Not even an eagles fan, but I can respect the man.
Was a great overall player, true class act. Prob the best RB teams ever had.

Really its the multiple concussions that did him in... I can definately see him in a role sharing carries playing the "mentor" for some of the younger runningbacks in the league (maybe KC, Houston). I also think the Pats would be a great team for him to hop on to you know Bellicheck loves the veteran players.
As far as the illogical comments ofWestbrook having a wasted career under Reid... just incase youve been living under a rock for the past 10 years go ahead and look at the stats.
I'm just glad he finally won that Championship with the EaglesLoseEagles1245And I'm ecstatic that the Cowboys won the Super Bowl this year.

Why? LT isn't any improvement over Westbrook, if anything it's a step backwards. If they wanted an aging ex superstar who doesn't seem to be producing and is gradually being replaced by the younger better players they would have stuck with Westbrook. Plus Westbrook is more versatile, he has better hands then LT.I think there's a high chance of the Eagles picking up LT in the near future.

Yeah, definately dont see the Eagles dropping Westbrook to pick up LT... Move doesn't make too much sense. I definately think they will look to add more depth behind LeSean McCoy.
I always thought he was overrated, so I think this is a great move. Free up money that was being wasted on someone who spent the majority of the time on the bench.
Ya he was too injury prone, but when he played he was legitI always thought he was overrated, so I think this is a great move. Free up money that was being wasted on someone who spent the majority of the time on the bench.

If anything, he was eternally underrated. He was the Eagles for a few years. Never had the rushing numbers because the Eagles don't run the ball.I always thought he was overrated, so I think this is a great move. Wow, LT AND Westbrook in free agency? I smell one of them going to the Patriots, as they always seem to pick up the veteran backs. I would say Westbrook would stay in free agency though. He's coming off a couple of concussions and an injury. Not looking good for him. Both are great RBs though. I don't see them having a big impact on any team though, they are getting close to the age where RBs are cut loose.
Westbrooks problem is that he gets hurt all the time. If he was more reliable they would have kept him.

I think it has more to do with the money owed to Westbrook this season. I think he was due about $7 million this season. LT will most likely come cheaper, and with less concussions than Westbrook. Besides, when's the last time started the whole season? As for McCoy, I'm not too sure he's ready to shine yet. I think another season watching LT play would be most beneficial to him.

LT is pretty full of himself, with the uncapped year coming (possibly) he'll probably want to get paid a pretty good amount. Not to mention LT doesn't exactly play full seasons either.[QUOTE="monkeytoes61"]
I always thought he was overrated, /p>
lmao
Anytime I watched him, he was always getting stuffed. He would break maybe two or three solid runs a game, and the rest were one yard gainers.[QUOTE="monkeytoes61"]

No offense, but anyone that has over 2,100 yards per scrimmage and is the most versatile running back in the league for about 6 years isn't overrated. Go ask NFL defensive cooridinators if they think Brian Westbrook is over rated. The bottom line is, when Andy Reid gave him the damn ball, he was a damn good runner. And he was always a difference maker as a receiver. For a few years Westbrook WAS the Eagles offense.Good for him, now he can be used somewhere else. What a wasted career he had with Reid.

Yeah, since he was in street clothes a good portion of the time...

Sounds a lot like what Adrian Peterson and Barry Sanders -- the home run hitting backs -- do on any given day. Not putting his running skills there with Sanders and Peterson, but with his ability to also BE a wide receiver, you have to respect the man. Like I've said before, he was the Eagles.[QUOTE="Put_in_Kitna"]

Yet he didn't get to run the ball when he was on the field..weird. :|
Im not really much of an eagles fan but this is a really hard blow towards them, losing arguably one of the best running backs in todays game :(

Probably because when he ran the ball he got injured... Don't get me wrong, I think Westbrook is awesome. When he actually played he put up great numbers, but he is as close to Mr Glass as any NFL player out there. Andy Reid didn't cause the injuries and he got Westbrook the ball in one form or another plenty of times.
