the most selfish player i've seen in a while. This guy basically had his wrist broken last night when he got HBP, but instead of sitting out today's game he felt it was necessary to start to keep HIS consecutive streak going. He couldn't even put his injured hand on the bat. He batted second in the line up, and bunted so he didn't have to swing because he was physically unable to do so. After the at bat he got yanked and is done for the game. I am a Cal Ripken fan so of course i have some bias towards this but that is rediculous. Ripken NEVER did anything like that. He only left the game 2 times in the first inning during his streak and that was because he was ejected for arguing strikes, which is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT scenerio. I just felt like venting but for a team that is struggling to get in the win column this guy is more worried about his personal issues than the teams success. He just lost any respect he may have had in my book

explain to me what playing with one hand does for him or his team. You had to see the game to believe it. Check baseball tonight or sportscenter i'm sure they'll talk about it. It was an absolute joke.

um I say cry about it, You think Tejada wants to keep the streak or he wants to hang with his team. Your just ignorant to think he would want to break the record so he stayed in the game. Its call Pride buddy.

OK, whatever gets you through the night. if you want to believe he's playing for pride and not personal goals be my guest, but considering i live in baltimore and this was a major discussion on the localsports networks let me be the first to say - YOU'RE WRONG

like omg i cant believe tejada is being so selfish on a horrible team and trying to keep a personal streak and or goal alive. man u have to hate the bastard. the only reason it looks worse is because he is on the 0's and well that is ripken's fing team dang it. if it was on the d rays or some other crappy team guareenteed not going to the playoffs u wouldnt be complaining. its all because of ripken's number and he is still no where near that anyways.

What's so bad about that? It's not like Baltimore will be winning any games anyway.

um no blame the manager if you want to get mad at someone. it was HIS idea. he said in some interview he has respect for Tejada and he didn't know how serious the injury was at first
