I wanted to post this since Sunday but forgot. Anyway on Sunday, Shannon Sharpe said this about Romo : You shipped out T.O. who had over a 100 touchdowns in this decade alone, so Tony Romo and Roy Williams can bloom. I don't see any flowers growing in Dallas. I don't think it's a very good football team. And Tony Romo, let me say this one time and one time only, he is a slightly above average quarterback, at best.

Romo has great physical ability and moxie, but the guy is getting by on pure ability. he needs to refine his game.

He has some talent, but his decision making as well as playing under pressure makes him very weak as a starting QB.

Lay off Romo. His courageous rally over a winless team in OT has restored Cowboys pride.

I think at least 20 teams would probablylove to have him as their starter over the guy they have. I don't get all the Romo hate (I don't even like the cowboys). If my team didn't already have Big Ben , I'd love to have him as a replacement. Big Benhas had off days in big games before , stuff happens.

This guy said Big Ben has off days.. Difference between Big Ben and Romo.. Ben makes plays in clutch times of the season. Something Romo has NEVER done.

Romo is not a winner plain and simple.. For the past few seasons he has had plenty of talent to get the job done, cant do it.

I actually agree with Shannon. I really dont see why Romo gets all the attention he does. He has done nothing in his career to show that he is an above average qb. Jerry Jones is an idiot,Wade has no back bone, and the team is an average one with just a few good players sprinkled about. If the Cowboys nosedive this year, expect Romo to get shipped,Wade fired, and Jones to start over from scratch.

When I saw a local preseason broadcast of a Cowboys game, the announcers said that aside from Manning and Brady, Romo was the best QB in the NFL.:| O felt like screaming "What about Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco?" I guess that's what you get for watching local broadcasts.

I'm a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, so I'm just goingto throw that out. Tony Romo I like as QB. I think that he has a lot of talent and he needs to improve on his decision making. I also believe that some of the games that the Cowboys have played this year have tried to handcuff Romo and take away what he is good at. He is not a pocket QB, although he has shown he can release the ball fairly quickly, that is just not his game. He has always been a QB that makes plays, he runs out of the pocket and can make something out of nothing. He gets a lot of scrutiny because of who he plays for and expectations are always going to be high.

The problem he has is that he is always trying to make plays, is it a good thing? Bad thing? It depends on how you look at it. Ifhe makes those plays that you didn't think were even possible then he is a great QB, if he doesn't then people call him Danny White and that he has no talent and so forth. He has to fix his decision making on when it is time to make something out of nothing and when it is not. If he did that then he wouldn't be so scutinized, but because he has not fixed that he is considered an average QB. If he wasn't on the Cowboys and on another team he wouldn't be the punching bag that he is on a daily basis.

Now not everyone watches the Cowboys if anything I would have to say 90% of the people who bash him only watch highlights and only see the end result not what led up to it. The Cowboys are a talented team on paper, but that doesn't guarantee you wins. The Cowboys with the players they have should be better, but they are not because they are a middle of the pack team. The Cowboys have problems with coaching, problems with penalties, and can not close out games. With that being said IMHO I believe Romo gets bashed way too much and some of the decisions I believe he makes are terrible, I'm not going to deny that. BUT if you actually watch the games I don't think I have ever seen a QB put is such terrible positions in the NFL then he has. If you watch them, the Cowboys on a regular basis always always make drive killing penalties, which now instead of being first down or 3rd and short. You are now looking at 3rd and 15 or 4th down and having to punt. Not only that but having toput Romo in a position where he has no choice but to makea play that is where a lot of his INTs and fumbles come from. In my mind he has the talent to be one of the best, but unfortunately he is inconsistent and to be successful you have to be consistent and you can't have a team that is giving up 80-100 yards in penalties. I think he is above average with his talent alone and his numbers show that he is above average.

He gets the attention he does because he is a Cowboy and because since he has become their starter they have been a competative team. He has also been their best, most consistent QB since Aikman has left. Not too mention he is undrafted and to be honest that has to show for something.

I think the problem is that people put Romo with P. Manning and Tom Brady when Romo hasn't shown up at all in the most crucial games. We all know he can scramble and make plays during the regular season. However he hasn't shown that he is a clutch Qb in the most important games. In all, I think that Romo is finally getting bashed more now that T.O., the scapegoat, isn't in that team anymore. T.O. wasn't the only problem the Cowboys had last season.

I will admit that in December games he has been awful, I dont know what it is, but he just isn't the same QB. He goes from being the best to the worst in the span of 4 games. But to be fair he hasn't been terrible in the playoffs. In fact he has had his team in postion to win thoses games, but they come up short. I know this is really disecting a game, but back in 07 agianst the Giants, if Patrick Crayton catches that 3rd down pass instead of looking up field before he had possesion, they win the game. Obviously if he just held the snap correctly in Seattle they probably win considering how time was left, but overall he has to be better if they want to win because the past and present shows that when he plays well they win, when he has a bad game they lose.

Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Brett Favre, Donovan McNabb, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Schaub, Kurt Warner, Joe Flacco, Carson Palmer, Ben Roethlisberger, Phillip Rivers, Matt Ryan, Kyle Orton, Matt Hasselbeck, Jay Cutler, Mark Sanchez, and Matt Cassel. Those are 18 starting quarterbacks I would take over Tony Romo. That means perhaps 12 other teams would like Romo.

So I guess everyone who thought Peyton Manning was a great QB before he won a playoff game in his first 6 years are stupid? :| If he wasn't the Cowboys QB he would not be getting the heat he gets, plain and simple.

What has Aaron Rogers, Matt Schaub, Joe Flacco, Carson Palmer, Matt Ryan, Kyle Orton, Jay Cutler, Mark Sanchez, Matt Cassel, or even Drew Brees done to make them better then Romo, not even better but for you to take them over Romo? Out of that whole list I just mentioned two QB's out of the ten won one playoff game each. Mark Sanchez? Really? :| Out of the 18 you mention 10 have not even been to a superbowl nevermind a playoff win, 2 out of the 10 won one each. So really 10 of those QB's are in the same seat as Romo. Brees is good and everyone is always sweatin him, but besides putting up good stats, which Romo has done for the almost 3 years he has been starter, what has he done? Win one playoff game? WOW! That makes him soooo much better. What a joke.

Yeah I'd say he's above average with some serious question marks about his big game performance. That shouldn't be a big surprise to a lot of NFL watchers.

Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Brett Favre, Donovan McNabb, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Schaub, Kurt Warner, Joe Flacco, Carson Palmer, Ben Roethlisberger, Phillip Rivers, Matt Ryan, Kyle Orton, Matt Hasselbeck, Jay Cutler, Mark Sanchez, and Matt Cassel. Those are 18 starting quarterbacks I would take over Tony Romo. That means perhaps 12 other teams would like Romo.

Joe Flacco won 2 playoff games on the road as a rookie, especially against a very tough Tennesee defense last year. Drew Brees took the Saints to the NFC chapionship without a good defense. Not to metion that almost all those QB's except Marck Sanchez and Matt Cassel have been more impressive then Romo o far this season. We'll see how he does against the Falcons.

With Romo as their starter they are 30-15, before he was starter they were 40-59 and that includes the last year Aikman played.

He just hasn't won the big game, yet... Slightly Above average =/= 21-29, 311 yards, 3 TDs against a playoff contender. Oh, and how bout those Cowboys? :)

he has talent and natural ability. HE just doesn't show up in big games. I would argue that he might be a good top 10 QB though,

Sheesh anyone pay any attention to his stats? He's only in his 3rd year as a starter, wow. Plus he missed a month last year. Kinda hard to judge someone on what seen so far, this is a work in progress, who cares what shannon sharpe has to say, he's lucky he played on 2 good football teams. Look how long it took ELWAY to win the big one, lol.

Wow, some of you people on here never cease to amaze me. I am LMAO right now becuase someone just deleted their post today after trash talking last week. And since I know that person will be reading this thread I am ready with the answer to his/her comment even though they deleted it. LOL For those who don't know, my above quote was commented on by another user. He said something like 'we'll see what happens next week'... Well "next week" is today and his stats against the Seahawks are as followed: 21-36, 256 yards, 3 touchdowns. But the most important statistic is the W in the win coloumn. LOL Can the TC please tell me what Mr. Sharpe has to say about Romo now? Or anybody, for that matter, that watches his pre/postgame shows (I prefer fox or nfl network). *patiently waits for an Eagles fan to make a comment about Romo or what's gonna happen on November 8 in Philly*
