I just can't consider the Cavs as contenders.

Are you talking about the Cavs from two years ago that had no business being in the finals? I thought we were talking about the present. LJ is the most athletic player in the league, but he lacks skill in several areas. He has to thunder dunk because whenever he trys a lay-up it winds up back at the FT line as it bricks off the glass. Until LJ is on a team good enough were he is considered the second or third option, no championships for him.

your insane. If he was the 2nd or 3rd option on any team that would be some kind of dream team. He is the best player in the league arguably and he would be the 1st option for any team in the league possibly. And i haven't seen him miss very many layups.

The only way I can see him being the second option is if he was playing next to Kobe. And that's a push. Certainly Kobe in Clutch situations.

LeBron James is not a second option any more than Kobe Bryant is.

First of all, there is a second superstar on the Cavaliers roster. His name is Zydrunas Ilgauskas and he is posting numbers comparable to Andrew Bynum and any other great center in the league.TekkenMaster606

Sorry, but first, Andrew Bynum is not a great center, he is "only" a great young talented guy with a long way to go (comparing him with Big Z is an insult to Bynum, tho - his ceiling is way above Ilgauskas'). Second, Ilgauskas can't stop my grandmother under the basket - do you think he can stop guys like Dwight Howard? He can't even stop Rasheed Wallace (or worse: Andrea Bargnani) from dropping threes on him all day.

This team only goes as far as LeBron can carry it. Getting a guy like Mo Williams was the best thing they could do. Defenses have to guard him and that gives LeBron that much more room to operate. Ilgauskas isn't the 2nd superstar and he will never be.
