would agree with that, if he could throw like Brady out of the pocket, but keep the ability to scramble if need be, he will... well I don't know, but I wouldn't want to face him.

ben's holding the ball isnt always a bad thing. he extends the play. yes, he takes a lot of sacks because of it. but he also makes some huge plays because of it too. some of his best plays have been when he's scrambling. yet take brady and look how he does when he's outside the pocket. if we are just looking at pocket passing then yeah brady/manning/brees are better. but take the position as a whole and i will definitely take ben.

We just need to start running the ball again. Too much pressure on Ben because all we do is pass. D's just bring the pass rush every play.

Agreed, apparently Parker has a turf toe now and they don't seem to give Mendenhall more than two runs a game for whatever reason. Looks like it may be up to Moore the unsung hero again.
