Tribe....better bullpen and starting pitching.

If Carmona gets a win the tribe wins the series

Yankees based on the fact that they slapped the Indians this season.

But they never played Sabbathia yet...

Indians. The only team I'd want the Yankees to win over would be the Cubs.

He calmed down now its 3-1 Indians, don't post during a game because when it turns around you look like a fool.

EDIT: 4-1

New EDIT: 9-3 Indians.

See how bad bad pitching hurts you, 9 runs in 5 innings.

Statistically the team that takes game one takes the series.

Good luck though, you need it with the rest of your starting pitching, you #1 guy got lite up what do you think will happen in game 2,3,4 if it goes there

I just noticed how the votes went from 75% yankees 25% indians, and now with game 1 done everyone is voting Indians and tied it up. BAND WAGON UP PEOPLE.

Atleast I voted Indians and Sox taking their espective series before i saw game 1's.

The Yankees won game one in the last 4 series they've been eliminated in.

Exactly, I don't the stat right here, but the Yankees usually win a series when they lose the first game. Hopefully the trend continues.

Understood, and yes...this series is far from over. The Yankees can just as easily come back and clobber em.

I just want my indians to get outta this world series drought they are in. They have been so close I don't know how many times, esp. in the 90's.

But heres to a healthy, and exciting series.

Indians in 3. So much for the 6-0 regular season record, they're just too old and washed up to make anything happen in the playoffs.

Locked in a pitching duel, but if this goes beyond the ninth inning, Yankees will lose. They have no one good in that bullpen except Rivera and Joba, and Joba just pitched over one inning.

At least Vizcaino threw a strike to make Hafner swing the bat, going 0-2 to Yankee Stadium, its look bad, hopefully Clemens pitches a good game and Joba doesn't need to worry about bugs.

Cleveland (the city) should be embarrassed by all the bugs that invaded the field. Good win by the Indians though.

I've been saying the Yankees wouldn't make it out of the first round long before the playoffs started. I even said in that other thread before the series that the 6-0 season record would mean nothing.

Be nice if the Indians went to the series, vs Cubs or Rockies, either have 2 teams with longest non world series win against each other, or 1 of those vs a first timer.

That was a great game. Pettitte came up with the big pitching performance the Yankees needed, but Carmona matched him pitch for pitch. It'll be interesting to see how the Yankees respond on Sunday. A-Rod has struggled and there's going to be a lot of pressure on the Rocket to pitch well.

Byrd and Westbrook (?) are decent pitchers. Either one of them should pick up a win against the Yankees' worse pitching.

Actually Wang might pitch Game 4 with Pettitte to follow on full days rest in Game 5 if the Yankees can make it back to that swap now known as The Jake. We all know sinker-ball pitchers are actually more effective when they are a bit tired and Wang is 10-4 with a ERA of 2.75 at Yankee Stadium.

Great game tonight, I really do belive Chamberlain was harshly affected by the Canadian Soldiers (sounds weird even typing that) in the bottom of the 8th inning. Those of you who argue that it was Chamberlain's nerves just look at the bottom of the 7th where he came in with runners on 2nd & 1st with 1 out and struckout Gutierrez on 3 sliders and got Blake to fly out harmlessly. Yes I know the C Soldiers were there in the 9th for Carmona but you guys saw it on TV, they were freaking swarming on Chamberlain, although they were still there for Fausto you saw that it was not as much.

I really believe in this Yankees club and with the pitching of Westbrook and Bryd to follow in a potential Game 4, I think the Bronx Bombers have a shot to send this back to Cleveland with Pettitte on the mound.

I just figured out that the first round is five games long so indians in 3
