Steve Nash by a longshot. He makes his team mates so much better, and he himself is an incredible player, averaging around 12 assists a game and around 19 points per game. Not to mention that when he's playing his team mates averages go way up, and the fact that they've lost a couple games after Nash was injured, and you know when a player is the most valuable.

east choice - Nash. As when hes not in the lineup the Suns are vulnerable. With, they are a top team.

I think you misspelled Kobe Bryant in those poll choices I'll say Nash for now, though I think Dirk could take it in the second half

Since the MVP is the most-valuable-player, I see no reason how it cannot be Steve Nash.

Didn't he get it last year? I know that doesn't mean anything if he did, but I'd rather see someone else get it.

My bad then

My "biased picks" for MVP so far are McGrady from the West and Carter from the East

remember, MVP usually goes out to the best player on the best team, and if dallas keeps on playing like this, its probably a lock for dirk. Nash is gonna give him a run for his money though

OMG, I don’t think you could have spelled Nowitzki any worse! Lol  Just more proof that Dirk is the most underrated player in the NBA because he does a lot of things that don’t show up on the stat sheets and he doesn’t do commercials.  Name another 7 footer that shoots 90% from the free throw line.

career highs in every stat category for him, before he got injured the suns had their best record yet, and now he gets in jured and they lose a bunch of games, which for him, is a good thing.

Right now i would say Nash, even though i dont think he deserved it the past 2 years. But it really depends on which star does the best near the end of the season and if he can bring his team into the playoffs and win it all.

Geez, at least learn how to speel Dirk's last name, you weren't even close to it. You got the first three letters right and then the whole thing broke down.

I live in LA and i'm a huge Kobe fan but you gotta give it up to Mcgrady, the Heat have a better record then the Lakers. Houston is right behind San Antonio in the standings. Kobe is the better player for sure but the overall better team right now is Houston.

I think we should all assume you murdered Dirk's last name on purpose, if not... What about D Wade. So what they are .500. They just got Shaq back and are 7-1 in there last 8. They already beat Dallas without Shaq too. Look for the heat to make a run and watch Wade lead them.

Dirk. His team has the best record in the NBA, and they went to the finals last year (should have one, but didn't because of the refs man love for Dwyane Wade)

doesnt make him the mvp

dirk isnt what makes the mavericks tick, they are like the new england patriots - it doesnt center around one man. its a full team effort. they would still win 50 games without him. mvp doesnt mean the best player on the best team. its the player whos MOST VALUABLE to his team, and nash is 100x more valuable to phoenix than dirk is to dallas.

p.s dirks numbers are worse than last year, nashs are better, both teams are better than last year.

p.s phoenix 60 win team with nash, 25 win without

p.s dallas 60 win team with dirk, 50 win team without

You can't make arguments based on conjecture like that, no one knows what would happen to either team if their superstar was out for an entire season.

Dirk is by far the most complete, important and talented player on the Mavs and he is the main reason they are championship contenders. He's sacrificed some of his personal stats to achieve better overall team play this season but that makes him no less of an MVP candidate. If anything it shows growth as a player, you've got to respect that.

Nash is the favorite for MVP and will remain that way barring unforseen circumstances, but to say he's 100x more valuable than Dirk is just some straight up hate.

I'd say what it the whole Dirk and Steve Nash stats prove Dallas is a the best Team in the NBA even with out Dirk. And then if you think about it the Mavs have lost 9 games. And 4 of them were the 1st for games of the season. So if they had one those games they would be on pace to have a 76-10 record Tieing them with the 97-98 Bulls. Right now i say Dallas Wins The Finals and loses 14 games this Season
