Nothing against Jerry West but the logo should either be generic (as in not base it on anyone) or give it to greatest player ever, Michael Jordan.

Made this one myself...

found this on Google...

and made this one myself cause Shaq is one my favorite players but I dont really think he should be the logo, just made it for fun :D

Not at all

Jerry West was all about fundamentals, it's bad enough that the NBA is awful these days with players who are a a work in progress instead of ones that can play right now. To change the logo to that brings the league down even further.

Instead of having the NBA change it's image to whatever is being played now there needs to be a stronger voice building the league into what it used to be with teams that had 8 or 9 players that could actually play in the league rather then now with it's 4 competent starters, 1 work in progress, 2 subs that can handle limited duty, and a bench of players that would never last seeing time on the floor even against second stringers

I see what your saying but how would having the best player be the face of the leauge bring things down even more? If anything it would be a perfect way to get your point across, that everyone should be great players or at least try to be.

I think the logo is fine the way it is, but if it ever does get changed, then Michael is the only logical player to be the new logo.

Although MJ would be the ideal now, I think the logo should stay as it is. The MJ is Nike so it should stay that way and I've always seen the original NBA logo as the iconic symbol of the league so it shouldn't be changed. Uniforms and team logos can change but the league logo should stay because of the legacy.

But no has had a bigger Basketball legacy than Michael Jordan. I know Nike owns the Jumpman logo but were not talking about ownership and copywrites here. Were talking about who deservesthe NBA logo to represent the face the game and theres no better candidate than MJ.

There could be some punchlines on what the logo should be................leave it alone, you need to change the league before you worry about the logo.

Getting new refs, letting the players be more physical like in the old days. I'd cut down the amount of timeouts too.

Let me explain why it should goto NBA IMO. I just think if a logo is going to be a particular player it should be the best one. Either that or don't make the logo based off anyone.

Thing is Jordan owns that logo right? It's branded in his shoe. The last one looks like what shaq had on his shoe. If no one told me the logo was Jerry West I wouldn't have known so I believe it's a generic look. It's just popular knowledge that the logo is Jerry West. I believe it's fine.

New refs would just alter the way games are called. Therefore you made two points -- one of which was to allow more physicality. That's kind of bogus. Some games are just called differently. And timeouts? Isn't that nitpicky?

Yah hopefully games are called according to the rule book not by what it says on the back of a guys jersey. The last 2 minutes of a game should be the last 2 minutes, not take half an hour with intentional fouls and timeouts, shorten the amount of fouls maybe, then make everyone on the bench play like in other sports.

You can't tell me that the NBA is the only league in which superstars get preferential treatment... And what about the last two minutes in football? There are stoppages. It's just the way the game is structured. Intentional fouls are part of the game. Timeouts are part of the game. It's called strategy. Shorten the amount of fouls before a player fouls out? That would never go over in the NBA. Bench players do play, but it seems like you want a smoother end to games -- likely for the fans. What fan wants to see Sasha Vujacic take the last shot because Kobe Bryant is on the bench?

Hell no! The logo now is a classic. I don't know how to explain it, but it's just a great representation of basketball and the way it should be. That should never change.

Especially since that logo is actually a brand.

I don't think they could use that image cause that is Jordan's brand logo and that would kind of conflict. I don't know if they should change it though cause you remember the last time the NBA tried to change something, everyone but Kyle Krover hated it.

I agree completely. No current player should have it, and MJ is the only that should have it if they change it. But I still prefer this one.
