The Jay's pitching is looking good, cue DL trip #11 for AJ Burnett.PBSnipes
Just swept the Bosox. Pitching hasn't given up more than 4 runs yet, I'd say 3 because the collision by Macdonald and Wells today should've been an error.

Make a nice separate topic just like that one Red Sox fan does. :P
The Cardinals are really surprising me...what the heck happened to the Red Sox? Swept by the Jays? Last place in their divison? How does that happen?Fireball2500When you consider how screwed up they are from all that travelling its not suprising. For example Lugo isn't exactly the greatest SS to play the game, but he's better than the 3 errors he had Sunday.
I don't follow baseball much at all, but being from Detroit, and hearing all these big names they've have brought on the team this year, I can't help but ask the question how are they 0-5? Ha I know there is a billion games in baseball but come on, it was bad enough losing opening day but five games in and they have yet to win? For people that do follow baseball what do you think of Detroits team this year and do you think they will get it together since they have pretty much all season to get use to the changes made to the team.
For me it doesn't really matter but it would be great if they win it this year, along with Detroit's other team except cuddly lions.

They're off to a bad start this year but I think they'll turn it around. I simmed the first season of MLB 08 and it had Detroit winning it all. I think they'll possibly get the Wildcard but it's a tuff call between them and yanks. prob should call yanks in that but I really think tigers are gonna at least semi live up to the hype.
Pirates played their third extra inning game of the season today. They were down 7-0, and lost 10-8. But, its gotta be some kind of rare thing: Both season opener and home opener go to 12 innings, bet that doesn't happen too often.
[QUOTE="Second_Rook"][QUOTE="blackngold29"]Tonight's the last opening game in Yankee stadium. What do you guys think, tearing it down is good or bad?
xbox360isgr8t
It's very very bad, Yankee Stadium is baseball's Vatican.
i disagree i would take wrigley or fenway any day.
yanks could get a new stadium many wouldnt care. it doesnt mean as much whether you think it does or not.
but when you think cubs or red sox you think wrigley or fenway. no way these teams could build or play in new parks. unless those new parks were replicas of the old park.
the new stadium is pretty much a replica, go look at it on yankees.com
Just to get it on record...
AL: Angels, Tigers, Red Sox with Cleveland as the WC.
NL: Dodgers, Cubs, Mets with San Diego as the WC.
WS: Dodgers over Tigers in 6.
Awards: MVP-Sizemore/Howard
CY Young: Santana/Bedard
MOY: Maddon/Torre
Reliever: Papelbon/Saito
ROY: Longoria/Cueto
wild one in pitt. like lou said better to win ugly then lose pretty even though i dont know how u lose pretty. you can blame both bullpens for how the game went or the defense. but imo i blame lilly for almost costing us the game. yah the defense committed an error. but that 4th inning 5 runs should have not happened. your up 7-0 he has to pitch better then he did in that inning period.xbox360isgr8tI blame the Pirate's loss on Batista's stupid bunt. Word from the Pirates is no signal was given, he just tried to bunt for a base hit with one out and the winning run on third base. Although the coach does give Bautista a green-light to bunt any time he wants, but he should understand you don't do it in a situation like that. He may have surprised the Cubs, but he also surprised the guy on third, and it cost them the game.

I don't think any team that's started 0-7 has made it to the WS...
Brewers win in extra innings to go 6-1, Gagne blows his second out of three. Cuento (Reds P) looks great.
There's been some talk about the Tigers not needing to worry yet, what about now? Keep in mind they traded a good part of their future to have the lineup that has lost seven straight to open the season.
I'm a die hard Cubs fan...and please spare me the jokes I've heard them all.
We look decent so far...just waiting for Alfonso to come around and when he does...watch out!!!
FUKUDOME for PREZ!!!!!!

The season's still young. They're workin out the kinks(some serious kinks mind you) but there's still a whole lot of baseball left to play. I believe in the power of mlb 08 and it says detroit will make the preseason.8)
i cant believe gagne, NO LEAD IS SAFE with this man, you can be up 6 runs and he'll give up like 4, he literally did this every game he pitched in for the sox last yearBeanTownBrown86
Yeah he's worth the $10 million brewers are paying him. As a Cardinal fan I'm in love with our bullpen now (best bullpen in the league so far this season) At the end of the season Izzy is going to have over 300 saves :D

Yeah the guy just sickens me, and we had Cordero who saved over 90% last year, they didn't want to pay him 11.5 for four years so they decided to pay Gagne 10 for one, I suppose the idea is that they want to have the budget room to lock down Braun and Fielder, but my god they could have gotten a better closer than Gagne half the price.
Cubs and Pirates must like playing each other, 13 innings first game; 15 the second. Wonder what they'll do tonight?

I say low 20's. lol They definately have each others number. the game will be fun to watch.
Brewers lost the series to the Reds, finished off by none other than Cordero, Reds with pitching could be a real hassle.
