Usually I love it when teams go for it on fourth down. Seriously, if coaches want to "play the percentages" they would go for it on fourth and one/fourth and inches, where teams succeed more than 3 out of four times.

But that deep in your own territory is a bit dicey.

Lmao I saw what you guys were writing about how "Teh Pats are back!!" and I saw the score late in the 4th and I figured "aww man I can't believed the Colts' perfect season was soiled by frggin' Tom Brady's Patriots...". I'm making a sandwich and it's midnight and I flip on ESPN and see Peyton Manning up in a press conference. He looks around with a grimace on his face and sighs. I see below the final score was Colts 35-34. I read that about three times and rubbed my eyes. Wow!

More so since its proving me right. 1 tight loss when the Pats played rather well more so for Brady and people are digging their graves. Seriously people need to stop.

Well I don't think most of the guys on here are ragging on the Pats or saying they are bad. They were just wondering why you hadn't said anything. The Pats are a solid team and will be for some time. That game was crazy and could have easily gone the other way. It will be cool to see them play each other again in the playoffs.

Well, between missing the playoffs last season and losing close games this season I will say that the Pats have lost a step or two. That still makes them an awesome season seeing as how they were coming down from five straight playoff appearances, three Superbowl apperances, two Superbowl wins, and the two longest regular-season winning streaks in NFL history. Still, teams change over time, they're not the same team that they were a few years ago.

I lol'd at the wikipedia article for the Pats by the way. I won't post the link because it might be fixed by the time it's viewed, but here's an excerpt:

"The Patriots, however, were defeated by the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLII, after winning the first 18 games of their 2007 season. Under quarterback Tom Brady and moderately stupid head coach Bill Belichick,"

Hooray for Wiki-vandalism!

Pardon? The only reason they missed the playoffs last year was because Brady got hurt. He plays they win their division, something they almost did without him.

They've lost three games this season and all of them the result of them getting passed on. Their defense simply isn't the same caliber as it was before a lot of their stars started retiring. I'm not saying that makes them bad, I'm just saying they're not the same team that won 21 straight, that team would have been able to win all three of those games. And Cassel played well enough to get them into the playoffs, they didn't get in as a team. If you're only successful (relatively in this case) when a certain player is on the field that says more about your team than it does about that one player. If you're saying Patriots are an average to slightly above average team without Brady but a Superbowl contender with him that just proves my point, the team that won 21 stragith could have won a Superbowl with Matt Cassel under center, their defense and running game dominated that year as well.

I hate the Pats as much as anybody but they dominated that game (for 57 minutes) and proved they are the better team in my eyes. And if Faulk didn't bobble the catch on 4th down we would be hearing what a genius Bill is and that more teams should go for it on 4th down.

More teams should go for it on fourth down. Punting is overrated.

And if the Pats were the better team, they would have won the game. You can't disregard the final score.

Poor use of the phrase. Nice try but not close in any stretch of the meaning. You are also wrong on both accounts as plenty have attacked the Pats here and have cheered simple loses. Might wanna check up on the Jets there.

More like overrated. Cincy is the poster child of the underrated. Beat the champs twice, 7-2 leading the divison and undefeated on the road and still get little respect.

Beat Ravens twice too. If it wasn't for the crazy Bronco play, they'd only have one loss.

I dislike Tom Brady and all things Boston, but I gotta say, anyone who thinks the Patriots are "done" is fooling themselves. I went to bed at half because I thought this game was over and when I checked espn.com the next morning I nearly pissed myself. The Colts are amazing as are the Pats. Brady is no choke job (how can a man with three rings be a choke job :? ). Idk what caused them to lose this game (other than Bill's call to go for it on 4th Down), but I have little doubt that a Colts vs Pats AFC title game would be INSANELY close. Bengals, Colts, Pats. Those are the teams I'm watching outta the AFC. Everyone else looks meh imo, especially the Steelers (though they did beat Farve, which is ALWAYS a plus).

Really? Because before this Colts game I could of sworn they were in the top 5 in all of the NFL with points allowed. If anything this Defense has surprised the hell out of me I thought they would have been a lot worse then what they are.
