Bob Gainey is an idiot for signing Schneider on Montreal Canadiens.

Bob Gainey is a fool for signing a 39 year old player like Schneider.Yes I know he is a veteran, but why did Gainey sign someone with scoring talent. This is not the 90's where Schneider was a decent player and Montreal was a contender for the Stanley Cup.Getting that wienner dog player is not going to improve the Habs at all.

I don't know man, right now the HABS are in free fall and anything, any bet could maybe help. The players are just freakin' asleep on ice, I can't believe how they've managed to suck that much in a short period of time.

For the freefall: they lost Lang and Tanguay which are the two best players on the team. Kovalev is talented, yet lazy. The rest of the players arent that great and never have been they became overhyped after having a good season last year. Plus Price is playing horribly.

About Schneider I agree. they had to rade two recruits for a 39 year old that will last one season. He may bring a bit of experience this year, but thats not enough to win the cup. Plus with the new nhl hes too old and slow for this.

Im a big habs fan and i had nigh hopes for the next few seasons, but now i think we might be in roughly the same position as the leafs aka the worst team in NHL history and one that will suck for many years to come.

the habs are where my sens were last year. but atleast you didn't trade away a great d-man for your player, but i don't really know how schneider will change things.

that being said, you guys are now heading into a red hot Capitals team and a desparate Penguins team in back to back games, with kovalov at home, team chemistry low, price underpreforming, and a GM ready to pull the trigger to change the team. if the team can't dig deep to get back to their winning ways, they could easily drop out of a playoff spot by the end of this week.

still plenty of games to make up for lost chances, but it IS time to start playing like the season depends on it. i don't think you will be able to fall into a playoff spot like we did last year, and even if you did you would have to face one of the divisional leaders, none of which look beatable.

There are more and more rumours saying that gainey wants to get rid of kovalev but im not sure what hes worth on the market considering the reputation he has now. And im not ready to say wed lose against the caps or the penguins. The habs got beat by EVERYONE in the west lol, but still surprises may happen...

I hope they dont get into the same spot as the sens, because they are still in ALOT of trouble.

Plus , the habs are canada's last chance of having a team in the series in the east. How long since that has happened?

I guess for help in the playoffs. Atlanta had no use for him since their season is in the toilet.

I'm glad. Thank you Montreal for picking him up, Detroit was trying to get him. Anything that stops Detroit from getting better is a plus in my book.

I didn't even know that. I think we're fine though. Let's see. Lidstrom, Rafalski, Kronwall, Lilia, Lebda, Chelios. Meech plays defense sometimes. I think I'm missing someone too. Either way we're getting better as the season goes it's just a matter of figuring out who will start in the playoffs.

I like the guy so I'm not knocking him, but he had a PP goal and a -4 last night. Not what I'd call a solid game.
