Because teams in the past have bombed seasons on purpose to get that #1 pick and as we saw with LBJ, a superstar player can turn a franchise upside down or right side up..........X360PS3AMD05Exactly, tanking is horrible.
Good one. LeBron owes Cavs fans nothing, right? :lol:Like LeBron said "Karma is a B**** and this is the karma on the Cavaliers Fans and the city of Cleveland. He should have the rights to "Take his talents to South Beach" because he gave them seven years and he was a free agent so he had the right to go anywhere that he wanted too. But back to the record they have no players and will always be one of the worst Sport franchises ever.

[QUOTE="No_Hablo_Ingles"]Wanna know what's worse then tanking? The worse team in the NBA not getting the #1 overall pick and being forced to draft 3rd.-Halftime-Please, losing on purpose is the lowest of the low
I don't think so.
Once you have no chance at the playoffs, as the Cavs obviously do not have, then it's OK to tank games. Getting a superstar player for the future is more important than winning meaningless games that no one will care about the next day.
Dream Matchup: (Assuming the Cavaliers are still losing by the 13th of February:) Wizards@Cavaliers. Cavaliers would have lost 27 straight at that point, and Washington has yet to win a road game (assuming they don't win one this week) Which streak gives? Unfortunately, this game will not be nationally televised, this is as good as it gets.bobcheeseball
I want to see it too just cause it would be funny if the Wizards could at least win on the road at Cleveland. A team that knocked us out the playoffs so many times and to win there would be awesome. That's if the streaks for either team stays the same. :P

I suppose. I agree with the design of trying to prevent a team from tanking, but it can also really screw the worst team over. Who knows if the Cavs are tanking it right now, but we wouldn't be able to tell because of how bad most of the players they put on the court are. If they finish with the worst record and end up not having the #1 pick, it could really prolong their inability to be a good team. The NBA draft already always has some terrible talent and usually outside of the top 5, probably even less, a lot of the players only have potential and are a gamble. Just look at all the terrible players drafted in the lottery-picks every year. Gordon Hayward was a lottery pick. I wouldn't have drafted him in the 2nd-round, even right after he played in the NCAA Tournament. That's the fault of the team, though, and is a different issue. The NBA draft system is designed to prevent tanking. I think it's a pretty great system.

Outside of the top 2 there is rarely an elite talent that can change a franchise. Some drafts are the exception (LeBron, Wade, Melo, etc) but most if you don't draft the Derrick Rose of the draft your franchise will continue flounder for years to come. The Bulls had less then a 2% chance of getting the first overall pick... and they go it and drafted D-Rose, that certainly changed there Franchise. Which team was the worse that Year? The Heat. If they drafted D-Rose with Wade, the current Super Team would never have happened (assuming D-Rose growth would be similar), and would have changed several franchises (maybe even the Knicks who in turn wouldn't be going after Melo)The NBA draft system is designed to prevent tanking. I think it's a pretty great system.

Just think, the Wizards had a 10% chance of getting the first pick overall and got John Wall, a great talent. This year they might get the first overall pick again, and if they get a Perry Jones or Jared Sullinger (both of whom I think are going to be great NBA talents) their Franchise could be set for the next decade.
To be fair, they've had alot of injuries.
They had an 8 man roster a few weeks ago. 8 People? Come on.
Not trying to defend them because I hate the Cavs, just telling the truth.
If they had one All-Star on their team, just one, they'd be ALOT better.
So who are they going to end the streak against? Any predictions?
Bikouchu35
Probably some team that should easliy beat them but for whatever ridiculous reason just couldnt pull it off.
I see that happen alot on the NBA. A good-great team goes up against a bad-decent team and for whatever bizarre force of nature they end up losing. Heck the Mavs almost lost to them today.
So if they lose 27 than that means they would claim the longest losing streak in any major sports I think..
Gilbert should refund every season ticket holder their cash for this mess of a team. Wow. This is beyond embarrassing. Its like the team is not even trying. I feel bad for Byron Scott. He knew the road would be tough with this team after James left but I know he didnt think it would be this bad. Hell I dont think ANYBODY knew the team would be this bad. The fans deserve better. Just goes to show how much James meant to this team.
Too bad, too. A NFL team REALLY shouldn't have the losing streak record. That should go to a team in a sport that plays more games. Like MLB, NBA, or NHL or something. I was hoping the Cavs would get it. lol
I saw the final few mins and overtime on NBA TV. Baron Davis should of taken a jumpshot at the end of regulation. They would of gone to overtime anywaybut it might of gone in.
Anyway, is there something mentally wrong with Cavs fans and those local anouncers? Thats a serious question. They were so happy and talking about the Cavs playing with passion. Then they put the on-screen graphic that said "Put away the record book".
This is not about supporting your team for better or worse. Dodging the longest losing streak overall all the major sports means nothing. They have the longest losing streak in NBA history. Thats just as bad.
Those people in Cleveland are pathetic losers. I mean that literally. Nothing against the players. They didnt seem to overreact. I feel bad for Mo Williams though. I always liked him when Lebron was there.

Well as a technicality I guess its not
Seriously though they have nothing to be happy about.

Yeah, it's not a record to be proud of, but having the worse losing streak in all of sports... that's in a different universe of terrible. This kind of reminds me of when the Dophins went like 1-15 and their sole win was against the Ravens. After the game they were jumping around like they won the SB.No_Hablo_InglesI bet the Bucs did that when they got their first win in franchise history.
Where was Blake Griffin at? Hes an all star caliber player he should have taken his team to victory!!!
Monta Ellis would not let his team lose to these garbage cavs.
