if either boston or cleveland makes it to the championship i think either of these teams would get blowed out by the lakers. the lakers average 100 points a game while boston and cleveland struggle to get 80. i don't really keep up with detroit but i don't think they can beat the lakers either.

Lakers Pistons would be a close series but I think the Lakers would take it.

The Lakers would destroy the Cavaliers.

Why do you say it should be investigated? I have to say though Utah made a great comeback tonight. Anyone see that major walk that Boozer did I think in the 4th quarter and there was no call?

Cuban said the same, people are just mad the Lakers got a great player. Blowed out no, the Lakers can be beaten, the Jazz could have done it if they didn't botch it. They had countless chances to win in games 1 and 5 but blew it each time. Lakers/Hornets would be a great series, just sit back and watch and have fun. Spurs I really want to lose, and without Bynum the Spurs would cause problems for LA even beat them. We need Bynum...I miss Bynum.

Like how Boston swept them? Oh wait..

You don't give the Cavs enough credit, they are a good team and could take almost anybody 7! I think Kobe/LeBron in the finals would rock. Spurs/Pistons would smell.

No, I say what I say because the Cavs don't have anyone who I think can effectively defend Kobe, while the other teams have players who could.

And yeah, I'd predict spurs/pistons would get the worst ratings a Finals has ever gotten.

The Hornets have a could chance to take them out. But I would have paid to see a Lakers/Suns Kobe/Shaq Western Conf finals.

There is no way I mean absolutey no way they would take the Lakers to 7 games. If the Lakers were to meet Cleveland in the finals I'm calling it now, Lakers would sweep them.

Don't do that, Celtics fans said the same and look at them now. Never call a sweep. I knew form the start Utah would take a few games.

I never thought that, some did but I lmew Utah had enough talent to really make the Lakers earn it. 4-2 is what I thought. This was a good series for LAL, they really came of age and have proven they can come thru in close games...But they need to do better.

Don't all the details of a trade go thru the league office and those insane NBA trade rules? What about the trade needs to be investigated?

It is rather hard to play 5v8, especially when 3 of those 8 have stripes

Here we go again with the excuses:roll:

The Lakers were the better team, and they won the series. Keep believing it was all the refs fault though if you like.

(preseason pick still is Spurs vs Pistons, which was the easy pick)

But, looks like Boston doesnt lose at home in the playoffs, and Lakers would have to visit there a possible 4 times. Pistons turn it on when they need to, and Cavs do have that playoff spark.

Lakers fans are officially the most ignorant homers (at least some of you). You can quote me on this, the Lakers will NOT win the championship, I'm not saying this because I hate the Lakers, they're a fun team to watch, but the fans and media are just getting out of control with all the hype about this team. If they went up against Boston or Cleveland they'd also struggle to up 80 points. And to those saying they would destroy the Cavs, think again. Clelevand destroyed Detroit last year, and they've only gotten better. They have a solid team but calling them clear favourites to win the championship is outrageous. Boston, SA, NO, and Detroit are just as good if not better, and Cleveland might surprise a lot of people again.

Are people still blaming the refs for Utah's loss. Get over it, don't forget the Jazz are top five league leaders when it comes to fouls commited per game and it showed yesterday, combination of that and the Lakers play style equals more fouls for LA. Lakers were hungrier and wanted it more, they came out aggressive andp layed good defense and Utah didn't string up a run til late. It got damn close but LA still came out with the win and thats all that matters. So quit whining about the refs because your just finding excuses that your team lost.

there are actually 2 defenders in the league who can guard kobe really well, prince on the pistons, and battier on the rockets. other then that, there is pretty much no defender that can really stop kobe

The Cavs don't have enough to stop odom, kobe(the mvp), or gasol, so that argument that the lakers would struggle to score 80 on them is laughable. Boston can't win a road game in these playoffs so you think that the lakers who beat utah at their home with the best home record would lose an away game at boston is laughable too. Detroit is not a team we have to worry about. the only "elite" detroit team was when Ben Wallace was on that team in 2004 and he was their biggest defensive presence. SA and the Hornets are the only 2 teams we have to worry about because they have the firepower and defense to keep up with the lakers.

Lakers wont win, look what they did, they let Utah come back form 20 down and get the final shot for a possible tie. Lakers would lose to the Pistons, IMO. Celtcis or Cavs would be a close one. I think the Lakers may lose to SA or NO before that though. Who cares how many points they score if they cant play any D? Pistons could take them down.

The Lakers would sweep the Cavaliers, it's not even close. They Cavs would have nobody at all to guard Kobe, Odom, or Pau.

I think whoever wins the West is going to win the title. I think the Lakers can win the west but it will be tough. We'll see.

Coming from a laker hater this doesn't say much at all, key is Lakers beat utah and thats all there is to it. They played very good defense the first three quarters of the game and got lazy in the fourth, what's your point. utah was down by as much as 19 because of the Laker D. They for whatever reason completely broke down in the fourth.

I actually think the Pistons could beat them if that's how the final two teams worked out to be. There team is good, with a deep bench and experienced.

I Think The Spurs Lakers series will be very close, and in the east i see the pistons coming out on top there.

In the finals if its the lakers or spurs, I think the Pistons are the only team that could beat the lakers (because of that scrappy hard nosed defence)

Boston, SA, NO, and Detroit are just as good if not better, and Cleveland might surprise a lot of people again.

weren't you the one that picked the suns to win it all all? and when I called you out for saying the lakers are the better team, you called me a homer back in like january lol. and to those teams that you said were good and if not better, lets go through that little list shall we.

I picked the Suns to win it all back when they had Marion, I gave up on them as soon as they traded for Shaq. Boston has more than enough firepower and defence to keep up with LA. They don't need to win a single road game and could still take the series. I agree that Detroit is no longer an elite team, but that defence can still be a threat. As for Cleveland, they probably wouldn't be able to beat LA because, simply put, they lack talent, but they do have one of the best players in the game in Lebron and a very potent defence. I'm calling you (Lakers fans) homers for the same reason I used to call Celticss fans that, you're crowning an unproven team NBA champions.

I actually think the Pistons could beat them if that's how the final two teams worked out to be. There team is good, with a deep bench and experienced.

it depends on when billups will be back. if he's back in time for the finals I think it will be a very close series but if not then the lakers would beat them

[QUOTE="Bauers-Twin"]Lakers wont win, look what they did, they let Utah come back form 20 down and get the final shot for a possible tie. Lakers would lose to the Pistons, IMO. Celtcis or Cavs would be a close one. I think the Lakers may lose to SA or NO before that though. Who cares how many points they score if they cant play any D? Pistons could take them down.TM1

Thats right, they played great for 3 quarters and then up by 16 in the 4th everybody but Kobe thought it was over and they got lazy. If they didn't get lazy it would have been a 20+ point blowout on Utahs own turf! But don't let this Laker haters get to you, we got a GREAT deep team and do have what it takes to go all the way, no matter how much they hate it.

And FYI, we played the Spurs better during the year than we did thr Hornets.

He will be back in time for Game 1 of the ECF's, I remember reading that off Yahoo I believe. Boston and Detroit are really the only teams I could see winning a ring out of the East.

Detroit has a better chance, I have said that Detroit was the only team who could beat Boston and I reaffirm that now. Cleveland and LeBrick WILL lose and it will be Boston/Detriot in the ECF. Detriot has a good shot and I think they are stronger against the West, mainly because they can win on the road and Boston can't.

Are you serious? He lead them to the Finals last year by himself. This series he hasn't shot that well, but still he generates in other categories well. Also, it's not like he consistently is bad in the playoffs. I bet you honestly think he is an average player.

All of you 400 hundered Lakers fans on this board are becoming ridiculous. Most of you.

Where did I say he was average? And Lebron choked texas dust in those finals. So don't bring up that series when he didn't play well and go ahead and ignore the fact Gibson played a HUGE role last year. chill out.

Yeah, Gibson was huge in the Detroit series and in this playoffs till he got hurt. Where did I say he wasn't?

Anyways, you called him LeBrick which would kind of mean that you believe he isn't all that good of a player. The Cavs were way over-matched in last year's Finals. They are a well balanced team, while the Cavs are heavily reliant on LeBron.

LTomlinson21

Then why only give LeBron credit when others stepped up?

I called him Lebrick because he doesn't that great of a jumper and has played terrible against Boston, look at his FG%, lots of people call him that. The cavs don't need to be and shouldn't be reliant on LeBron, this year they have delonte West so why not fall back on him more? And Gibson played in the finals, with Varejo and Big Z who is better than people admitt, there was no reason to put it all on Lebron and not trust others more. Even though they were outmatched and not ready to be there.

I wouldn't say others really stepped up besides Gibson. I think Z is doing much better this year in the playoffs then last year. But, whatever. They just don't have a true other consistent number two man.
