Means nothing
Mark Ingram was on the sidelines too
Lmao. Yeah, let's see how good a team like Florida would do without Tebow. Losing Mccoy was killer dude, they're whole offensive approach changed for the rest of the first half. It would almost be like taking Peyton Manning away from the Colts in the SB and expecting them to win.[QUOTE="Bobbles"][QUOTE="Jaysonguy"]
Texas has been a joke all season, I have no idea why they were in this game.
Yet another year where the BCS ruins a championship game
Good thing Mack got that extension before he was completely exposed

Yup, because Colt's awesome on D right?
As far as the gameplay changing it's the same exact thing. Spread the field, get the ball to the wideouts, and force them to blitz and then find the holes.
What game were you watching? Mostly every play they called after Colt got hurt was a run play, that's not their game. Yeah the defense played bad for a quarter, but that pick-six doesn't happen if Colt is playing. Did you see how many bad throws Gilbert made in the first half? He wasn't even close to being used to the game speed, and in the NCG? GTFO. Yeah, Texas sucks though they're down by 3 without their starting QB.they wanted to satisfy monkeytoes61.Why did they score again when all they had to do is kneel?

Sucks for Alabama kind of... not really a legit win because Texas didn't have McCoy. Considering Texas got that close to Alabama without him, with him I'm sure they had a good chance at beating them in the 4th.

they wanted to satisfy monkeytoes61. If they wanted to satisfy me, they could have played a game that didn't make me think a more fun alternative to watching would be pounding nails into my hand.Anyone else find it odd that a certain show set in Texas that had been both canceled and had one of its actresses die during the college football had a person who took his team to the championship, then got injured and lost because of it, and now we have the whole thing with McCoy...
My final thoughts.
We came out on fire and looked like we were fixing to put on a dominate performance. I think had Colt not gone down, we would have had at least 10 but more than likely 14 points rather than 6 from our first 2 series. This would have been the difference imo. We would have had all the momentum and Alabama would have been forced to take more chances throwing the ball playing from behind which obviously wasn't working because our D was killing the QB. Sergio Kindle was unstoppable.
Colt got hurt though so that is out the window. Bama did what they had to do to win with the circumstances of the game. They ran the ball and ran it some more. The only reason the run was working so well is because our D couldn't get off the field due to our O going 3 and out. A lot of it was our fault though with WR dropping balls and mental mistakes causing penalties. Our problem was that nobody stepped up to rally everyone around Gilbert to give him confidence. The WRs have to make those catches when you have freshman QB playing in the biggest game of the year. He needs all the help he can get, and we just didn't give it to him. It just sucks because our D was playing lights out and then ish hit the fan.
It's bittersweet though because Gilbert's performance bodes well for the future, and I feel like 8 out of 10 times we win that game with Colt. For a true freshman to come in and be able to put his team in position to win the game with 3 minutes left against the #1 pass defense is pretty astounding though. Considering how close the game was before the last few garbage TDs in the end, I think it says a lot about our team and a lot about Alabama. They are a good team, but if we were able to compete with them under those circumstances, I just wonder what it would have been like had we played our best game or even close to that with Colt behind center. Basically I am trying to say it nicely, but I think if Colt played we would have won that game by at least 2 TDs if not more. Bama would have had Utah flashbacks but what ifs never happen. It's truly a sad way to see such a great person/player like Colt go out like that.

In fact, people can laugh if they want, but honeslty Texas would beating Alabama if McCoy was in the game.....dominate Alabama run game? they've scored 17 points, I'll admit it was good in the first half. but that defensive td would not have happened if McCoy was in. Texas's defense has been impressive. I am not a texas fan. I thought Alabama would win, but not with this kind of performance.
True dat man McCoy had a spark for his team And if he was in Bama would have tooken a beatingMy final thoughts.

I agree dude...a true freshman needing to play in the bcs National title he really did perform well. This is the kind of stuff that makes you look ridiculous posting here. I read this whole thread and wow, you sir have no idea what you talk about.
The fact that you think McCoy hurt had absolutely no impact on Texas is proof that you really have no idea what you speak of.
