Super homer pick, but whatever. Seahawks. Top ten defense, and a good running back with Marshawn Lynch. If they get a QB like Peyton Manning, they are contenders.
More realistically, the Packers will be back. No doubt about that.
Not going to say anything for real but
I would say the Patriots are more likely to return than the Giants.
Between the two Super Bowl teams?
Patriots easily. Who can really compete with them in the AFC East? And they're always dangerous once in the playoffs.
NFC East is a melee every year so you never really know who will win it from year to year.
As for the rest of the league I'd say the Niners have a good shot next year if they upgrade at WR.
A healthy(BIG IF) Peyton Manning is my pick. Whatever team lands on. Unless he becomes a Jet or a Redskin. In which case he's dead to me.

The QB situation can haunt them for years.
Alex Smith was a good game manager this year but he was bad in the NFC Championship game. He has to play better than that.

Smith did have some bad passes at the end, but what is up with the OC not running the ball? They were at 5.4 yards a carry and only ran the ball 28 times! When Smith threw a ball or two into the ground, you have got to run the ball some more especially since you're having your way most rushes. It will be interesting to see what happens in the offseason in regards to the QB position though as I'm sure that is still something they are going to look at even with Smith having nice numbers.
On topic:
The 49ers are in a great position since they are obviously gelling and showed they can hang with/beat the best teams in the league. I also think the Texans have a very good chance especially if Schaub can stay healthy. They probably would have been in the Super Bowl this year if they had had him.
It's the Lions year next season! Believe!Not-A-Stalker
Oh yeah. They need to sure up the secondary though.

He had nobody, except Vernon Davis, to throw to. If the receivers aren't getting open, drives cannot be sustained. They need to shore up that position through free agency, Josh Morgan has to stay healthy, and draft another wideout. Need to tighten up the secondary as well. Though much improved, they gave up too many big plays last year, not to mention so many 3rd & longs that the NY Giants exploited. It wasn't just on Alex Smith or Kyle Williams for that matter.[QUOTE="JML897"][QUOTE="Lostboy1224"]49ers. Its all coming together now. Just need to cut back on the fumbles.wornstar

While the WR position is one of need for the 49'ers, Alex Smith hit his ceiling this year. He has mediocre pocket presence, instead choosing to scramble at the slightest hint of pressure. This is a problem, since he is absolutely awful throwing on the run. The 49'ers, at some point, are going to need a true franchise QB if they want to win the Super Bowl. As for the original question, I'm going to be a homer and said the Chargers. While keeping Norv Turner might ensure another year of mediocrity, the truth is that unless we were willing to outbid for Jeff Fisher, we weren't going to upgrade the head coach position. So, we give him one more chance. I feel like if our new DC can fix the mess created by Greg Manusky this year, and RIvers can return to elite form, we might have a Super Bowl contender. Ryan Mathews is really starting to blossom, and with Tolbert most likely gone, he'll get the majority of the carries as he deserves.[QUOTE="deuce4eva"]No Hablo? ... >.> maybe in his wettest dreamWho cares the Eagles are going to win next year.

if the Giants can stay cohesive and not lose any players, no reason not to believe they can go back. However, the Packers, 49ers, Saints and Lions all showed me a lot this year, so any of them winning wouldn't surprise me. On the AFC...never can count Brady and the Pats out. Steelers are always good as are the Ravens. I think the Chargers and Broncos have a good shot too. I know, I just named a whole slew of teams :)
Also.... SuperBowl should stay on NBC. Better commentators, and the quality is much much better.
Major_Snake
Yeah I'm neutral with the NBC commentators. On CBS Phil Simms drives me crazy and then there are the two morons on Fox. I don't like ABC's MNF crew either.
When Fox gets it I wish the B-team of Kenny Albert and Daryl Johnston did the Super Bowl. I like them. (Gus Johnson would be my #1 pick but he's always relegated to bad games)

Well at least his avy and sig stay the same all year.
My avy has only changed when I lost a bet... and why is keeping their sig the same that long a good thing worth mentioning.[QUOTE="JML897"]

Well yeah. ABC/ESPN are owned by the same people so when ABC gets the Super Bowl they use the MNF crew

I'm pretty sure ABC doesn't get a SB anymore. They cycle between NBC, CBS and FOX.[QUOTE="theone86"][QUOTE="No_Hablo_Ingles"] ... >.> maybe in his wettest dreamNo_Hablo_Ingles

The teams that are expected to do well usually are the ones who flop. Like the Eagles did....and like the Cowboys do almost every year. -.- Chargers too I guess.
What do you think of the Titans. Here's how well they did this year.
http://www.nfl.com/playoffs/playoff-picture
Packers, Saints, and Patriots are yearly contenders. Steelers too I suppose. That being said, I'll have the Saints going to the Superbowl, but I feel the Eagles finally getting it to together. Don't see the Patriots going unless we get a solid defense. Not to worried about the run game, Ridley is going to be a future star. I'm iffy on the Steelers, they are still aging. So that being said I will say the Saints vs. Texans. The dark horses are the Raiders and Bears.

I thought they overachieved this year, I was surprised every time I looked at their record and saw that they were over .500. Outside of Hasselbeck, Locker, CJ2YPC, and Kenny Britt (who was hurt) I'm not sure I could name anyone else on the Titans.
OK, I am going to put my balls in a vice and say the Eagles (bias) vs Texans will be next years SB. I think, as long as the current Eagles squad stays together (Evan Mathis, this years best LG, and DeSean are the only starters who need a new contract) everything will be fine. As terrible as the Eagles were this year, if they win just ONE of the 6 games they had a lead going into the 4th Q. and they are in the playoffs, not the Giants. If they lose D-Jax, I want Vincent Jackson or Dwayne Bowe as a replacement. I want Evan Mathis to stay though. Him and Jason Peters made undoubtedly the best left side of the offensive line in the NFL. I am curious about the Defense, but we finished pretty well. Texans seem to be a very good team. Above average QB, the best RB imo, a top 3 WR (Calvin and Larry are better IMO), and a great defense.No_Hablo_Ingles
