What the game earlier today proved that Cutler is not tough. He could have tried coming back in but he didn't. With that being said, no one knows the extent of damage his injury was so lets wait a bit before we judge him harshly.
[QUOTE="No_Hablo_Ingles"]Well... I don't really care, but Dockett has pretty bad grammar "... jay cutler has to wait till me and the team shower get dressed and leave..." WHAT IS THIS! No commas! No Capitalization of JAY CUTLER! and it's "The team and I" not "Me and the team" *shakes head*geaux321I hope that's sarcasm, because commenting on someone not using proper grammar on Twitter is just stupid. I'm never ever sarcastic! Facetious on the other hand...
Cutler said he was benched because the injury was affecting his footing. Can't really say he's a quitter if that's true. But people need someone to blame, I guess.
[QUOTE="senses_fail_06"]MJD trying to say something? really? pretty sure that dude just missed the most important game of his teams history. yokofox33
He had torn knee cartilage. Pretty sure it's almost impossible to play when you have that.
so if jay ends up having a tear than he should just stfu then because he would have no right to speak right? who cares people are going to hate what they want to hate. its how things go[QUOTE="senses_fail_06"]MJD trying to say something? really? pretty sure that dude just missed the most important game of his teams history. yokofox33

Jay was walking around fine, so I doubt it was a tear. You get taken out on a stretcher with a torn ligament in your knee.Yeah, he was clearly hobbled, but the fact is he didn't want it enough. I lost pretty much all the respect I had for Cutler today. People get injured like that all the time in football. Steve McNair played through several serious injuries throughout his career. As did Favre, Drew Brees, Jim Kelly, John Elway, just to name a few. The point is those guys wanted it and they showed toughness and grit, something every QB needs to show. Cutler just proved he's soft and isn't motivated enough. He gave up, he really did. And that's sad to me.

ya i agree with you that mjd trying to play would have been impossible but its really not right of him to criticize jay if jay has a torn knee ligament but its not gonna matter when its one game from the big dance your going to get ripped and what doesnt kill you makes you stronger so good luck jay. bears went farther than anyone thought and they have one of the best d's in football so they can bounce back and still be competitive next year.People who don't know about anything going on are jumping to conclusions, surprise!

Cutler will get all the hate and thats just the way its gonna work out. Cutler was always bad with the media and fans so he is an easy target. His first year in Chicago didn't earn him any respect or favors with the fans.
Honestly whats the big deal? Its not like Cutler was going to win anyways the way he was playing. The dude is inconsistent, Bears are better off getting rid of him.
All i know is 3 years ago Phillip Rivers basically blew out his knee in the 2nd round of the playoffs, had arthroscopic surgery to clear what was reported to be "a sprained/partially torn MCL" the day after that game, one week later he played in the AFC championship. After that game was over it was revealed that he completely tore his ACL, which is a much more serious injury. I'm not here to question Cutler, but hmmm? And i don't want to hear about Lovie Smith pulling him, do you think Phillip Rivers complained on the sideline or in the locker room that his knee was sore?
He better go home tonight and take a hammer to his knee to MAKE SURE that it's severly damaged, cause if it's not, he might as well pack up cause no man in any locker room will respect him, believe in him, or have confidence in him to lead a team ever again.
Here's the Rivers story for those who forgot

He wasn't out there with his men. That's what matters. Win, lose or draw, if you are able to stand in a playoff game you play. That's the reason I have no respect for L.THonestly whats the big deal? Its not like Cutler was going to win anyways the way he was playing. The dude is inconsistent, Bears are better off getting rid of him.

Ladanian Tomlinson you mean? If so I agree he's a sore loser, to rub it in; LT that win against the Pats still feels good even though you lost the AFC title game?

I forgot there are two... the Bad L.T that plays for the Jets, not the Beast LB.I said this in the Packers/Bears thread: Even if he seriously injured his knee or it was'nt his call to be pulled from the game, what is stopping him from helping Hanie out with the photos on the sideline? That's the real problem, even if he really tore something, why did he look so disinterested and, honestly, "pouty" on the sidelines? Real leaders don't do that. Real leaders come out of the locker room on crutches (because that's what it would take to keep them out of the game) and do thier best to fire their team up. They help out the inexperienced guy thats just been shoved into the NFC Championship game because they wan't the TEAM to win. After Cutler got pulled, he looked like he wanted to be somewhere else, simply because he was'nt involved anymore.People who don't know about anything going on are jumping to conclusions, surprise!

I would think having your own coach trolled for an entire night would be reason enough to not do the same thing to other teams' coaches/players. Oh well, shows what I get for sticking up for an Eagles' fan.

That's assuming that Cutler had any advice to give to Hanie, this guy's not green when it comes to studying. Sure, he hasn't played a lot, but he's been around enough to know a few things about the game, and from what I hear they have to keep every QB up to speed on Martz's offense, so if he wasn't prepared before the game then nothing Cutler says is going to help him after. As to the crutches thing, you can walk without pain and still be at risk of serious injury, in fact I believe Cutler was trying to walk the injury off for a long time. It's ridiculous to say that someone's weak because they didn't take an action which could potentially end their career. Besides, it's not like it's Cutler's choice, they have an entire medical staff that has a say in this sort of thing and Lovie has the final word on if he goes back in. I'm sure there was somewhere Cutler would have liked to be other than the sideline, under center taking snaps, but that's not his call.
i don't mind that he got injured and didn't try to people but what i do mind is his dejected attitude and deciding to not help or talk to either collins or haine. this is unforgiveable i've been watching football for over a decade and i've never seen a player quit like he didn't and again it isn't the injury but to simply sulk in a corner is downright disgusting. there was a shot of haine feverishly combing through the playbook on the sideline with cutler just sitting next to him motionless HELP HIM FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. do something to atleast show you care. i can take losing as a bears fan but i can't take know their is a player on our team that simply doesn't care for the game as much as i do. there is no one in the NFL with the physical gift culter has for throwing the football but rather than improving himself he feels it perfect the way he is. get him out of chicago now don't care what we get for him just get him out

So you saw a 10 seconds clip of him and decide to base entirely your judgment upon that? And WTH anyway, I saw him talking with Haine at some point as well. But he doesnt need to babysit him either.

no i'm not basing this off just a 10 second clip you watch every single time the cameras went to the bears sidles their cutler would just sit their with that same "i don't care, i don't want to be here" look that he's had ALL season whenever the chips are down. there was also a shot of collins and haine looking at the playbook together with martz right next the them and then culter sitting far from them not looking at them and yes i know he has no obligations to help haine but the guy is a 3rd string QB he get ZERO reps in practice and was thrust into a moment much bigger he needs all the help he can get this isn't an over reaction to just this game(sorta) this is a culmination of everything in jay cutlers career and in this one game just justified everything the media and fans have been saying about him. there are stories galore of people trying to communicate with jay and him just tuning them out. you can't win with guys like cutler end of story and this is coming from a fan that has supported him when others didn'tIf the report comes out that Cutler only had "Sprain" in his knee... he's going to get CRUSHED for not manning up and playing!!!
Guys play full seasons on a sprained knee. If the Team Doctor tells Cutler it's only a sprain... he needs to tell them to BREAK his leg! Otherwise he will come off like a total wimp and chump for sitting out. Tell the doctors to 'Sweep the Leg' Cutler!

He could had easily went into the locker room and act like he couldnt even stand on the sidelines. But he didnt, he stayed with his teammates. And now you're judging him on his facial expression? He always has that same expression on his face, no matter what. So dont over-interpret any of this non-sense. The guy was hurt, and couldnt play effectively, so he took the mature decision of letting a healthy QB to run the offense instead.
Also, the 3rd QB does gets reps in the practice, but simply not with the starters. And he also learns the offense the same as everybody in the offense roster.
He is a whiny baby, but I definitely don't think he quit. It's easy for a bunch of guys sitting on a couch in their heated home with a slice of pizza next to them to pass judgment on some guy who is playing one of the most physical sports in 9 degree weather. But we have no idea what happened to him, whether it was his choice to come out, we know nothing.
Once again: I am not saying he was faking, or questioning his toughness. I'm not even questioning whether or not the decision was taken out of his hands by the coaching staff, it by all means could have been. I am asking why, WHY did he cease to be a TEAMEMATE when he was taken out of the game. Everytime you saw him on the sideline he was loping around doing nothing but taking up space. And @ theone86. It was'nt a "I wish I was back under center" look. It was a "I wonder what I want for dinner? Bologna and mustard sounds nice..." look.He is a whiny baby, but I definitely don't think he quit. hanie got zero reps with the offense this is coming out of his mouth in an interview after the game. phillip river played with a TORN acl and was limping the entire game cutler was walking around yes he may have not had the ability to plant and throw but still he could have continued. how many times have we heard about brett favre gutting it out with numerous injuries of his career? football is a tough game and you gotta suck it up an play even when injuried great QB's that have a passion for the game like Favre do jay doesn't have that toughness and doesn't have that passionPlease Log In to post.
