Well I wouldnt say he has proven himself yet. He only did well in 35 games last season before he injured himself. He needs to perform well again next season before he has proven himself.

But yah Kobe is a piece of work. He bashes his team constantly asks for a trade and then he gets a trade for a great platyer and pretends he never said any of it. Lakers fans seem to not care either lol.

yea and now kobe is viewed as this "great teammate". get the hell outta here w/ that crap. You just better hope the lakers don't fall down 2-0 or 3-1 in this series, cause i can just see the real kobe standing up at that point.

I know you're one that would love to see kobe and the lakers lose in the finals because you hate seeing Kobe dominate the game today like your old boy Jordan once did

no more so because for the last 5 years i've told anybody who would listen that Kobe would never win a title as the man and i'm one series away from shoving my foot in my mouth. LOL. And i would like to see the celtics win but i have to be objective here and put all feelings aside, i believe the lakers are the better team at the moment and i am prepared to answer dozens of phone calls begining with the words "i told you so". But with that being said i still don't think he is all of the sudden a different player when just last November his own fans were booing him. It's just easy to mask that stuff when your team is successful. What's that old saying, a leopard never changes its stripes. I just want to see how he acts if they lose. I will respect him on a whole new level if he conducts himself in defeat the way he has thus far in victories. We'll see.

Not one of Kobe's proudest moments. We all make mistakes, and this is a fairly minor one as mistakes go. Thank God for forgiveness!

Lol about spygate. Yeah I find it hard to believe a girl who had more partners than Kobe has team mates and is now is rehab for cocaine. Oh course this is the first time a person has claimed rape so that they didn't seem promiscuous. Good job on taking the cheap shot though Osmo.

Cheating on your wife and cheating in sports isnt on par with raping a woman. I only brought it up as a joke ebcause Murlow said it was a minor mistake as if he never made any big ones.

I had no idea Kobe cussed that much!

But I guess it's because we always see him in front of cameras as this icon. But that should be no surprise.

But then again, David Robinson and AC Green never cusses. ;)

The evidence proved that Kobe didn't rape that woman. It was a consensual encounter and she tried to get money out of him. Girls play that rape card against millionaire atheletes all the time.

Nice try with the cheap shot, though.

That's BS; and I would like you to present evidence to support your claims. The original case was dismissed because the alleged "victim" wasn't willing to testify. And the civil lawsuit was SETTLED by both parties.

Didn't that girl Kobe was with that night have like three different guys semen in her panties. The evidence was too small too acttually say he did rape her, so many women nowadays pull the rape card so you'll never know. I don't know and no one here knows if it was really rape. Of course it's always used as a cheap shot against him but whatever.

It's funny, at the beginning of the year, i kept telling my cousin they should trade Kobe. Right now things are great, but at the beginning i didn't care if the Lakers traded Kobe, i actually wanted them to trade Kobe :o

It was a minor thing, she's still with him so obviously it was no big deal :| Was there evidence to show that he did rape her? If not i'll take it as a women trying to get money out of a millionaire star athlete, kind of how Jordan paid off strippers he slept with.

We all know nothing. Charges were dropped because she wouldn't testified. Maybe she was lying, maybe she was scare like many victims are and decide is better to not go on because the abuse woman tend to take in this cases is sometimes even more brutal than the rape itself. Its reasons like this that i don't like Kobe at all. If for some unlikely reason his team mates started to struggle i bet he would be whinning and dissing them now. If your considered one of if not the most skilled athlete in your sport you should really be helping guys develope, not talking smack.

LOL @ people that think Kobe actualyl raped that girl:lol:

That girl was a stank hoe goldigger trying to get money. Does anyone remember how when they questioned the girls friends they said she was "bragging" about having sex with Kobe? She is a godamn joke. What about all the mix ups in her stories that she told to police? I have no reason to believe her accounts of what happened, especially when athletes are accused of rape by goldigger girls all the time.

No, actually I'm not, but I admit I always get a chuckle when people bring up the whole rape case when Kobe's name pops up.

Maybe if the girl actually had some hard evidence and didn't give conflicting stories to the police then I would give her a tiny bit of credibility. But I have no reason to believe her side of the story.

Well, sticking to the facts, the LAKERS are a better team after all that fiasco took place--with kobe calling out his players and asking to be traded. The lakers actually did something to help him. Yea,he could of done it more tactfully, but winning cures all. :) He was right to call out his players, but at the same time, I think he could of done it in the locker room---maybe he did, but none of us will ever know that.

if you read the whole story and get all of the facts, this case is not similar to OJ or MJ. you would clearly see that he was innocent, as proven by dropped charges.

Actually, OJ was found liable for the deaths in civil court. Yes, he was equitted in criminal court, but found responsible in civil court.

OJ killing, Kobe raping, etc etc etc, none of us were there or even saw any of the evidence so nobody knows anything. Kobe could of never even touched the girl or maybe they had a gangbang with her and raped, we will never really know the truth. But it will always be in the back of Kobe's wife's mind and every woman he ever meets. Its like letting Michael Jackson babysit for you. They might not be able to prove but you will always think it.

perfectly understandable. just becoz he's a great player doesn't mean he's a perfect guy. nobody is. people are critical only becoz he's iconic -- i wouldn't say hate, that's too strong an expression. but the fact that some folks only pick on Kobe when apparently the league, both past and present, is full of problematic players really shows you how fair their judgement is. ;)

and about that rape thing, the only fact remains that he is not guilty, since there isn't even a charge to speak of. i have an idea of what it's really about, but the legal procedure is intact and Kobe is not a rapist. some guys around here clearly have no respect for the legal system, and i wonder if they themselves have the right to comment.
