tony hawks games VS skate?

im gonna go with tony hawks wight now because i havnt played any of the skate games.

which one would you buy without hesitation?

to be fair, i might have enjoyed pro skater more at the time (i was 13) than skate, but i can't go back to it after playing skate. i enjoy a single combo with a rail in skate more than i ever enjoyed a ridiculously long million point combo in tony hawk.

SSX3 is still my favorite extreme sports game of all time though.

I was pro Tony Hawk and didnt even think about picking skate 1 up. Then i did and it was over hands down blows tony hawk away

The Skate series destroys Tony Hawks games. Now, don't get me wrong, TH games are fun in their own way, but they don't even come close to how good Skate is.

intresting. Im a TH dude, ever since the 1st TH game, all the way until American Wasteland. Have yet to try a Skate game, and seeing the recent downfall of te TH series, i think id like to try one.

Skate pretty much blows the Tony Hawk series away, IMO. After Underground 2, the TH series went downhill and the Skate series is the better choice.

ive skatboarded for 9 years and i still like the first 3 tony hawk games (after TH3, i dont really care for the other TH games) more than skate, ive only played the first skate though...i feel the more realistic a skateboarding game is the less point there is to playing it over actually going outside and doing it. skate is more fresh hasn't been around that long it has that going for it, but TH's time has come they should just stop making games, after 3 they all feel the same to me.

I think TH2 was the best tony hawk out of all of them. Had a bunch of new stuff that TH1 didnt have, and it just came together perfectly. Idk what Skate is the best, cuz i havent played em, lol

Yeah, it's not like there is really a story or anything. You could pick up Skate or Skate 2 right now on the cheap to get a taste of what Skate 3 is all about. I'd personally go with Skate 2 and play that until Skate 3 comes out, but they are both awesome games.

thnx dude that helps alot,i agree with most of your comments about what happened with TH games,but i think the people behind TH games should atleast act smart and comeup with a new different original kinda game that way they are gonna move up hopefully in the mean time i think ill stick with skate games too,i should buy the skate2 and see what happens

Skate 1 absoulutely sucked but Skate 2 was a great since they eliminated some of the worst problems that brought Skate 1 down. You couldn't get off your board, change the camera angle or the music.

But my vote would have to go to Tony Hawk, Project 8 wasn't a very good game, but Proving Grounds was fantastic. I haven't tried Ride, but I was never interested in that one, it doesn't look very good. They need to go back to Tony Hawk's Underground and make a game like that again because that's one of the best games of all time.

I think since the originals, the TH games have went down in quality slightly. That is, until ride, which brought it down a whole lot. But that one dosent count :P
