Wow. It only got a 7.2 over-all and a misreable 6.5 for graphics. Apparently it has serious Frame Rate issues. They are looking prett bad with 'The Show' getting editor's choice.

I'm still surprised. I knew 'The Show' would have better game play. But I thought 2K8 at least be in the ballpark with graphics.

The Show got an 8.5/8.25 at GameInformer, and gave 2K8 an 8.5/8, but I was shocked to see, on the graphics comments, they seemed to praise The Show a little more. What a shocking end to the 08 sports games.

I think 2K8 has KILLER gameplay and there is a bit of a framerate issue (360 version) but it's really not that big of a deal. If they patch it the game would be close to perfect!

yeah i am really confused at the different scores they both are getting. IGN gave the show a lot higher score but i was just watching x play and they gave 2k8 the higher score. I guess this is a toss up

I don't really like these kinds of games. It's just not my cup o' tea. I have other games I'd rather play but if y'all are enjoying them that's cool. Have fun. :P

Maybe one day they will grow on me.

Yeah, 2K8 does have some framerate issues but the gameplay is surprisingly solid considering all the changes they made.

I'm a huge fan of 'Road to the Show' in The Show. So it'll be hard for me to go back to 2K until they get some kind of superstar mode.

It's such an obvious thing too, having a superstar mode. It's going to take years coming up with one for 2K that doesn't totally bite off 'The Show".

sorry... have to disagree.

The Shows batting influence and base-running is a joke compared to 2K8.

Pitching is not as visceral or innovative as 2K8.

Even the crowd sonds better in 2k8.

Pros... for the Show..... Its the prettiest MLB game I've ever seen, but if you can't control all aspects of the game then whats the point?

May bad. My comment should read:

"Pros... for the Show..... Its the prettiest MLB game I've ever seen, but if you can't control all aspects of the game then whats the point?"

Control all aspects... In MLB 08, ball placement in batting is a dice roll. You can influance a hit but placing a hit is a guess. In MLB 2K8, the left stick controls the influance while the right is the swing. Depending on the pressure you place on the L stick you can drop that ball anywhere you want on the feild as long as the other variables are right (timing, pitch type, pitch speed, etc)

Base-Running... extremely simple since you can advance or retreat the runners with the trigger all the while fighting off the pitcher.

Pitching is more controlled in 2K8. At first the control scheme is a bit hairy but once you belt out a few it really feels good. IT almost feels like you literally throwing the ball.

Fielding is less automatic since each player has a gage and that gage determains control and power. MAking an acurate throw in 2k8 feels great.

I guess everyone has a personal preference but I don't like the 2K controls or gameplay. Especially in the 2K8 demo.. Somehow when you add it all up it doesn't "feel' like real baseball to me where as 'The Show' does.

I can't imagine anyone thinking that 2K is more realistic than the show in anyway. The crowd is more real and the coaches and players as well.?
