Brees has 9 td passes so far.

I know its early, but does anyone else think Brees is going to chase this record this year. I think he'll break 40 and certainly is going to be talked about to break the record.

I agree. He had a huge year last year and it looks like he will surpass that this year with how he is playing. Only time will tell!

thanks for the answers guys. I really do think brees is gonna get 40 - 45 tds probably. I wouldn't be surprised to see him make a run at the record.

he has 9. if he can average 3 tds a game for he last 14 games he'd have 42 tds + the 9 already = 51

its possible, but unlikey.. I certainly wonder how much longer he'll keep up this awsome pass attack.

I'm watching the total yards record. He is already over 600 yards.

Barring an injury, its very possible. We'll see where he's at after Week 8

He tore the Eagles D apart I was embarrassed just watching. He's unstoppable, he'll find any holes in any defense and capitalize and he is a true leader to boot. Scary.

No question he's capable but a lot of such records are just about the opportunity.

If he can stay healthy perhaps. But it is more about the opponents he will face and defenses and after he threw 3 TD's against a good PHI defense made me realize that the 50 TD mark Brady had could be in Jeopardy lol

After watching him tear apart that Eagles D I could see him go as high as 55 or so. With that crazy pass happy offense and the weapons he has, I would not be surprised to see him break both the TD pass record and pass yards record in this one season. This guy is the best QB in the NFL right now.

A GOOD Philly defense? Are you serious? Did you watch that game? Do you know anything about the Eagles?

Notice now how LAST YEAR matters when it suits your side of the argument.

Liberal alpha male envy.

The Eagles D has holes all over it. If you want to insist it doesn't, get back to me next week when they let up another 400 yds and 3-4 TD's.

Against the Saints everyone is allowed a bad game here or two, "Every dog has its day". Maybe it was a bad game for the Eagles because Brees is just that good.

So then explain to me Week 1 against the Panthers? I could have sworn that Eagles defense dominated. Enlighten me, Mr. I Know All About Sports. :P

[QUOTE="Mister__Awesome"][ Hey buddy, did you watch the game prior? Eagles vs Panthers? I could have sworn that they made Delhomme get benched and forced 4 turnovers. But hey you probably didn't see that game. Yes, a good Philly defense by the way, yes i am serious, yes i saw the game, yes i know all about the Eagles idiot. Shows how good Brees is that he can score all those points against him. So buddy before you criticize others make sure you know what your saying and don't question others when they speak the truth.

I've been reading the forums for a while now and I never post but being a huge fan of the NFL, this baffles me. I understand LM is being obnoxious but you're just as wrong. Philly's defense is questionable. You make it sound as if beating Delhomme is a big deal. How good of a QB do you really think he is? And he's right about Asante. He had every opportunity to at the very least, disrupt that TD and he was about three feet away from the play. The Eagles D is not as strong as past years. You should stop accusing others of not knowing anything when you're knowledge is just as fragile.

Pat Kirwan made an interesting point on nfl chat. Brees has the benefit of playing in the dome. In december qbs usually throw less with the bad weather. Brees has the benefit of playing many winter games in a dome sheltered from the elements.

Also after seeing Romo destroy the bucs pass defense, i'm dreading the fact Bress gets two games against that team.....bucs are my team lol.

The fact that Brady got 50 TD is more impressive to me than Peyton's 49 by a ton. Manning played in a dome oppose to Brady who played mostly outdoors in New England and only went to play in warm temperature when they had to go to Miami, due to the fact that year the AFC East faced the NFC East.

Less? Our offense goes deep at every skill position, including running back. All Brady had that year was Maroney, Faulk, and I think Corey Dillon was still on that squad. We've got 3 good running backs as well and go 5 deep at WR. And now that we got David Thomas, we've got 2 good options at TE. And we also got Heath Evans from the Patriots. They're about what n what imo.

I'm a diehard Pats fan so I should be arguing the opposite, but I would agree that Brees does have less talent around him. The thing with Brady was that he proved himself without receivers, but in 2007 he had Randy Moss, Daunte Stallworth, Wes Welker, Jabar Gaffney, Ben Watson and David Thomas at TE, and Maroney and Faulk (Evans at FB, Dillon was already gone). None of the Saints receivers are really that accomplished, although they are way more talented at RB than the 2007 Patriots were. I highly doubt Brees will do it, but if he does that would definitely be something.

You look at Drew B. and he might be the best FA signing(in terms of value for the dollar) in the history of the NFL, definitely top 5.
