It is going to be hell trying to fill his position. I wouldn't be surprised if some other players left with him considering how much of an influence he's been to that ball-club.helium_flash

Do you not know anything about baseball? The players are under contract. They can't just get up and say "I'm going with him". Besides that, baseball players are in it for the money they don't care if he's fired.

I never stopped to consider that. This whole thing could snowball if Steinbrenner just ups and fires Torre.

Just looked at the box score, makes you wonder if Mussina(4.2 IP, 2 Runs)had started, would it had been different?

Let me guess, Red Sox? A $165,000,000 payroll isn't chump change buddy. And if you like the Indians, they did good but if you think they're beating the Red Sox that's a joke. That's coming from a Yankee fan.

Well, I'm glad I didn't make any foolish predictions like many other Yankee fans. I think it's timefor Torreto go.To be honest, I'd prefer it if the Yanks cut most of the big contracts, and focused on rebuilding. Big contracts don't seem to win rings.

The better team won. Cleveland shut doen our hitters and our pitching just wasn't that good. I thought that if the Indians had any chance against the Sox they had to win tonight to get their rotation set. Here looking foward to the ALCS and next season for the Yanks.

Indians have better starting pitching.....better middle relief....

Redsox have a better closer

Hitting is almost a wash....slight edge to Boston.

Will be close

BETTER STARTING PITCHING? Beckett is going to wint he Cy Young, he has an edge of CC. Shilling is one (if not the best) play-off pitcher ever, his game is a no brainer. Matsuzaka is a coin flip. Byrd and Wakefield= a good game depending on whos on point. Middle releif is a coin flip, if we have Okajima of old he is going to be lights out plus we have Delcarmen Timland and Gange(if we get the Gagne of old he will be spectacular).

If anything this game is a VERY Evenly matched game with the edge slightly in the Sox favor.

Agreed. You don't know what is going to happen with Matsuzaka pitching, but Beckett and Schilling will be probably be great.

I'm still thinking Okajima will be good. I am seriously hoping they don't put Gagne in...UGH.

Gagne has had good outings the past few times. I don't mind seeing him out there, but not in Game is on the line situations. I like him closing out a game with a 4 run lead and such. Okajima has also been good the past few outings. Heres to winning the WS.

He plays Shilling. He has no chance ;-)

I kid it will be a good match up, but Shilling has suck a great post season history. He is 4-0 with a .89 ERA I beleive in post season. Plus i mean.. BLOODY SOCK. The man played on a foot with blood dripping out of it.
