I was expecting CC to give up somehwere between 3-5 runs, but at the same time I was hoping the offence would be able to get to Beckett as well. I had more faith in Carmona than CC after the Yankee series (and even more after this game), but going up against Schilling won't be easy either.
[QUOTE="dkhw"]I think this game will be 3-2 Indians, but let's see what happens.Just_Osmo
5-2 Boston
I don't know. Carmona has been pitching so well past several games that I don't see the Red Sox scoring more than two runs. It would be nice if the Sox won, but....

People have said the same about CC, calling games for the other team. The Sox have pulled through big time and are dominating with great starting pitching and great offence.

So much for pitching Schilling in game 2, now they have a pitcher who pitches better at home than on the road pitching a series defining game.
[QUOTE="Bobbles"]Yeah, how about them Sox? 7 runs allowed in the top of the 11th rofl!Raider47
LMFAO
HELL YEAH
GO INDIANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, that was fun.

It was a good game, we were down to the last 2 pitchers in the pen. Both Pens pitched aces till the end when we put in the 2 people who sucked lol.
Good win for the Indians. Game 3 should be good, but I'm more excited for Game 4.
PS: No reason to gloat winning in the 11th when you all hyped Carmona as schooling on the Sox. The game was a coin flip that late in the game.
I still dislike Drew from before he even played in the majors. With that hold out for tons of money when drafted by the Phillies. For the money he was demanding, you think he was an all star or great player, which he is an ok player that has been fragile in his career.mrgab
Can't blame the man for wanting alot of money. If i was a ball player i'd be wanting more money then i was worth.

But he wanted it before he even played 1 single game. Ended up holding out and being put back in next years draft. If I was a ball player I would want to earn the big money, not demand it.
[QUOTE="rentfn"]Did anyone think the Ump behind the plate for game three had some money on the game? His strike zone was about inconsistent as the Red Sox. The Sox need to spice it up. Sit Drew cause he is a waste of 70 million.Just_Osmo
I''m sick of people saying Drew is a waste of money. He is producing pretty much exactly what the red sox predicted him to produce for them. He was never meant to be some 30 HR 130 RBI machine. He was bought to produce with a .283 AVG with 85ish RBI's (straight from the Sox orginization). He hit a .270 with 65 RBI's. Thats pretty close to what they are payign him for, especially with this being the first year coming from the National league.
All you people calling him a waste of money really don't watch much baseball and don't follow the red sox orginization. So shut up you fair weather fans.
Your all probably the same peopel who were calling for Pedroia to be benched and have Cora take his spot at the begining of the season.
Fair Weather Fan's really piss me off.
I think the Red Sox expected the Drew of the .300 20+HR and 100+RBI when they gave him 14 million a year. 14 million is not just chump change that you could give to a player to come play average on a title contending team.

Globe 10.0 acually had the numbers from the organization. It was right around .283 and 85 rbi's. Your just sayign what you think, what I said was acual facts from the Organization given to Globe 10.0 on NESN when they were discussing J.D Drew. The whole segment was about how he is performing basically at the level he was expected and paid to perform at.

Everytime I see this guy with someone on base. He doesn't swing until he has two strikes and strikes on a breaking ball. EVERY SINGLE time. It's almost ridiculous. This guy was touted by everyone as having one of the best swings and one of the best talents, and that's why he got the big contract, but he failed to improve himself and actually went onto downgrade from last season.

Give him next season before you start bashing him. It isn't easy to change teams and leagues. He will improve next season. Mark my words.
[QUOTE="Robbie_IV"]Eric Gagne is not a good pitcher.rocket9434
I can't agree more. He is overrated.
83 Consecutive saves is not overrated.
2003 1.97 era 82.1 IP 52 Saves out of 56
2004 1.20 era 82.1 IP 55 Saves out of 55
2005 2.19 era 82.1 IP 45 Saves out of 47
He had a bad injury but returned strong this year before comign to the Sox.
So how is that overrated?
Do you even know stats before you post?

Lol, doesn't mean he's not overrated dude. He could be past all that, and could be playing like crap. Trevor Hoffman was "the best closer" in baseball and he got rocked twice when he could have put the Padres in the playoffs, once against the Brewers with a run lead, then again a few days later against the Rockies where he had a 2 run lead. Past years statistics don't mean anything now if you can't get the job done.[QUOTE="Just_Osmo"][QUOTE="rocket9434"][QUOTE="Robbie_IV"]Eric Gagne is not a good pitcher.Bobbles

I guess, I say someone is overrated when people think that person is good because of his past. Steve McNair i think is overrated, but he had success in the past big deal. For all we know, Gagne could bounce back next year so it doesn't mean hes a has been yet.[QUOTE="dkhw"][QUOTE="Just_Osmo"][QUOTE="dkhw"][QUOTE="Just_Osmo"][QUOTE="rentfn"]Did anyone think the Ump behind the plate for game three had some money on the game? I agree it's hard. But we don't need one of our most talented hitters to be playing A-rod (playoffs versio) right now.
Did i say it or did i say it? Boston's starting pitching is weak once you get past Beckett. 5 ERs for Wakefield tonight.. pathetic. This series is over, thank god because now we can stop talking about the Boston fans getting a championship in 3 different sports.
Oh and don't start hoping for a comeback like the '04 season because it's not happening, this pitching staff is not as good as the 04 pitching staff. That, and you no longer have Damon, who is a clutch player.
Teams like the Red Sox and Yankees can never call them dead till afterwards. Can honestly see this go to game 7 with Beckett and Schilling going back to back, and then see if Dice K can be a big game pitcher.mrgab
I doubt it since both Sabathia and Carmona pitched badand yet the Indians still won one of those games. And I doubt they'll pitch as poorly in games 5 and 6 (if necessary), so this series should be over in six games (if that).
