Guess who isn't going to have a job next season?
Seabas989
Didn't the Bengals have problems all season with field goals? Missing 2 in a playoff game will get you cut.
I don't pay too much attention to the AFC, but yeah that's not a good thing to happen. I'm pretty surprised at all the missed field goals this season, Seattle, Houston, Pittsburgh, and Cinci are teams that come to mind right off the top of my head. You would think these teams would have somthing like that fixed pretty fast, especially with players like Vinateri riding the bench. Teams that can't make field goals should probably think about spending a mid-round pick or a decent sleeper player for a good kicker.

Yeah it hasn't been a great year for kickers. You could add Dallas, New Orleans and Washington. It has been mostly when the game is the line where these kickers choke.
Well congratulations to the Jets. Guess I was wrong.
At the begining of the season they missed a bunch of field goals because the long snapper was horrible. He was released and now that the snaps are on target he has done a much better job but there little excuse for missing 2 easy FG's in a row. Also the kicker is a franchise player so he isnt going anywhere.Kurushio
How can you be a franchise player and miss kicks like that? That's the same thing I heard about the Steelers' kicker after he cost them those games during the middle of the season. Think about it, they would be in the playoffs if not for him, and the Bengals might very well be in the second round if not for their kicker. I dunno, maybe I've been spoiled with the kickers we've had in Chicago, and in fact our whole division has always been rock solid kicking, but it just doesn't seem to me like your position is 100% safe when you miss important kicks like that.
Once a Bungle always a Bungle.
Now I have to listen to ESPN talk about how the Jets are gonna go to the Superbowl for another week. Jets have no passing game whatsoever, and still the Bungles get beat.
ORLY? Sanchez played well enough to win. Also they dont need one, if their defense and running stand up all Sanchez has to do is not cost them a game. The Ravens didnt need a passing game to win and the jets may not either. Fact.[QUOTE="Fizzman"]ORLY? Sanchez played well enough to win. Let me clarify, Bungles are terrible, so bad that Mark Sanchez played great.

Sounds like Damage control to me. The Bengals D is actually rather good, the jets just played better,Nahh I dont even care about the AFC, but I just wasnt sure if he Bungles were for real this season, and well when you lose to a team that shouldnt even be in the playoffs. 2 wins against teams that shut it down, which is funny because the Bungles thought they had the right to give up a game, and that just bit them in the........

Sounds like Damage control to me. The Bengals D is actually rather good, the jets just played better,Bengals' pass rush was non-existent, they didn't generate turnovers like they usually do, and they got burned by the offensive schemes. Sanchez playing good didn't surprise me, he wasn't under pressure. What surprised me was the fact that he wasn't under pressure. I agree, though, that the Jets could probably win against the Colts and Chargers if they stick to that philosophy, especially if their line holds up against them. They're probably the best running team left in the AFC with the Ravens being the other candidate and their defense is solid, especially with Revis back there.

The Jets had the best defense in the league, if it wasnt for Sanchez they would have won their division. I am with you on one thing, I never thought the Bengals were for real. That passing game stunk all year, cost them today.[QUOTE="MoonMarvel"][QUOTE="Fizzman"]

Under pressure or not he didnt make mistakes and they limited his throws. I dont think this will continue, the colts and chargers are for real, the bengals are not. Sanchez may need to play well under pressure and make plays to win against those 2 teams, and I doubt he can. If the colts played their starters all game against the jets they would have beaten them and the Jets wouldnt even be here right now.[QUOTE="theone86"][QUOTE="MoonMarvel"]Sounds like Damage control to me. The Chargers, though, will need to rush Sanchez efficiently and beat Revis through the air. They don't have the run game or the run D that New York does, they're going to have to dominate the passing side of things.

He is actually very good. Before this game he had made like 16/17 FG's especially within the 40. Long range he isnt that great but not horrible. I think he is the most accurate kicker in the Begnals franchise history and one of the best still in the league. Today he just choked. Please Log In to post.
