It SHOULD be Durant, but it will go to LeBron. Durant will get his eventually though (unless he pulls a Grant Hill and goes injured).

This. I mean what Durant is doing is simply outstanding. He plays in the Western Confrence but has his team at the 5/6th playoff spot.

Yeah the NBA doesn't care though. They will give it to Lebron for marketing purposes. Sad what has happened to the NBA. But Durant is 21 and if he stays healthy he has many good years in front of him.

LeBron hes leading his team to a number 1 spot and is putting up better numbers than Durant while doing it.

I like Lebron but to be fair I picked Kevin Durant. He deserves it the way hes been playing. Lebron already has one, and Steve Nash already has 2. He shouldnt even be mentioned for MVP.

I would never give MVP to some that doesn't play defense *cough* nash *cough* so you can scratch him off the list.

Right now it's

1. Lebron

2. Kobe

3. Durant

4. Carmelo

5. ?

this, but Kobe might be a notch behind Durant. But maybe that's because I just haven't seen him play in forever. Thankfully he comes back tongight vs. Memphis.

You guys most be joking, the Lakers are a playoffs team(a top 4 team in the West if you ask) without Kobe and replacing him with an average guy(should learn something about Wins Above Replacement). The Lakers beat 3 West playoffs team in Kobe's absence, 4-1 overall(with the loss being a 1 point loss to a more than capable Celtics team). Without Durant or Nash their teams are CRAP. Also, who cares if Nash has two MVP's already? I f he is the MVP, then he is the MVP.

not a fan of Lebron at all, but im pretty sure itll go to him. He's playing outa his mind and he's leading the cavs to best record in maybe the whole NBA or at least the east... but if they keep losing games now, it might be in jeapordy. Plus, he is a more well rounded player than Durant is, though gotta give durant props with getting the OKC Thunder to a high ranking. When i saw that, my eyes literally popped. One more thing, Lebron has A LOT of hype. Though his value itself should be enough to seal him with an mvp bar something terrible happening, he also has a fully loaded hype train of momentum to back him up.

Durant is kinda manufactured to a much lesser extent than Lebron, and had happen more frequent in the past few draft. Stern works his magic on the new hot draft pick and he pull some extra free throws to make it happen for them. He does that with high picks, for example he gave a bit of help for Rose last year to give him some hype with the nod of ROY and a 7 game series with Boston, 7 games?? Doesnt that sound a bit weird talking about milking. Griffin was to be the next guy thats why Clippers have about 5-10 national televised games compare only measely two last year, but he was injured so that never came to be.

Okay enough of my conspiracy rumbling, I am bias I choose Kobe :). In reality I would say Lebron because he does a lot of work on the floor, he plays bron ball where he has to always have to score from the key rather than from plays unlike other teams. His team is not nearly as talented as Lakers and the coach is some what of a joke.

lol and the suns are more then capable of playing well too even without Nash. Just look at tonight, The suns were without steve nash and they beat Durant and the Thunder. Dragic who filled in for Nash had 16 points and 10 assists oh yeah did anyone see the game winner by Kobe tonight? THE DAGGER! make that 6 for the year so far ;)

unless stern could activate the magnets whenever ben gordon or ray allen shoots, the 7 games series was legit. boston was missing kg and they were not a championship team anymore at that point.

All is forgiven except oj mayo missed and he's on my fantasy team... not that i check anymore because im lazy and have just accepted i'm gonna lose (i had amare and stephen jackson on the bench for two months and didnt even know it XP that's how long i havent checked.

1. LeBron 2. Durant - He is playing out of his mind right now. Once the '03 draft class is past its prime, he's going to be at the top of the NBA.

I've lived in OK since 2005, and I've had the opportunity to see Durant night in and night out.

He's the real deal, that game against the Knicks last saturday was amazing! He hit the game tying 3, then took the game over in overtime.

Also, don't sleep on Jeff Green and Russell Westbrook! This Thunder team is gonna be a contender in a year or two!

But they're not right now, and thats why LeBron's gonna win his 2nd MVP.

Okkkaaayyy... says the Cavs fan. Were you saying the same two-three years ago about Lebron? You do realize that Durant is playing in the West, not the " over half the teams are below .500" East? He's got a pretty weak team around him and has them in playoff contention. How is the guy not deserving? Seriously, you take Durant away from that team and they're a **** show. I don't see how it's stupid to say he deserves MVP over Lebron.

Yeah, since the Cavs would be epically good still without LeBron right? Sure Durant's in the West and it's tougher, but LeBron means just as much if not more to his team than Durant does to his! Plus, we said saying Durant deserves it OVER LeBron is stupid. The guy is playing great, but LeBron is playing better. Simple as that.

Obviously Lebron is worthy of MVP and means just as much to his team. What I am saying is, it's not stupid to say Durant is more deserving. Especially since he plays against better competition more often.

Kevin Durant - He plays in the West. He leads a very young team which is hard to do in a league of veterans. They are in the playoff hunt, and I feel like they have a decent chance to make some noise in the playoffs. It will be hard to stop KD in a 7 game series. Also he has a streak going right now that only the GOAT MJ, has higher. That's pretty incredible for someone who is 21 years old playing amongst grown men. This is my opinion.

I guess I'm stupid though because my OPINION doesn't match up with the above posters. I think it's stupid for someone to call somebody stupid for expressing their opinion on a topic where they were asked to do so.

Look what OKC was last year. Now look at them this year. Let me remind you they play in the West. CLE was great last year. They got better this year, and not because of LeBron. LeBron is still the same LeBron, the team got better. Let usstop giving MVPs, Heismans, Player of the Year awards to the Best Player on the Best Team, PLEASE it is MOST VALUABLE PLAYER!

Though he is the best player in the league his team showed very little problem to win without him so I think it has more of a chance than someone like Lebron where everything his team does goes through him.

This is an MVP

remember that game against the Celtics and the Lakers didn't know what the hell to do in the final seconds of the game...That's because they didn't have a go to guy when Kobe was out, an MVP needs to be a go to guy. Someone that can bail them out in the final seconds, someone that can make clutch shot after clutch shot, someone plays great offense AND great defense...It comes down to Lebron and Kobe, Durant doesn't play great defense yet. Also It's funny to hear people mention Durant but they never mention Russell Westrbrook who is steadily becoming an elite PG in the league

Not if you're Canadian you don't! Haven't you seen the NBA rules? Section 158, Article 2.68 states, and I quote, "Any player hailing from the countries of Canada or France need not play defense to be eligible to win the MVP award. Furthermore, if players from said countries don articles of clothing typical of their regions they will receive 5 bonus votes. 7 if the Canadian dons a full mounty suit." NBA rules don't lie man.
