HAHA! I always knew Oakland was a good team and only needed a QB who could play, Jamarcus is the problem.

I believe that the Bronocos really were pretenders after that 6-0 start.

I will say that the Broncos aren't as good as the 6-0 start would have you think, but I do think they are a good team. I was really against them when they were 6-0 and everybody was throwing out huge love to them, but they haven't really been slaughtered and the Raiders are a much better team when they have a QB who doesn't choke. It will be interesting to see how the Broncos do next year. I think that will be a more telling year.

For the Raiders to, get a good QB in there and they are a playoff team.

Sweet vindication!

As much as I like it, though, it does give me a fifth loss for picks. Damn Cleveland.

Ya know, I've been saying this for the whole season. If the Raiders had an OK QB, they'd be a winning team. Instead, they for whatever reason stuck with that fat, chump imitating a QB and it's another losing season.

It was the right thing to do, at least now they know what they have in him. What they should have done is start him over Jeff Garcia. I don't get why all these teams go with older, OK QB's they know they're not going to keep over young ones. You start him, you give him a chance, you evaluate him, and if they had doen it all last season they could have figured out they didn't want him starting and moved on to the next QB way earlier in the season.

The problem with the Raiders is one week they pull an upset and the next they get destroyed. Sure they have been impressive against some teams like the Broncos, Steelers and the Eagles. However, they don't show up at all the next week. (Redskins put up 33 points against the Raiders).

Yea, they blow off actually preparing against crappy teams. If they played like they did against Philly, they could be scary.

I dont really like Frisco because of the politics of the city. Happy to a degree the 9ers are moving to Santa Clara but keeping the SF name.

Well, there are plenty of examples of QB's doing a lot of that early before coming out of it. Vince Young, Brett Favre, Troy Aikman, Kurt Warner, Brady Quinn, Ben Roethlisberger, etc. I don't begrusge them for giving him a decent amount of time, I begrudge them for not doing it sooner, although I guess their season was pretty much over fairly quickly whereas before they were trying to stay in contention with Garcia.

This is his third year though, and he got worse over the years. Much worse. I don't see one redeeming factor with him, imo they stayed with him too long. And those QBs had no where near the bad numbers Russell has.

Brett Favre had horrible numbers in Atlanta. Also, it was only Russel's second year starting. In three years he's started 25 games, that a lot less time to prove yourself than most QB's get. Although I've pretty much given up on Russel, I wouldn't be surprised to see another team take one more shot at him for that very reason. And his numbers aren't really that horrible. 2008-2,400 passing yards, 53% completions, 13 TD's, 8 INT's. He's a lot worse this year. I will say that his fumble numbers are a lot higher than they should be, but other than that nothing really stands out as being tremendously bad or tremendously good, and there are a few teams where he might be an improvement at QB, at least given his 08 numbers. Should teh Raiders give up on him? Yeah, I think so, but with all the older QB's who are going to be retiring soon and teams who are looking for a QB I wouldn't be surprised to see someone take another chance on him. He can be a starter in this league if he returns to form, it's just a matter of getting him there. Maybe that takes the right QB coach, or maybe it doesn't happen at all, but he has the potential.

He had almost a full year just to watch and learn. he came in and was subpar. 53% completion isn't good. His pocket presence is among the worse I've ever seen and he has problems, literally has problems hitting backs going out on screen or curls. It's that bad. It doesn't really matter anymore since he is a no issue, but I still feel they stayed too long with him. Put in someone else and they are in any game. That was proved this year.

If I was another team I'd take one shot at him too, he's going to come at a very, very cheap price tag. Nothing really to lose. But as it is now, he could not start on any team in the league.

Bills, Rams, Niners, Panthers, four teams he could start for. I'm not saying 53% is great, I'm saying it's not atrocious. And the biggest point I think you're missing is that he's young. Everyone was jumping on VY as not being a starting QB and he's done great recently. Fact is that 25 games is not a lot of time for a QB to develop in the NFL,look at Mark Sanchez, he's started14 games and he's alreadythrown more INTs than Russel did last year. Put him under the right QB coach and he could prove to be a good starter.

I agree with almost everything you said except Vince Young did have a great rookie season and did take his team to the playoffs. Jemarcus looks like a good back up Qb but I can't see him as a starter unless a team is very desperate (injuries).

I think you just don't understand how awful he is (as I'm speaking Giants just intercepted Scrub Campbell again). He is technically one of the wost QBs ever. He's up there with Grossman and Ryan Leaf. None of those teams you listed have a QB worse than that.
