I'm scared to predict that. If the Bears make two big moves in one offseason, the world may explode.

Turn to Arizonas Boldin perhaps? Anyhow, still the favorites in the NFC East. Not like Plax was a big difference maker for the Giants with his 35 catches in 10 games. Good they got rid of him rather than be a Team Obliterator and ruin the team for years.

Plaxico will probably have to serve some jail time before anyone calls him.

Yeah that seems likely. I see why the Giants released him; he is talented, but is a distraction to the rest of the team. And he is more than likely going to serve jail time, he did commit a felony after all.

So Torry Holt, Terrel Owens, Marvin Harrison, Plaxico Burress, and TJ Houshmanzadeh ALL will be on a different team in 2009 than in 2009. Craziest offseason for WRs in a LONG time.

It's not even the jail-time he'll be serving that teams will need to worry about. I'm sure Sheriff Goodell will drop the hammer on Plaxico once his punishment handed down from the courts has been completed.

Randy Moss was talented, but a distraction to the Raiders... and we all know how he worked out with the Patriots. This could be the best move for both the Giants and the team that picks Burress up.

I'm a little confused, most forums here talk about how the bears or other teams should pursue him. But hes probably going to be in jail next season. His crime has a minimun of 3 and a half years sentence. On NFL.com they mentioned the prosecutors want jail time in his plea bargain. Realistically he may not be on a team next year.....

If convicted. And the prosecuters may not get that, in fact I think he shouldn't get 1 DAY of jail time.

Eli actually had a really good game against Carolina. And not to make an excuse for Eli, but when Plax went down, NOBODY, not Hixon, Smith, Manningham, Toomer, etc, stepped up to try and take that number 1 spot. Hell, Hixon dropped quite a few deep passes The biggest issues when Plax shot himself was A) He drew double coverage opening up the offense, B) The Giants lost their Red Zone threat. He could catch those deep fades and jump balls. When Plax was on, not many corners could shut him down.

Not to mention, the Giants DID NOT adjust after the incident. They kept the offensive system the way it was and tried to use Hixon in the same way they used Burress. Hixon is good, but lets face it, he's no Plaxico Burress.

Burress had a HUGE impact. Stats can be very decieving, because they theres no stat for production away from the ball. Plax drew double coverage, which opened up the Run Game and other receivers. Losing Plax is brutal, but they'll find a way to get another reciever and win.

Well, Moss didn't have a pending felony charge over his head when the Pats got him. Nor do most teams have a guy like Bill Belicheck who have a talent for straightening players out. If he can get past this charge against him, maybe he can help some team out, but until then, it's al up in the air.

I still think Eli is just about average at best, but you are right about the WRs. They were all terrible after Plax went out. Eli will struggle, as will the WR's unless one of them steps up. I don't see it happening cuz none of those guys are number 1's or maybe even 2s.

Oh I agree about Eli. I'm a big fan of his, but lets face it, he's not a statistical Quarterback, which is fine, because the stats of his thats really impressive is 4th Quarter Comebacks and Wins. He needs a tall athletic reciever to cover his inaccuracies. Which is not a complete dig, because no QB is perfect, but a guy like Burress is someone that can help get the other recievers open, as well as get those jump balls in the End Zone. I've been hearing talk of the Giants going after Braylon Edwards. He's younger than Plax, not as crazy and very athletic. He has a problem with dropped passes last year, but hey, if Coach Coughlin can get Tiki Barber to stop fumbling, he can get Edwards to hold onto the ball.
