Heard this on Mike and Mike. If this were to happen my goodness. I can see it happening with James going with the mindset of wanting to win a NBA Championship rather than earn tons of more money.

The cut in pay he would have to take would be way too much. Other players on the team would also have to take a cut just to get him within the salary cap.

And he's been wanting to go to New York. I think that's way more probable.

And I don't know if his ego and kobe's can exist at the same time.

I don't like the guy, but there's no denying his skill. Adding him would make the Lakers extremely deadly. Do I think it's likely? Not at all. LeBron has an ego, remember that. I don't know if he'd be willing to come to LA where Kobe is obviously number one. Plus, how do we pay the guy? It's a great scenario for fantasy but I don't think it happens.

There's as much a chance as me playing for the lakers next year. First we will start with Kobe. This guy has had to deal with the last 6 years (prior to last) hearing how he can't win the title as "the man". So now that he has proved it do you really think he wants to go through "shaq and kobe part 2". Now Lebron. He's the same way. Yeah he wants talent around him, but don't get it twisted he WANTS to be "the man". Don't tell me hes "naturally an unselfish player, bla bla", cause when it comes to leading a team i'm not buying it. Finally, and MOST IMPORTANT, the lakers JUST WON THE TITLE last year. They are extremely young aside from Fisher (kobe's played a lot of seasons but he's fine). They ADD Artest at the begining of the season, they have a young center, that IF HEALTHY, can be a top 5 center in the league. Who in their right mind would want to blow that up for one player. This is a perfect example of a writer trying to bring some needed attention to himself by saying something ridiculous

Yeah Bynum one day is going to be running the Lakers along with Pau. I don't want to get rid of the guy. I hope he's a Laker for life.

Pairty in the NBA is bad enough. If this happens, you can pencil in another 4 or 5 championships for the Lakers, and this sport will take the kind of nose dive they have been trying to avoid.

The NBA is dead to me, and LeBron/Kobe watch every night on ESPN will not help this.

They say its not about the money, but it is. If it wasn't James would join the Lakers or Celtics for the league minimum and win countless championships. Its not hard to be a team player on an Olympic team when everyone just wants a gold medal, but when you want to be known as the greatest basketball of all time I don't think he would be willing to play second fiddle to Kobe for the next 4-5 years. Would love to see it and they would win a lot, but I doubt it.

Yeah I agree it's a fantasy scenario and it's not likely to happen at all.

But evenif he goes to New Jersey/Brooklyn or NYC, he won't be in a better spot than he is right now. They'll have to spend countless zillions to rebuild those teams from the ground up.

He'll probably have to wait another 2-3 years like he had to in Cleveland to get a contender.

Seriously. Imagine if LeBron signed with the Clippers this summer. How would people react? I'm not dissing the Clippers or anything. They have some decent players in their line-up. I know they're not playoffs-bound, but still, Kaman is putting up great number this year and Baron Davis can still deliver big plays. That's about it though...

Not sure it will be enough to draw Laker fans... or we'll see how loyal these fans really are. This will be the Clippers best chance at anything ever in the NBA. He simply just needs to get them back 2 back playoff appearances for his time there to be a huge success. Oh Clipper Darrell will never shut his mouth.

If Lebron and Kobe were able to to play on the same time and put their ego's aside they would be literally unstoppable.

Nah this isn't baseball Kobe will get paid 24M in 2010-11 Lebron's more than likely gonna get more than that, Gasol get's over 15M, and Bynum get's in the ball park of that. That being said if it did happen that'd be a crazy ass team

The Lakers will win another four to five championships if this actually went through. However, in order for this to happen Lebron would have to take a huge paycut, or if he signs again with Cleveland, the Lakers can trade Bynum, Odom, and or Artest for Lebron. I really don't know if this will happen, I say it's about a 20% that we will be seeing Lebron in a Lakers uniform next season.

Nah he wouldn't take a huge paycut, to go the Lakers, and not that I blame him for that. If I had to take a single team to pick where I think he'd be i'd probably say Cavs, however if you were to ask me Cavs. vs the field (any other team), then i'd choose the field.

Portland would also be a good place eventhough it's not a huge market -

  • Miller- Bayless
  • Roy - Fernadez
  • Lebron
  • Aldridge
  • Oden

Why does it has to be LeBron? Why don't ALL the Lakers rewrite their contracts: Kobe and LeBron would make around 8 millions, others 5 millions(Artest, Gasol, Odom) and others around 1 or 2 millions.

lol... there will never be two huge super stars in the NBA on the same team unless they are a Guard and a Center. David Stern would never let it happen, since there isn't enough superstars in the league as it is.

Lebron and Kobe together? Impossible. Neither would get any credit for winning a title if this were true, and Lebron would have to take a back seat as becoming the second scorer behind Kobe which I don't think he would do.

You wont see Wade or Lebron together, Kobe or Lebron, Melo or Lebron etc.. etc..
