Because teams in the past have bombed seasons on purpose to get that #1 pick and as we saw with LBJ, a superstar player can turn a franchise upside down or right side up..........

Like LeBron said "Karma is a B**** and this is the karma on the Cavaliers Fans and the city of Cleveland. He should have the rights to "Take his talents to South Beach" because he gave them seven years and he was a free agent so he had the right to go anywhere that he wanted too. But back to the record they have no players and will always be one of the worst Sport franchises ever.

Good one. LeBron owes Cavs fans nothing, right?

Wanna know what's worse then tanking? The worse team in the NBA not getting the #1 overall pick and being forced to draft 3rd.

I don't think so.

Once you have no chance at the playoffs, as the Cavs obviously do not have, then it's OK to tank games. Getting a superstar player for the future is more important than winning meaningless games that no one will care about the next day.

Dream Matchup: (Assuming the Cavaliers are still losing by the 13th of February:) Wizards@Cavaliers. Cavaliers would have lost 27 straight at that point, and Washington has yet to win a road game (assuming they don't win one this week) Which streak gives? Unfortunately, this game will not be nationally televised, this is as good as it gets.

I want to see it too just cause it would be funny if the Wizards could at least win on the road at Cleveland. A team that knocked us out the playoffs so many times and to win there would be awesome. That's if the streaks for either team stays the same. :P

I suppose. I agree with the design of trying to prevent a team from tanking, but it can also really screw the worst team over. Who knows if the Cavs are tanking it right now, but we wouldn't be able to tell because of how bad most of the players they put on the court are. If they finish with the worst record and end up not having the #1 pick, it could really prolong their inability to be a good team. The NBA draft already always has some terrible talent and usually outside of the top 5, probably even less, a lot of the players only have potential and are a gamble. Just look at all the terrible players drafted in the lottery-picks every year. Gordon Hayward was a lottery pick. I wouldn't have drafted him in the 2nd-round, even right after he played in the NCAA Tournament. That's the fault of the team, though, and is a different issue.

Outside of the top 2 there is rarely an elite talent that can change a franchise. Some drafts are the exception (LeBron, Wade, Melo, etc) but most if you don't draft the Derrick Rose of the draft your franchise will continue flounder for years to come. The Bulls had less then a 2% chance of getting the first overall pick... and they go it and drafted D-Rose, that certainly changed there Franchise. Which team was the worse that Year? The Heat. If they drafted D-Rose with Wade, the current Super Team would never have happened (assuming D-Rose growth would be similar), and would have changed several franchises (maybe even the Knicks who in turn wouldn't be going after Melo)

Just think, the Wizards had a 10% chance of getting the first pick overall and got John Wall, a great talent. This year they might get the first overall pick again, and if they get a Perry Jones or Jared Sullinger (both of whom I think are going to be great NBA talents) their Franchise could be set for the next decade.

I think the draft lottery system is fair. It's only for the top 3 picks anyway. After the lottery uses those odds to determine the top three picks, the remaining teams are placed in order. So at worst, the worst team will have the 4th pick if they defy the odds and aren't selected in the lottery. Back in the 2008 Draft Lottery, the Bulls should have had the 9th pick. When it was revealed that Charlotte was the 9th pick, the Bulls knew they were somewhere in the top 3. They got lucky with their 1.7% chance and happened to get the #1 overall pick.

To be fair, they've had alot of injuries.

They had an 8 man roster a few weeks ago. 8 People? Come on.

Not trying to defend them because I hate the Cavs, just telling the truth.

If they had one All-Star on their team, just one, they'd be ALOT better.

Probably some team that should easliy beat them but for whatever ridiculous reason just couldnt pull it off.

I see that happen alot on the NBA. A good-great team goes up against a bad-decent team and for whatever bizarre force of nature they end up losing. Heck the Mavs almost lost to them today.

And? Boohoo the Cavs won't be a good team, nobody cares, there are other teams who haven't won anything, the Cavs themselves have been accused of being a team that tanked a season to get a #1 pick IIRC.

That Cavs/Wizards matchup on Feb. 13th should be a matchup of epic proportions.

At first I thought this streak was funny but now it's just getting kinda sad.

The Lottery breaks down into a few catagories when picking talent. 1. Star Player: The guy who can get it done on both ends of the floor and can change your franchise from the start. Maybe 1 to 2 of these guys a year. 2. The Role Player: The guys who won't be Tim Duncan or Kobe Bryant, but can be counted on to average 15 points and 7 rebounds. These are more abundant in the draft since most players are close to being maxed out on ability once they leave college. 3. The Bench Player: These guys usually do one to two things pretty well and are needed for that ability alone. Such as Defensive Stopper, Double Digit Rebounder, 3-Point threat, etc. They probably will never be a go to guy, but they do their job when called for. Matt Bonner, Prizbilla, Luke Walton. 4. The Wild Card!: These are the guys who wow everyone in college mostly around tournament time, and NBA teams think they see something that others might not so they take a chance on a player hoping that college success will translate into NBA stardom. Alot of times these players are let go within two years or less. Once in a while you get a Steve Nash, which most people didn't expect much from in the league.

Gilbert should refund every season ticket holder their cash for this mess of a team. Wow. This is beyond embarrassing. Its like the team is not even trying. I feel bad for Byron Scott. He knew the road would be tough with this team after James left but I know he didnt think it would be this bad. Hell I dont think ANYBODY knew the team would be this bad. The fans deserve better. Just goes to show how much James meant to this team.

Too bad, too. A NFL team REALLY shouldn't have the losing streak record. That should go to a team in a sport that plays more games. Like MLB, NBA, or NHL or something. I was hoping the Cavs would get it. lol

I saw the final few mins and overtime on NBA TV. Baron Davis should of taken a jumpshot at the end of regulation. They would of gone to overtime anywaybut it might of gone in.

Anyway, is there something mentally wrong with Cavs fans and those local anouncers? Thats a serious question. They were so happy and talking about the Cavs playing with passion. Then they put the on-screen graphic that said "Put away the record book".

This is not about supporting your team for better or worse. Dodging the longest losing streak overall all the major sports means nothing. They have the longest losing streak in NBA history. Thats just as bad.

Those people in Cleveland are pathetic losers. I mean that literally. Nothing against the players. They didnt seem to overreact. I feel bad for Mo Williams though. I always liked him when Lebron was there.

Where was Blake Griffin at? Hes an all star caliber player he should have taken his team to victory!!!

Monta Ellis would not let his team lose to these garbage cavs.
