1.) Carmelo Anthony(Denver Nuggets)-Being compared in skills with Wade and Lebron? No thats overrated for him he's inferior to them

2.) Jason Kidd(Dallas Mavericks)-Triple doubles can be overrated if you get 10-10-10, doesn't help team much. Getting paid big money, D.Harris>Kidd

3.) Andrew Bynum(Los Angeles Lakers)-People always say he is next big man to explode and be a force to be reckon with. Really? I haven't seen it, OVERRATED!

4.) Hedo Turkoglu(Toronto Raptors)-The money he is earning definately makes him overrated. Missing clutch FT's down stretch cost Magic chance to extend NBA Final series.

5.) Tim Duncan(San Antonio Spurs)-Before you go crazy listen here, he is still a great PF. But to say he is still the best PF in the game now? NO OVERRATED!

My PF ranks are as follows.

1.) Kevin Garnett (Boston Celtics)

2.) Dirk Nowitzki (Dallas Mavericks)

3.) Pau Gasol (Los Angeles Lakers)

4.) Tim Duncan (San Antonio Spurs)

5.) Carlos Boozer (Utah Jazz)

Reason for Tim Duncan 4 and others ahead?

  • Timmy is getting old.
  • A center body playing PF (Not a real reason but it bothers me when compared to other PF rather than other C's)
  • Same post move becoming a bit predictable, though some teams/players can't stop it.
  • Health
  • Poor FT shooting, must admit gotten better than years before but still
  • Doesn't run the floor well at all.

I know having Garnett number 1 is contradicting myself when i say Timmy health makes him inferior. But I am assuming that last year injury was a fluke, and if it wasn't then Move KG to 3 spot.

Don't get me wrong, I dont think Timmy sucks at all. Still great at what he does. But when people say he IS the BEST PF in the game NOW? I have to disagree. He's in the list, but he's NOT the best ANYMORE. Age just made it that way

First of all KG and Duncan are the same age :| 2nd of all he carried the Spurs to 4 championships something KG has only done once with his team. Duncan has 3 finals MVP's as well. Duncan might have the same post move but does it matter if teams can't stop it? Does it make Shaq or Kareem overrated too? And Putting Nowitzki at #2 is a joke. He may have a nice jumper and all but he sure as hell can't carry a team like Timmy nor can he defend like duncan. Offense isn't the only thing that makes a player great ;) if I had a choice I wouldn't even have Nowitzki in my top 5. He hasn't done anything in the playoffs to make me believe he is one of the best in the game

Well the way Dirk carried the Mavs last year impressed me. Perhaps a bit to high. But if i had a choice, Tim or Kevin, i choose Kevin Garnett. He seems a bit more agile and in my eyes a better defender. If it weren't for the lackluster teams he had in Minnesota i think perhaps he would have his fair share of rings. Dirk carried the Mavs to the Finals, only to lose to my Miami Heat :), but still he did that, and yea he lost to GS 1st round next year but right now i think he is better than people give him credit for. That is my opinion. Now best PF of all time? No question about it, Duncan.

I would really like to hear why lebron james is overrated, when statistically he improved on 3pt, FG%, defense(much better posting up since pre-olympic days)/shots blocked, foul shot percentage went up an immense amount. He helped turn around a dismal team in the early 2000's into a legit title contender, one of the most dominate paint players maybe all time, is on pace to become a top 3 scoring in NBA history, and top 5 assists. NBA MVP, etc, etc

please, lay off the hater-ade.

I'm not calling him Michael Jordan, Magic, etc...but the guy is owed his due, regardless of character mistakes he's made lately.

Four rings, three finals MVP > 2 rings between two players in two different teams, no finals MVPs.

Nuff' said.

What has Tim Duncan done lately? Show signs of breaking down. I am not disputing who is the best PF, that is obviously Tim Duncan. But right now, this upcoming season, people are expecting the same Timmy from before, he is not up to par to the old one, thus making him overrated. Don't think I am saying Duncan sucks, because I am not saying so, I am just saying as of right now this instance and upcoming season, he is a bit overrated and right now there are PF that can deliver better than he can, he is breaking down slowly...

And Duncan alone can't carry a team. Other than Parker and a injured Ginobli, who else did the Spurs have? Boston at least some back-up.

I see a lot of you guys naming players that are actually good, but not playing to the best of their abilities. For instance Dirk, we all know he can shoot the ball pretty well and score from almost anywhere, but he doesn't seem to take advantage of his size in the low post. I remember Dirk trying to play down low and attempt to out rebound everyone else. Turns out it worked, but for some reason he stopped doing it after only a couple months during their trip to the finals against the Heat. Hasn't ever returned to the beast he could have been in 06.

PG- Derrick Rose (Bright future, but he put up decent, not great, numbers on an average team.)

SG- Joe Johnson (Would put t-mac here, but he's lost to much respect. Joe Johnson isn't a top 5 SG.)

SF- Kevin Durant (Just like Derrick Rose, a bright future, but he isn't a good team leader, and OKC was not a good team.)

PF- Amare Stoudemire(sp?) and Carlos Boozer ( Do they really make their teams better? Don't get me started on Boozer. So boring. What does he add to any NBA team?)

C- Yao Ming (A great talent, so why is he on this list? He can't stay on the court, that's why!)

I think your knock on Durant is unfair. He is a great player but that is a very very young team and he is young as well. This team together needs some time and a good coach.

The Blazers are an even younger team, and look where Brandon Roy took them. Yet most people think of Kevin Durant as a better player.

The Blazers are a better team tho. With or without Durant... OKC is bad. Durant is still a great player. Better than Oden that's for sure. We wouldn't be talking about this had the Blazers went with him instead lol.
