New England Patriots--First 16-0* season ever

I thought I'd take a cue from the Jaguars' website and include the asterisk. Apparently the website had the asterisk up for 4 months until it became newsworthy this week. I think it's hilarious, and it doesn't surprise me that Pats fan went crazy over it. The fact is they cheated and got caught, so is an asterisk appropriate?

*Patriots were caught cheating in one game, resulting in the largest punishment in NFL history.

Ugh.

I will vote for whatever category you want me to vote for. I can't argue with bitter, angry fans anymore.

I never, NEVER though I'd empathize with the Yankees fans that so hated us for years for doing what we did to them (hated them for being "winners.") Thanks to the recent success of my team coupled with the speed of the internet that has become a sobering reality for me, and I really do feel like an idiot for all the years I spent hating them for what I now know to be no good reason. Karma, I guess - and it has run full speed right into my face.

Anyway, yeah, sure. An asterisk. A giant star, a red blotch. The Pats didn't deserve any of it. They suck. They're overrated. BB is the Devil.

We really don't know what else to say. When we shrug off the hate we're arrogant. When we debate sensibly we're a-holes.

Something many other NFL teams and insiders know has been done for years.
Hell the Jets have videotaped other teams.

It it also widely known that the videotape made during the game would have in no way benefited the Patriots.

The Patriots were punished more for their arrogance then the actual act.

Chill dude. Read the article. The Jags guy did it as a joke when he first started doing the power rankings. Noone noticed it for four months. Now that Jags are playing the Pats, the media is making a big deal out of it so he removed it. It was just a joke.

If the Patriots were caught violating the rules mid season or even up to now, then your request for an (*) would hold some weight. You are talking about something that was done that had no bearing on the outcome of the 1st game of the season. If I was a billionaire, I would hate to have to pay a fine for half a million dollars. They were punished and they handled it.
