Tony Romo :...is a slightly above average quarterback, at best.

Sheesh anyone pay any attention to his stats? He's only in his 3rd year as a starter, wow. Plus he missed a month last year. Kinda hard to judge someone on what seen so far, this is a work in progress, who cares what shannon sharpe has to say, he's lucky he played on 2 good football teams. Look how long it took ELWAY to win the big one, lol.

He's fine as a QB, people need to point the finger at Wade Phillips, he's a buffon.

Congratulations Tony Romo and the Cowboys, you have beaten a total of one NFL team above .500. Superbowl champs 2010.

If you want to go that way, you can add the Giants, Egals, Colts, and Texans to that list. They've played their schedule and they're 5-2, just like those four teams that have winning records against the garbage teams.

Yeah, I dunno if I'd be mentioning Elway when talking about Romo. However, I can see what he's saying here. Elway lost his first two playoff games and had a TD-INT ratio of 2-3 in those games. It wasn't until his 4th year playing QB that he won a playoff game and took his team to the SB. Four years is actually not that long, but people seem to be trashing Romo and labeling him a choker after two & half years(3 years if you count the 7 games this year) of starting. He' only played(and lost) two playoff games. I think we should reserve judgment until he plays a few more years. Elway got similar treatment early on in his career.

He can't win the big game

He just hasn't won the big game, yet... Slightly Above average =/= 21-29, 311 yards, 3 TDs against a playoff contender. Oh, and how bout those Cowboys? :)

Wow, some of you people on here never cease to amaze me. I am LMAO right now becuase someone just deleted their post today after trash talking last week. And since I know that person will be reading this thread I am ready with the answer to his/her comment even though they deleted it. LOL For those who don't know, my above quote was commented on by another user. He said something like 'we'll see what happens next week'... Well "next week" is today and his stats against the Seahawks are as followed: 21-36, 256 yards, 3 touchdowns. But the most important statistic is the W in the win coloumn. LOL Can the TC please tell me what Mr. Sharpe has to say about Romo now? Or anybody, for that matter, that watches his pre/postgame shows (I prefer fox or nfl network). *patiently waits for an Eagles fan to make a comment about Romo or what's gonna happen on November 8 in Philly*

wow :| I deleted that post because I didnt want to double post... Seriously.. :| It wasnt talking down on Romo or "trash talking" as I placed a friendly smiley to hint that...

Okay, if you say so. I thought it was "trash talk" just like some of the other posts on this thread. Just look MarcusAntonious and Fizzman's posts, they came on this thread and didn't even add anything serious to the discussion. They came on here just to bash Romo and/or the Cowboys. Neither gave a clearly stated opinion of Romo or Shannon Sharpes words regarding Romo. Neither clearly stated why they thought Romo is or isn't "slightly above average". Maybe I overreacted and I apologize to you for that, but as you can see from the other two users posts, "trash talk" like that happens. But us Cowboys fans are used to it. Thats the kind of treatment you get when people get sick of seeing you win (Yankees fans can relate, you either love them or hate them). Or seeing you at all. But with that said, I hope you all enjoy seeing my 'Boys during this holiday season, as you do each and every year :)

Sorry, I should've been more specific. I was really talking about Thankssgiving andChristmas.Typically, you will always see either the Lions, Packers, Bears or Cowboys playing in one of those Thanksgiving Day games. Although, Christmas it can vary. But I guarantee you one of those 4 teams are always playing on Thanksgiving day. I can't recall the last time one of those 4 teams wasn't playing on either thanksgiving or christmas, someone pleasecorrect me if i'm wrong....

Earlier in the season a kid at my school made fun of the Cowboys because the only teams they beat were the Bucs, Panthers, and Chiefs. He's an Eagles fan, and he ended up looking like an idiot because those were the same teams the Eagles beat. He's not the brightest person I know.

Depends on what you consider average. I think a top 15 QB is pretty good. No one claimed he was Tom Brady, did they?

LOL, if someone tries to make that comparison, 2007 would be the worst year to do it. Now your going to say people compared Daunte Culpepper to Payton Manning in 2004.

I don't remember anyone saying he was as good as Tom Brady. I remember them saying he was one of the Top 3 QBs that year along with Brady and Favre. He's still a good QB and yes he still has much to prove if he wants to be considered great.

Umm... I'm pretty sure he was compared to his favorite QB... Brett Favre. His game is nothing like Tom Brady's.

The Favre comparison was about playing style, but I'm referring to QB status for lack of a better word. He was being put in that elite category, and keep in mind that matchup was still in the first half of the season (week 6), before all the undefeated type talk. Since this was supposedly thought as the likely super bowl match up, Romo was hyped like hell, or did that loss make you all forget? Head to head comparisons were made right up until that game. Granted I don't recall anyone saying he was better, but he was being thrown around as the up and coming #3 QB at the time.

Well with all of that being said doesn't that always happen with any player that is having a good season? He did end up with 36 touchdowns that season along with 4200 hundred yards just after a year in half of being a starter. Considering what he did in 10 games the year before I would also consider him a top tier QB in the league as well. I mean with what he did in such a short span I think you could say he is the up and coming # 3 QB at the time, I mean is it that outragious?

I don't think it blew up. I think a lot of people still consider him a great QB, I don't think he is great yet because you have to treat him like every other QB in the league, and that is you are usually determined on how good you are by how many playoff games you win as well as superbowls. I think he still has a lot to learn considering he has just been a starter since halfway through the '06 season. Once again with the stats he has put up in the past 3 seasons how can ignore what he has done and not consider him being a top QB in this league? Also you keep bringing up the loss to the Pats, after that game they didn't lose until they met the Eagles in December. That was 2 months after that game. Last year he missed 3 games due to injury. He still put up good numbers in 13 games. He is no Tom Brady or Peyton Manning. He has the talent to take this team far. They just haven't done it yet, you do realize there are 52 other guys on the Cowboys right?

That's great you feel that way, and I'm too pissed off right now to form a rebuttal for the sake of it. I'll just say this, he was hyped to hell that year, and has fell off since. Can he still be a great QB one day? Yes, he can, but show me, don't tell me.

Agreed. Cowboys fans really have to stop overhyping Romo when he hasn't shown it. He needs to prove himself that he is a playoff win Qb and not a regular season winning Qb.

I don't know very many Cowboys fans over hyping Romo. It was more the media giving him the attention. I've never compared him to Brady or Manning and I probably never will. I still think he's a good QB with the potential to be great.
