And another NFL player thinks he'd beat him in a 100m race.

I think some people don't understand how fast Usain Bolt really is. There's a very good read in the last ESPN mag about Usain Bolt and the fact that, at his size, he's not supposed to come out of the gates that fast, that it'd be impressive if he was 7th after 10m, yet he's second after 10m, first after 20m up to 200m and probably beyond. His start is as fast a men 5 inches smaller, which is somewhat superhuman. There's another expert who once said Bolt would probably beat 4.00 in the 40 yard dash. Easily, more like 3.80. I won't go as low as 3.80, but 4.00, definitely.

I think Chris Johnson, as fast as he is, is completely nuts if he really thinks that. I doubt he could break 10.5 seconds, let alone 10 seconds.

What say you?

I don't think that would be a factor. I'm pretty sure Bolt would crush Johnson even if he's wearing pads and Johnson isn't. Dude is fast. And I mean, fast. Johnson would have a hard time qualifying for the olympics.

Chris Johnson is an idiot, Usain Bolt isn't the fastest man in the world for no reason.... He'd smoke Chris.

I don't think it's possible for a human to run faster than like 4.1 or 4.2 in the 40. If you watch his races closely, he doesn't truly start to pull away until 15-20 meters in.

That's because they hit their top speed later in the race rather than sooner. It's a different training method and race from 100m, to 40 yds. There have been many people who have "calculated" Bolt's 40 time, I've read from sub 4.0 to 4.22. It's hard to calculate, because you don't start off in blocks in the 40 like you do in the 100m.

That's what I'm saying. He'd burn any of these NFL guys in the long sprint, but he really wouldn't be any faster in the 40.

I would pay to see pre-nfl ted ginn jr vs Bolt....that would be awesome to watch.

Teddy had a top gear like no other in college. I'm sure bolt would win, but i'd bet it be interesting.

I don't know what's more crazy, Chris Johnson saying he can beat Bolt or the two votes saying that he can win.

Only some players though, and annoyingly, those are the ones that stand out.

Oh, and Bolt would crush him.

You see this Benjamin I got in my hand? I'm slapping it down on the table. You know who I got? Not Chris Johnson. Chris Johnson might be one of the fastest guys in the NFL, but Usain Bolt is the fastest man on the PLANET.

So Rondo thinks he can beat Johnson in a race. Johnson says he can beat Bolt...Hypothetically that makes Rondo the fastest man in the world

Ben Johnson, Donovan Bailey, Maurice Green and Dwayne Chambers would all beat Chris Johnson. He would seriously put his name in with Usain. What a dummy.

Maybe just a publicity thing...I'm sure it would be close for a 50, but Usain has a great start too.

I don't know if he said it or not but that link doesn't say anything about Usain Bolt. It says Tedd Ginn Jr which is a race I would actually like to see. Actually reading the comments they said it was taken out. People who read this was it serious or was he joking/smoking (lol). There's no way he would come close to beating this man.
