They're not terrible...they've got a good core. They can hit the ball, with Ryan Zimmerman, Adam Dunn, Josh Willingham, and others. Their pitching is bad, but they have Strasburg and Livan Hernandez to build around, and Tyler Clippard and Matt Capps have been good in the pen.

Yeah they have good hitters. They just didn't step up this game compared to how good Strasburg was pitching.
Yeah, I do. I hope he gets taken out of the ballpark with back to back jacks. I am so sick of hearing about this kid. I understand he's good, I think he has great potential. In all honesty, every single time I watch a baseball game (it doesn't matter who's playing) I'd rather not hear about how amazing he is. He even has his own commercial already, not even having 10 major league starts yet. I'm glad he didn't make the All-Star team, I think they should make a rule that only players should be eligible after completing at least one entire season (disregarding injuries). He's so fresh the hitters haven't even gotten the chance to play him in more than one game and adjust to his pitching. Seeing him get knocked around for 7 runs would make my day, just to see that cocky smirk wiped off his face. There are 30 ballclubs, and many established veterans. I really would like to hear about them instead of Strasburg every time I turn to ESPN. Hopefully we can all pray they finally stop talking about him when the postseason comes and the Nationals are still in last place, enjoying their off season. That is of course, they don't start pitching him everyday...and name another city after him. (I mean really...) You don't see any cities or even streets named after Nolan Ryan or Randy Johnson?
Here's the thing. YOU may not want to hear about Strasburg, but tons of people do. That's why ESPN talks about him. It's the same reason you always see and hear about the Yankees and Red Sox. They get the best ratings.
