EA press conference:Madden online franchise mode revealed.

So in todays E3 conference they announced they are finally adding online franchise so 32 people online can organize real leagues, something they have been lacking especially since 2k managed to do it years ago.

Any thoughts,anyone else excited? PersonallyI never understood online addicts who wasted life away playing MMO's but now I see a situation where I could end up wasting that much time. Anyone else?

I picture 99% of the leagues will have all but 1 or 2 of the 32 players eventually losing interest after a few weeks and never finishing out their season.

Its the kind of things that just works or completely fails. If you get only good and active players in your franchise, it can be a tremendous success. ESPN NFL 2k5 survived this long because of its amazingly great online community.

That's a pretty cool idea. There should be some limit set so that if you join a league and don't play your games by a certain day then you are penalized somehow. Not just by forefiting the game, but take away gamerpoints or something. Imagine this in other sports too. It would take forever with something like baseball, but people love fantasy sports. Imagine a fantasy draft, division standings, trading blocks, perhaps being able to watch the other playoff games once you get knocked out.blackngold29

This was a very disappointing announcement for me. NHL series has had this feature for the last couple of years now and it would have been a better add for Madden if they gave it Online Team Play like NHL and NBA live. Some crazy 10 vs 10 would be beautiful.UpstateMosquito

Well, if EA gave each league winner a prize of some sort then maybe more people would be enticed to finish their league out to the end. I would like to do a league but I don't think I could handle getting stuck with the Lions for a whole season. What would I be playing for? Maybe to improve my win total by 300% from last year?Lostboy1224

If it's on the 360 I would be down for sure. I can't wait to play this years Madden!
