[QUOTE="xscrapzx"][QUOTE="Renegade_Fury"] Dude, those games were designed to make Dallas, NY, and GB look good. Don't pretend that wasn't the intention when it's so blatantly obvious. Denver had been falling apart since midseason last year, and NY once again was supposed to be a SB contender.
What do you mean it was meant for them to look good? Are you serious? Here come the conspiracies. So they have been trying to make Dallas look good for 30 years? The Denver and Giants match up ended up being a decent one considering what was a stake for both teams even though it ended up one sided. Greenbay was terrible last year and so wasn't Detroit. So I have no idea where you are getting this looking good idea from. All the teams that played in Thanksgiving this year were pretty bad teams last year and even though the Giants ended up 12-4 they were falling apart ever since Buress left, so I think your argument is moot. Are you joking? GB was one of the most hyped up teams going into this year. Everyone had Rogers leading them to the playoffs. Detroit on the other hand was coming off a 0-16 season; there was no way in hell they were going to get better. Then there's setting up Dallas against Oakland of all teams. Tell me who is going to win that one? Yeah, I thought so. The Giants have been a SB contender for the last 3 years now. You even said they went 12-4 last year. So what if they lost Buress, they were still viewed as a premier team, and were very much favored to go far in the playoffs once again. Denver on the other hand was going on a downward spiral and it was assumed Shanahan was going to get fired by the end of last year. You can throw the conspiracy card as much as you want in my face, but all of these looked like one sided matchups no matter how you slice it.
Withh all that you have just said, the SCHEDULE was out before any of those things you just mentioned. Before Shanahan got fire, before Greenbay had a great preseason. What do you think would help the NFL in money and in ratings? A bad a matchup or a good one? In the past couple of years yes Thanksgiving games have been lopsided but before that they have been pretty competative and not always did Dallas win and Lions lose. If you noticed they have tried to make Thanksgiving games a little bit more attractive by adding in a Thursday night game. I doubt highly that they just make these matches up so that Dallas or Greenbay could look good, when really all the NFL cares about at the end of the day is ratings and if the public sees a game that is going to be a joke of a matchup no one is going to watch it or be interested in it unless you are a fan of the team.
