EA has done jack squat with the license. So they have the ESPN ticker and ESPN radio in games now, whoop-de-flipping-do. Let's see some ESPN intergration into the actual game.
Yes they sure do. That was one of the things they gobbled up right away after they bought the NFL rights. The bad thing is that I think they have the ESPN rights for something like 10 years, not the five that the NFL license is for.
I mean they could atleast have an ESPN overlay. I mean I know they got the ESPN license just to crush 2k sports, but they could atleast TRY to look like that isn't what they did. I mean would it kill them to change the stupid generic score trackers to the ESPN one? Or instead of "brought to you by EA Sports" make it " Brought to you by ESPN, the world wide..." I mean c'mon na. I love Madden, but it's just ridiculous now...
Just because ea has to take every single liscence out there they took it and just like Ranger said they've done nothing with it I mean instead of maybe using the monday night football theme on madden they still use that crappy ea radio thing I wish 2k would had that liscence at least they actually used it once.I'm hoping they use the espn thing for nascar.
I don't understand why EA didn't just put the ESPN presentation right back into the games, I also don't understand why the in game footage doesn't look exactly like an ESPN broadcast, why the on screen scoreboard isn't ESPN's, it's dumb not to use every little bit of ESPN styling for all sports titles.
What is the point of having the ESPN license if they aren't going to use it? It's like they just used it to make sure no one else would. Remember ESPN Football? (NFL 2K4) or NFL 2K5? Even 2K4 had SOME ESPN integration in it and that game was made in 2003! 2K5 was awesome because it had Chris Berman doing a full half-time show, replays, and stats. It's been three years since the release of 2K5 and you would think EA could at least COPY some of the ideas to make the Madden Series the Best football game out there. Especially since its the ONLY one out there.
