Only exciting thing was Machida getting a KO. GSP dominated, which was another hyped up match up...typical UFC tho. Also I had Diaz winning that fight too. Espurs117

i hope you're not saying that in a bad way. it was the main event, you're suppose to hype the main event, its what sells tickets

Good card. If Machida isn't the next for a title shot I honestly don't know what to say. Hell, he should have had the title shot before the last advertisment...er, I mean Forest/Rashad match.

PS: Dana sucks.

Chutebox

appearantly, If Rampage wins, he fights Evans first (with machida facing winner). If jardine wins, Machida fights Evans first. but Dana has said that Machida will get a title fight before the end of the year.

PS: Dana doesn't suck

I think Rashad poses a bigger challenge for Machida than a lot of ppl think. Rashad is also a counter puncher and he's alwasy very careful, waits for his shots, and waits for openings. He's also really fast with great footwork and handspeed. It's an interesting fight. Honestly, I'd even go as far as saying that I think Machida would fare better against Rampage than he would against Rashad.

Totally - Machida's got a speed advantage on Rampage.

Machida deserves a title shot more than rampage, but having to watch Machida and Evans dance around each other for 5 rounds ... yeah, I can see why Dana's holdin' off on that one.

Really glad to see Machida with that KO. It was a sick sweep that led to it as well. Can't wait for his Title Fight. He deserves it.

Yeah, i think he really wants Rampage to get the title before Machida gets a shot....that way it'll be another fight of someone trying to chase Lyoto. I think the very fact that Rashad WON'T chase him is what makes him so problematic. While he's a bit more aggressive, I'd also like Machida/Liddell at some point before Liddell retires. Liddell's more aggressive, but he's also a known counter-puncher that knows when to swarm (see his fight with Wandy). That'd be a good one, i think.

so apparently there's a lot of controversy right now. One of GSP's cornermen was rubbing GSP with vaseline on his hands. Penn's camp has made a formal complaint to the Athletic Commission. It wouldn't've made a difference in the fight, but this is still just stupid all around.

I knew GSP was going to win. BJ Penn talked too much trash and didnt seem like he trained as hard as GSP.

At that point, Penn's camp were just grasping for straws. Heck why didnt they file a compliant about the smooch Mickey Avalon gave to Penn before the fight?

lol Penn probably thought it was a girl at the time. Must suck watching that on replay. I agree that it had little to no impact on the fight...but apparently Serra, though having never filed a complaint, was grumbling about greasiness post-fight. Now Matt Hughes has come out of nowhere making allegations that GSP was greasy in their last fight, and now Penn's even having sudden bursts of memory of how GSP was a bit greasy in their first fight as well.

It's getting ridiculous. It's like every sore loser across GSP's career is coming back to use this as their retroactive excuse. Even Sean Sherk and Jason freaking Miller have started complaining about greasiness. It's getting ridiculous. Considering that Serra, sherk, Penn, and Hughes have all come across as being dicks at various points of their careers, i'm not inclined to believe much of this.

At this rate, I'm surprised that Koscheck and Trigg haven't suddenly remembered greasiness as well.

I almost hate to see this fight go down. I have mad respect for both fighters as they are both class acts and great for the sport. It's unfortunate one will have to lose.wornstar
Yeah that is true. I'm equally a fan of both. I think I'm going to feel the same way if Evans Vs. Machida happens (thanks to Dana White, it won't happen anytime soon though) but then again I know I'll be rooting for Evans. hehe
GSP the is undisputed Welter Weight Champ! Penn was not ready for him at ALL, I'm surprise how much GSP dominated on the ground.jus2nyce
Me too. GSP loves to bully people on the ground. I loved how he ended the Serra rematch with those knees. It was like he was kicking a guy's ass in an alley or something. hehe

fair enough :P he's just so easy to hate and you know it! That said, Trigg is exonerated. He just made a video blog talking of how unfortunate this situation is. No accusations at all from his side.

Oh come on! Josh Koscheck is a very likable gentleman. He put a man in a neckbrace! A NECKBRACE! Not to mention that he pushed his face in after did the 2-punch overkill KO.
